Oh no, I am #8. :earseek: Looks like I spend a lot of time posting here, but not as much as Mel! :rotfl2:

Right behind you, Renee! :rotfl2: Good thing we're sitting together - we obviously BOTH have lots to say! :teeth:

To make your trip more complete did you know that there is a costco in both Acapulco and Cabo San Lucas.

You have got to be kidding me??? :guilty:
Then again swimming the dolphins at Acapulco is 200 bucks a piece... Hmmmmmm ;)

Hi This is NanaKaty, I see several people on a lot and I thought I would introduce my self. I will be traveling with 3kidsmom. That is my daughter and three grandchildren and her husband. This will be my first cruise ever! I unexpectdly lost my husband of 33 years last July due to a subachroid brain hemmorage. was such a wonderful man and I miss him terribly. I am hoping to make some new friends and new memories on this cruise. I know nothing about cruising. By the way my husband was 53 and I am 51
Thanks for listening.

Welcome Katy (I'll leave the Nana part for your grandkids). I'm sure the cruise will be a bittersweet adventure for you, but being with your daughter and family will make it memorable. This is a crazy group, and we have shared a lot of events with each other...some fun and some very sad. But I expect August will be quite a celebration. Looking forward to meeting you and your family!

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. I look forward to meeting you and hope this cruise fills you with fabulous memories!

Thanks for introducing yourself!

NanaKaty--so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. I can't even imagine how you feel..........he was way too young.

On a happy note, though, we are all glad you'll be with us........there are really some "FOOLS" on this cruise. We'll make you feel welcomed! :goodvibes

Hello and welcome Katy!

One great thing about all of this pre-cruise discussion is the fact that you're going to be cruising with 500+ of your closest friends! And, what are friends good for if not for answering any cruise-related questions you might have! ;)

Don't forget to check out the other board too. Lot's of information over there and we're attempting to compile it in an organized fashion. So you don't have to look through the hundreds of pages on this thread. :)

Welcome Katy...I'm very sorry you lost your husband so young. 33 years of marriage is quite an achievement. We will do our very best to help you have a memorable and fun cruise. I expect we might give you more memories than you realize. After all, we are the "Ship of Fools" !!!!

:goodvibes Katy:

A big old DisBoard welcome. So very glad to have you aboard. My DH and I are 51 and have been together 30 years. I can only imagine the loss you feel and send my thoughts and sympathies your way. While the cruise may seem bitter sweet, it will make new and lasting memories with your daughter and her family. Looking forward to meeting you! :wizard:

NanaKaty...sorry for your loss...wow 33 terrific years. You're so lucky to have those memories.

Now, I need a little more info about you for the trivia contest!!!

Thanks again Darlene for the info...can't wait to see!

Not much going on here ...tgif tomorrow.

P.S. - My goal: get into the top 25 posters on the thread. Not really, but I felt like explaining why I've posted so much today. :rolleyes1

C'mon Nancy step it up! Do you realize someone not even cruising with us has more posts than you (or me!)

Welcome to our group Katy. I am also very sorry about your loss. I am looking forward to meeting you and your family on this cruise.

Hi Val,

We had friends visit DL/DCA that same time period last summer. In fact, we met up with them the Thursday of their trip. They commented on how it became significantly worse for crowds as the weekend approached. My recommendation is for Th/Fri. It will be busy, but doable. Use your usual strategies. Also, it may be busier for the 50th...difficult to know yet. The good thing about the 4th of July is that the locals are all usually going somewhere else for their get-away week/weekend after the 4th.

Hey, but any day at Disney is a great one! We would love to meet up with you for a ride or ice cream if it works out for your plans, not to worry if it does not. Have fun planning!

Barbara
Thanks Barbara! I think we have decided on a plan of attack. I think we'll visit DL/DCA the TH/F before the 4th, and it would be so much fun to meet up with you--Rachel gave that a BIG thumbs up!

Gosh, I just can't believe the news out of Florida. What would make the Disney company do such a horrible thing? I mean, he's an old man, er mouse, and all...but to RETIRE Mickey Mouse? I mean, have they lost their minds? :confused3

OH, forgot to add to the above.............................

APRIL FOOL'S !!!!!
