You're the pirate everyone else wants to throw in the ocean -- not to get rid of you, you understand; just to get rid of the smell. Like the rock flint, you're hard and sharp. But, also like flint, you're easily chipped, and sparky. Arr!

I'd like to make a suggestion, if I may.

I know we have a large, formal meet planned for Sunday but I would like to have a quick, informal meet on Saturday too.

This has always worked out really well on past cruises. We usually schedule it right after the lifeboat drill in the Promenade lounge. It generally is short, lasting only 20 minutes or so until the Sail Away Celebration begins, but it allows for a quick meet and greet.

With such an early meet it also allows for people to introduce themselves on the first day!

I was just thinking that this would be nice since so many of us are planning events together right away. EEAYOR, for example.

I love the suggestion Kmiles. I REALLY enjoyed participating in the Sail Away party with the dissers as a 'first meet.'

We will have already met folks on Friday before we sail and have taken the bus with folks before we embark so we are up for anything.

Might be a good topic for tonight's chat session! Hope to see new faces there, always keeps a chat interesting!

I agree with Mad Dog!

One of my complaints with previous cruises is you don't "meet" often enough to really make friends. Even with the HoJo/HI meets, plus Mark's Gala, plus EEYOR, plus Wine Tasting, it would be nice to have one more chance to get to know folks, especially very early in the cruise. I also would love to see us set up some sort of informal daily time/place to hang out and relax together. Something like 4pm at the secret verandah on deck 7. Just a place to go if you want to catch up with fellow fools and talk about the day (and night to come).

Dread the Disemboweler (Thats a name, not an admonition)

It is so beautiful and sunny here today. I noticed yesterday that the days are getting longer. It used to be dark when I brought the kids home from piano lessons. It is nice to see the sun.

Does anyone know if Disney has board games available for the children to play on board? Also, can you get cards from Guest Services like you can on other cruise lines?

Mad Dog Bonney wonders what the heck a Plunder Bunny is! In 28 years on the high seas he's yet to encounter that term!

Checked out the site. Gave me an idea! I think we need to elect a "Plunder Bunny"!

Dread

If you go to the guy's password protected thread Izzi you'll see the poll as to who will be the "Plunder Bunny" on our cruise. It should be a pretty good race. There are 5 contestants so far and feel free to add a few more if you're so inclined.

Kathy--

I think they do have board games for guests. On several of our cruises we've noticed that they often set out various games at the tables in the Promenade Lounge. Checkers, Monopoly, chess, Scrabble, etc. So, I'm guessing they have them available at other times too. Not sure where though.

I know in the new bar (is that Sessions that was refurbished) they had a number of board games available from the bartender and by where the internet used to be cards were available from the bartender.
Anyone play Euchre (its a card game you perverts!) or is this just a Canadian game?

Cheers,
Grumbo

This is a great suggestion. Something else we normally do for our Cruistoberfest cruises is meet on Deck 10 for the Sailaway Party. That's usually where we hand out the goodies to people that we haven't been able to find yet. It works out pretty well since you can still look down at the stage and see everything and can even wave goodbye to everyone on land.

OK, Listen up People who has Eeayor links

I need more info from you. While many of you has sent me info in the past, either they were incorrect or i delected by mistake (Duh, i didn't know that you can move to another folder)

What i need from you

Your last name
Stateroom # or GTY
DCL ressies #

Now, i need the DCL #, NOT THE TRAVEL AGENCY RESSIE #. If you do not know the DCL #, you need to call your TA and get the DCL #.

If 2 or more families are linked, i need each Last name, Stateroom and DCL # for EACH family. If you have 2 or more staterooms linked to the same family under 1 reservation, please let me know the stateroom #.

I beleive that DU is in process of working with us.. We want to make it easy and smooth for them!! Thanks for all your help.

You can either PM me (all my PM boxes are clear) or E mail me...

Absolutely fantastic job, Tracy, on the newsletter. I'll see you all in chat tonight!

Jazz you give her the info.
I'm getting a headache from all of this ;)

Grumbo,
DW and I play Euchre...er, we used to play. It was taugh to us by friends of ours who came from or went to school in the Midwest. We used to have a lot of fun playing, but all our Euchre playing friends have since moved away.

Paul

Well maybe we can have a game while onboard :)
I have to carry Doris as I'm a much better player (the source of hours of needling :) ) but it is a fun game.

Cheers,
Grumbo

Hello Fools!!!! Back from the Boston airport, first time I got to do the WHOLE tunnel thing. A semi straight shot, but boy do people drive like they have to be there in a HUGE hurry.

Another good place for pirate wear is www.orientaltrading.com They have inexpensive hats, eye patches and such.

Is a "pluder Bunny" anything like a "Buckle Bunny" at the rodeo? If there are any pirates or fools with butts like cowboys, I am there!

ARRRRR Bloody Anne Rackham here.

Tracy: Wonderful newsletter. I printed it out. I have AOL and got both e-mails to work.

A sailaway DISmeet sounds good.

I will get my info together for EAYOR.

Eeayor??!??

Okay I know I have a big gap in my Ship of Fools knowledge (still working on reading pages 250-600; have read everything else), but what is an Eeayor?

I know it is linked early dining, by what does the acronym stand for? I am assuming it's an acronym.

Also, I already have 5 staterooms linked to be at the same table for early dining. Will this Eeayor thingy mess that up? Or is it just for linking staterooms to certain early rotation and not putting tables together?
