Here's a link to a shuttle service that was posted on the other Repo Cruise thread that might be useful to some of us.

http://www.primetimeshuttle.com

Also, don't forget to bring a carseat for
those of us travelling with small children. This is on their website:

Prime Time Shuttle welcomes the opportunity to serve our "junior" passengers. Children two (2) years of age and younger travel free with a paying adult. If making an online reservation, please indicate the number of children traveling so that we can set a seat aside, as California state law does not allow children to ride in the lap of an adult.

If your child is under the minimum age/weight standards set by the state of California, you are required to supply an approved car seat for each child that the law applies to. It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian traveling with the child to make sure that the child is in compliance with the California Child Passenger Restraint Requirements.

We brought Haley's carseat with us last year and will again this year. She had her own seat on the plane and was much more comfortable and slept through most of the flight since she was in her carseat.

I do find it interesting that the carseat is required for the shuttle vans but not for buses.

Also, I once flew into Phoenix during the summer (115 degrees) and it felt like I walked into a wall when I left any building. Even the scorpions were looking for shade!

Thanks Ed...
I remember in Egypt that feeling of a wall of heat just enveloping you as you walked out.
I think it will be a lot of driving, and not too much physical exercise out in that type of heat.
I can only imagine what it was like in these areas prior to air conditioned vehicles and buildings. DW has already done alot of the packing and has lots of sunscreen 60.
We're going to buy a styrofoam cooler in Vegas and keep bottled water and pop on ice in the vehicle. We can just chuck the cooler at the end of the trip.

Cheers,
Grumbo

Mark: Great picture of Cabo San Lucas. I am looking forward to visiting new places.

Suzanne: Hope everything goes well with the pregnancy and that you are able to cruise with us.

Had a Russian Cocktail the other night. 1 oz vodka, 1 oz gin, 1 oz white creme de cacao'. Quite potent but not bad.

the mojito sounds good.

For who ever asked about the neck wrap. It is a tube of material with the tube stuffed with something that holds water. I put mine in a bowl with ice and water the night before I use it. You can also re-wet it during the day. I found it was useful at WDW. Not sure how much it will be worth further south but still plan to bring it along. It has ties so you could actually tie it around your neck.

Can some one tell me how to get the trip counter at the bottom of my posts? I'd like to do that.

Weather here is wet and muggy. We had an early morning thunderstorm that woke us up. And now it is raining steadily. We actually need the water so I'm not complaining but the dog is.
Talk to you all later.

kpgclark-- looking forward to the meet. I like an occasional trip to KofP Mall anyway. So this will be a fun thing.

Rain should be doing lots for the plants and the grass. But isn't doing a thing for me or the dog.

Been raining here all day too. Had some thunder and lightning this morning. Days like today make you want to stay home in bed!

I think one company is called Solarveil. Their web site is www.solarveil.com.

Another good web site is Magellans. I think they sell the solarveil stuff as well as really cool travel stuff. Their web site is www.magellans.com.

Sorry guys, I don't know how to do the link thing!

Hello everyone:wave2:
Got back from GA yesterday...long drive,(14 hours) but i survived!!i really really appreciate flying now!! I am extrememly tired but was able to catch up the last 15 pages. So we are now known as the Ship of the Fools??!! that is funny....

Kpgclark, i don't think i will be able to make it to Kof P meet on 7/31 since my 95 year old great aunt, (sharp as a wit) is coming up that weekend from Maryland and would like to see our family.( i just found this out last night!!)
If there are any changes, i will let you know...perahps another time, another meet....I have a whole another year yet to meet you fools.

Sunscreen clothing - I recommend Solar Eclipse (solareclipse.com). I have used them for a few years. Quick turnaround and good customer service. I buy the sun/swim long sleeve shirts for my kids. Really helps to not have to put sunscreen everywhere when they want to go out/to the pool!

Does anyone know where to find the Rit Sunguard that you
can wash into your clothes? I've looked locally at Wal-Mart,
K-Mart, grocery stores, etc. but haven't been able to locate it.
Any ideas?

Thanks!

UMTerp

I don't understand why you need sunguard in your clothes. If you wear a shirt you can't get sunburned under your clothes anyhow.

If everything went right I now have a count down on the bottom of my posts.

kpgclark- I think the reason is that some of the ultra violet rays do go thru fabric and you can burn. Also if you are swimming or snorkling and wear a tshirt once the shirt is wet you can be badly burned. Have friends who found that out the hard way.

Melinda really sorry that you may not make the meet on the 31st. We will have to try and work something out later in the year.
Talk to you all tomorrow. Estelle

My doctor told me that a T-shirt only blocks about 60% of the sun's radiation. I guess that by wearing one, I'll get 40% less sunburned.

That seems very strange to me. Have any of you personally been sunburned under your clothing? None of my family ever has and my sone is quite pale.

Dear Friends -

On this day, July 13, 2004, we ask that you remember Kayla, our 7 year old daughter, who died 10 years ago with a simple request -

Please consider the organ donor program - for yourself and your loved ones. If you choose to donate, then please let others know.
Our faith was our stronghold after our loss, but the knowledge that her organs gave a second chance for life to others was our comfort all these years.

Thank you and God bless you,
Rae

Rae-
I'm sure today is going to be a tough day for you. My thoughts are with you. My husband and I both are organ donors.
Kathy

My thoughts and Prayers with you today..My Dh and I are organ donors and is stated on our driver's license.
