Well - the contact from Shoretrips -- finally decided to email me again -- asked if I was interested in still getting quotes. So I let her know we are - at least 60 people are interested, to see what her price will be. :goodvibes I also let her know there is another quote out there (competition is good)

Price is a little bit higher than the orig. - since we are now factoring in transportation costs (plus we will get a guide). Also we have a breakdown in Adult vs. Children costs.

I am working on an article for the newsletter with all details.

Mel and Bob - we reach out from this side of the pond to send our best wishes at this painful time - and to say that even in the darkest hours, think of the good things - celebrate the joy and laughter you had with MIL.

Our love to y'all

Allan, Pam and Joy

I am so sorry to read the news of Melinda's MIL passing. It is so hard to have to go through this. My father passed 11 years ago and my FIL 10. Even now, my sadness overwhelms me at times. Mel and family, fill your hearts with the good memories of her, and know that your friends here are all sharing in your grief.

Robin - Mr. Clinton would have signed your book, he was only signing My Life, at least that was what the book store people told us. He did sign a picture and for the first few people in line did more personalization. However, I was just as happy with shaking his hand and gettting a signature.

This morning I am going back to the dctor for a follow up on the insomia drugs, which worked way too well the first night, but don't work as well now. I think it is the timing when I take it, but I will let her decide. And FWIW, I word some shoes with 2 inch heels yesterday and cound barely make it to my car after standing for 3 hours. This morning my right foot is still hurting. After not wearing anything except flat shoes for over a year, I should have known! Guess I wil start practicing for the cruise after vacation. Vacation begins next Saturday officially. Our flight leaves about 8am and we get to Florida about 2:15, our son and his GF arrive about the same time. It wil be good to lay on the beach for a few days. Then the real fun begins, I can start the packing planning for the cruise.

Y'all have a real good day.

:grouphug:

My condonlences to Bob, Mel and Family.

Prayers for you and yours during this most diffuclt time.

Hope all are well this morning and coping with everything. We had some good news yesterday and some bad news ...good news was we got our room assignments on our Carnival family reunion cruise in June and everyone was upgraded!!! but the bads news was we had to take our DD16 to the Ear, Nose, Throat specialist for her chronic sore throats....finally the decision was made to remove her tonsils (much harder now than when you are a baby, so we were told).....now her current choices for surgery are May 6th (her 17th birthday) or May 13th (Friday the 13th!!!) Not good choices either way....May 6th is out because it is her birthday but mainly because she takes the S.A.T.'s on Saturday the 7th. That leaves the 13th.....and who wants surgery on Friday the 13th!!! Decisions, Decisions....hope they can come up with a different day. :sad2:

I had my tonsils removed when I was 15. I had one that had abcessed. The surgery was a lot less painful than the abcess that was drained prior to the surgery. She will be fine! I would go for the 13th and let her get her SAT's out of the way and enjoy her birthday. I am not very superstitious anyways! :wizard:

Happy Friday everyone!!!

Benita had her tonsils out when she was an adult -- one recommendation - have the Dr. give you the prescription for the tylenol w/Codine in LIQUID form prior to the surgery - so you have plenty of time to get it filled.

When she had hers done (outpatient basis) they didn't release her to 9:00 PM - so I went to the all night pharmacy and they were out! Got her some childrens tyl. (she wouldn't drink it too sweet), and had to run to another pharmacy first thing in the morning to get it!

Though - sometimes you wonder if God has a master plan - since when I came back with the drug - I noticed white smoke coming from a neighbors roof! I called 911 (they had just started it - to report it -- told Benita I was leaving to go to work (she was mobile - and I figured help was on the way) & would check on her at lunchtime. I left -- later Benita told me - the Fire Dept. actually called back to verify that we had reported a fire - and basically - she couldn't talk yet - they did finally send a truck after a 15 min delay, and rescued one sleeping person & the pets.

Jazz if I've told you once, I've told you a hundred times, IF you want Chinese food you DON'T have to go all the way over there!! I guess Rhode Island is a bit more backwards than we had been lead to believe ;) Sheesh.
However while there, can you see about getting those gifts for the sisterhood we discussed. I'm sure that they'll look great in them and see if they come in "Hooter's Orange". That would be the topper to see that!!!!!!

Have a great trip!

Cheers,
Grumbo

Geez D.E. I thought you were going to tell me that a new pope had been elected at the neighbour's place :)
Glad they're OK though.

We will most likely go with the 13th.....we are not superstitious either (maybe I should be since my great, great, great, etc... grandfather was the first governor of Salem, Mass....and we all know how that went!!!)

Thanks for the words of encourgagement and good idea bout the liquid pain killer....

MJ-- The day (May6th) you DD turns 17 our DD will turn 25. At this point she still has her tonsils. Unfortunately at 17 you can't tell her she can have all the ice cream she wants. Teens don't seem to do that anymore. :rolleyes1:

And to top it off they are going to start making Low Fat Oreos. That is just wrong.

Mark loved the Hooters picture. Won't be wearing the outfit in this life. The whole concept would make DH :faint:

Estelle

Wow can't wait to see the sisters in those outfits!

Also just went to my doctors and he took me off work for another week-I am going crazy! HELP!!!!

I sent this to Doris and told her that if we build a new home I found the crew to work on it!!! :rotfl:
She said I have to show this to Meagan... Meagan and I always kid her mum about how "talented" the waitresses are at Hooters :)

Cheers,
