if it will make you feel better - then we can fight to see who gets to be first in line - LOL

The truth of the matter is that everyone will rush to get reservations, everyone will get to the port early and wait on line, everyone will get to the shows early for the best seat etc. That's just what happens!

It wont be any different than a 7 day cruise. I always get to the pier early, go to palo as soon as I board, sign kids up for oceaneers club and then Im done... I can totally relax for the rest of the cruise

Ginny, we can go together...well only if you let me go first! Seriously I like to get it out of the way too. Hey maybe they'll just throw in Palo to the dining rotation! Wouldn't that be great?

Andy.....I would love a magnet! I like the T-shirt idea too, although I don't know if DH will go for. (the DORKY issue.) I'll PM you with my information.

Andy..........your the BEST!!!::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

Jennifer

Andy!!! I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!!!! T-shirts and magnets!!

Awesome!

I can claim ignorance. I've never had a "ressie rush"-sounds like a drink from the 80's!!-so it will be a new experience for me!

Yes-it's true-

I am a ressie rush virgin!

I'm in! Paid my deposit today!

It will be me, DH, DS(10), DD(7) ages on cruise!

Can't wait to meet everyone in person!

UMTerp

P.S., Those of us using DCL transportation will probably be on board late so save me a Palo ressie (or two) please!

they should be able to limit the # of spa or Palo's ressies everyone can make on the first day ... to ensure everyone has a equal chance ... then open it up to "first come, first serve" after that to fill any ressie "holes" :)

Andy you are a Wonder. Okay sorry. We are very interested in both the magnet and the t shirt. Not sure DH will do the shirt but I will definately. He's a retired engineer and has a thing about a pocket ( you know he had a pocket protector in college). LOL I hope to be able to convince him that just this once it'll be okay.
Dreamer04-- I laughed out loud when I saw the post about being a ressie virgin.
Interesting idea having Palos in the dinning rotation. Won't happen at least I don't think so. Palos is such a neat experience that it is best savored as a special event.
I really have to get on the thread more often, this business of posting in the afternoon and then coming back in the evening and finding 4 or 5 pages of new posts is a new experience for me.
At any rate I am off for the night. See you in the morning. Estelle

Andy - I have pm'd you with our information for t-shirts and magnets. Wow! Did you have any idea you would get such a response!

Jazzman - I pm's you with the rest of our information for tracking purposes only!

Hello everyone,

Just read through all of these posts! I have been offline for a few days and wow!

Verandah Man - we would love to order four t-shirts! What a great idea!

For the list - we have early seating.

Thanks!

Just saw that you live in Tualatin. We live in Beaverton. I haven't seen too many Oregonians going on the cruise so far. Nice to have you onboard neighbor!:boat:

I know there was a thread about formal and semi-formal nights on the repositioning cruises and I found this little tid-bit of info on the web. Maybe we'll see some of these and people will be even more "confused" than normal!

Black Tie means formal. Men wear tuxedos, women wear cocktail, long dresses or dressy evening separates.

White Tie means ultra-formal. Men wear full dress, with white tie, vest, shirt. Women wear long gowns.

Formal usually means the same as Black Tie, but in some trendier cities like New York or Los Angeles, it could mean a black shirt, no tie with a tux. Women wear cocktail, long dresses or dressy evening separates.

Ultra-formal means White Tie. Men wear full dress, with white tie, vest, shirt. Women wear long gowns.

Black Tie Optional means you have the option of wearing a tuxedo, but it should clue you into the formality of the event, meaning a dark suit and tie would be your other option. Women wear cocktail, long dresses or dressy evening separates.

Black Tie Invited means you have the option of wearing a tuxedo, but it should clue you into the formality of the event, meaning a dark suit and tie would be your other option. Women wear cocktail, long dresses or dressy evening separates.

Creative Black Tie leaves room for trendy interpretations of formal wear. He can go more modern with a tux -- maybe a black shirt, no tie. She wears long or short dresses or evening separates (maybe a long lace or sequined skirt with a sleek cashmere sweater).

Semi-formal is the trickiest of all dress codes. Usually it means that tuxes are not required, nor are long dresses. An evening wedding (after 6 PM) would still dictate dark suits for him, and a cocktail dress for her. Daytime semi-formal events mean a suit for him and an appropriate short dress or dressy suit for her.

Cocktail Attire means short, elegant dresses for her and dark suits for him

Roxann - I'm finally glad to see a fellow Oregonian. I work in Beaverton. Maybe we can have a Northwest DIS meet!

Does anyone know how many formal nights are to be expected on a 14 day cruise? I'd be interested in learning what the dress codes usually are.

Wow - I really got behind in this thread in only one day!!!

Rsschneck: Thanks for your message. The pen-pal idea for the girls is a great one! (A little extra writing practice never hurts either!) I'll PM you tomorrow with our info.

RobinMarie: Lara's very excited about meeting other little girls online before the cruise. I really think it will make the whole Kids' Lab a lot easier this time around. With 14 nights (and 7 at-sea days:earsboy: ) we'll all need it!

Andy: Count us in for three T-Shirts (can't guarantee DH will ever be seen in it onboard since he only wears polo shirts) but he does like to collect them for trips to the beach and our backyard. Ladies and kid's sizes would also be great if available. (I assume you're gauging interest at this point.) Also put us down for a door magnet too! Thanks for all your hard work!!!!! Glad your knee's feeling better.

Paul

Can't really be a MEET if there are only two of us. How about a beer on the patio this summer?

My parents will be with us and they live in Vancouver, WA.

Any other cruiser's from the Pacific Northwest?

Roxann

Hey Andy- Great idea for the magnets and T-shirts. We'll need 4 T-shirts and 1 magnet. Can you imagine 300+ people arriving for embarkation wearing the same shirt. It'll make for a great group shot. During the sail away party when they cover the pool, we should have a photo taken from Deck 10 of all of us. How about some free advertising on the T-shirts? (Maybe a blurb for our friend Shirley at "The Perfect Gift" on the back) With all the goodwill thats being offered, I'd like to contribute as well. I own a Picture Frame Shop and will try to design a themed mat and frame for our cruisemates. Their only cost will be shipping...Mark
