Hello Fools!

After lurking on this board for months I am jumping in. We (DH, DW, DS13, DS11 and DS11) are excitedly looking forward to bringing the Magic home. Thanks to a lot of your posts we are well on our planning way:

- Tickets to see our World Champion Red Sox in Anaheim - check

In case you couldn't guess, we are from the Boston Suburbs.

Look forward to meeting you all in August!

Hey all, what night are you going to see the Sox at Anaheim? We are going on the Friday before the cruise. Really looking forward to seeing a big time ball game. We Brits don't really understand the finer points but in the past, we've managed to sit beside really kind people who explain lots of things to us. We were in Boston the night the Red Sox won the World Series and it was totally magic. We felt very honoured to be there.

Looking forward to meeting folks from one of our other very favourite US cities.

Hey Renee I see you're doing endorsements now!! ;)

Cheers,

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: How else can I spend so much time on the boards? Oh and don't tell Lenny about this. ;)

If you haven't looked at the photos from ACA_Port Authority (Robert) they are a MUST-SEE! All 70 of them! Here's the link again: http://community.webshots.com/user/aca_port

We spent a week in Acapulco in 1996, so I haven't been real thrilled with going there again as opposed to a different port. Don't get me wrong - not because Acapulco isn't a great place to visit, but rather because after a week we thought we had done/seen it all!!

Now that I have seen Robert's pics I am all excited about Acapulco!! I loved the aerial photos around the cruise terminal. La Quebrada (cliff divers) is so close nearby! We did that in '96 and plan to go again this trip, too.

We didn't do the Fort before so I am looking forward to that, especially since it's right across the street from the cruise terminal and there is a foot bridge over the busy street to get there. Looks like they do a show there, too! FUN!

Did you see that sunrise over Acapulco? Gorgeous!! We are there overnite! We will see it, too!! :sunny:

Read the captions on the photos; looks like they refer to us as "Floaters". :boat:

Is that bungee jumping on the DCL excursion list? Didn't remember seeing it. :rotfl2:

Anyway, just sharing my excitement about Acapulco with you!! :Pinkbounc

Just got this from my Dad...thought it was appropriate for this group ;)

A man and his wife walked into a dentist's office. The man said to
the dentist, "Doctor, I'm in one hell of a big hurry! I have two
buddies sitting out in my car waiting for us to go play golf. So
forget about the anesthetic and just pull the tooth and be done
with it-- I don't have time to wait for the anesthetic to work!
The dentist thought to himself, "My goodness--this sure is a very
brave man, asking me to pull his tooth without using anything to kill
the pain."
So the dentist asked him, "Which tooth is it, sir?"

The man turned to his wife and said, "Open your mouth, Honey, and
show the doctor which tooth hurts."

Just checking in...we're going crazy trying to "update" our kitchen so that we can put the house on the market (if I never have to go to Home Depot again it will be too soon!!!). I'll try and get caught up on the past 80 million or so posts since I was last on here, but if there is anything important (yes, IzziBob, Mark & Marsha, I did get your PMs) I should know...please tell me!!

Hope everyone is doing well, and see you all in 4 months!

Eileen

Haven't decided yet...probably around Malvern, Berwyn...somewhere around there

You'll have to let me know where you end up. Maybe we'll be neighbors.

Would the DISer from Tappan New York please PM me? The DISer from Tappan, New York. I have a question for you. Thank you.

Never mind, through my investigative powers, I believe I have my answer!

Mel and Bob, I've been thinking about you all day and saying a prayer for your mom. I am hoping for a positive outcome as well.

DH and I got the Hep A vaccine yesterday... he has no sideaffects.. but I started feeling like crap about 1-1/2 hours after the shot... very lethargic, achy muscle and joints and a headache.... has anyone else had this happen. I actually stayed home from work for the 1st time in 4 years today because I felt so bad.

Dr. was telling us to make sure we get the booster in six months but I will seriously consider NOT getting it with the way I fell and the $200 plus dollars it cost.

$200 :earseek: Wow, doesn't your insurance cover it? I checked with ours when I was thinking of getting the shots and was told everything is covered, and I wouldn't even have to pay our co-pay either since it wasn't a real office visit.

Renee - we have Aetna and they dont cover it. so it was $89 per person for the RX and the $15 co-pay for the dr to give the injection. Thankfully I will get it back from my health care spending account. Im not sure if the kids will be covered or not... Dr wasnt sure - she said many times things are covered for kids that arent covered for adults.

I have Cigna. They told me the shots were covered for us and Haley. Too bad all insurance companies don't cover everyone the same.

Virtual Magic Kingdom

Virtual Magic Kingdom is a multi-player online Disney game launching in June 2005.

You can
Create and customize your own online character
Journey through public spaces to play games
Battle pirates in the Pirates of the Caribbean
Explore Adventureland on a Junge Cruise Photo safari
Compete to create the best nighttime fireworks
Meet new friends and build your own community (live chat with others)
Design your own private guest rooms
Earn special online powers. (the more you play the better the rewards)

Players are encouraged to visit the real theme parks to get both real and virtual rewards.

Virtual Magic Kingdom will launch with Main Street, U.S.A. and Adventureland and Fantasyland in June of 2005. In late 2005 or early 2006 Frontierland and Tomorrowland will be launched.

Players can earn online rewards for completing certain milestones.
Rewards will be redeemable online for virtual items (logo apparel, furnishing for spaces, etc.)
Some rewards will be redeemable at the parks in the form of merchandise, access to attractions, special privileges, etc.

The game will be designed to easily add new lands, public spaces and activities to stay fresh and exciting.

If you buy a hat, shirt, pin, candy or magic in certain locations you will also recieve a similar item for your online avator. You will receive a VMK card that has a code. You then enter the code and your avator will recieve a hat, shirt, pin, candy or magic, whatever you purchase.

Following is the list of the participating stores and the category of merchandise as it relates to VMK:

Main Street Mad Hatter - hats
Fantasyland Mad Hatter - hats
Briar Patch - hats
Hatmosphere - hats
Star Trader - shirts
Little Green Men Store Command - pins
Candy Palace & Pooh Corner - candy
Main Street Magic Shop - magic

Apparently there is also an in-park quest with questions.

In Tomorrowland outside the innoventions building there will be Virtual Magic Kingdom Central. This will be an information center for VMK where you can pick up quest cards, turn in completed cards and obtain rewards, ask questions and play. There will be comuputers to access VMK inside innoventions.

Here's the website, though its not up and running yet. www.virtualmagickingdom.com

We're looking forward to this, it looks like a lot of fun.

I'm getting excited too, the more I talk with Roberto! :bounce:

Ok - tomorrow the Canon 20D will be 1080 - lowest I've seen. I'm agonizing over this purchase. Should I/Shouldn't I .. HELP!

Melinda, hope things are looking brighter for you and your family

Lynnie, hope you are feeling better. Victoria is getting psyched about seeing you guys - she wants to 'email' but most likely will be a PM to Mary.

Bob & Melinda--hope all is ok. Praying for you and Bob's mom.

Marsha--sent you my M.O. today for the lanyards!! Can't wait to get 'em!
