Yes Marsha, do they come with ID holders? Can we pay extra for these, or does that get too complex for the ordering process?

Thanks!

Barbara

THANK YOU DREAMS UNLIMITED TRAVEL!!!! That is a mighty generous offer. We fools appreciate it.
My vote for the lanyards would be Bringing the Magic Home 2005 since the name tags say Ship of Fools.
Welcome new cruisers. Glad you chose to join us.

Marsha,
Are you ordering ID holders to go with the lanyards? If so, I'd like 2. If not, do you know where we can get them?

Thanks,
Paul

Paul, I won't be getting the holders, but you can get the room key size at Walmart in the hunting department. (So y'all have your huntin' license available at all times!) The name tags Renee is making will be laminated and will be too big to fit in that size holder.

And before anyone jump on me about "room key" rather than KTTW, allow me to explain. When DCL firsat began sailing, they were really pushing 7 nights, 3 or 4 at WDW and 3 or 4 on the Magic. They came up with the brilliant plan that you could check in at the hotel and get one key card. That card would open your hotel room, allow you park entry, and be used as a WDW charge card and then become your stateroom key and ship charge card, thus Key to the Wold was the name given. The name has stuck, even though it is not applicable on a non Land/Sea cruise. So now you know a tad more trivia!

Will the lanyard come with the silver clip at the end to slip the laminated name tag onto?

I don't mean to sound dense-- so you use the lanyards to hold your room key so you don't have to put it in your pocket or pocketbook? Then you wear it all day? Do you all find this works well for kids to keep their keys handy?

Kathy,
I think the lanyard would work very well for that. You can get a plastic holder at Walmart to fit your card in and put it on that silver clip along with your name tag. Of course, you're right. You have to wear the lanyard all the time for this convenience.
I can't speak for the kids since Mary won't carry a card. She's too young and won't ever be out of the club without me checking her out.

Its OK Kathy, as a member of the Sisterhood we're used to it.

I use my DCL lanyard every day at work for my ID card and proximity card to get through secure areas. They are very convenient.
I feel that for kids especially its good. No putting it in pockets or if they have no pockets. We have no charging priveleges for our daughter, and I tried that with Doris too but it got hot sleeping out on the verandah so I had to give in.

Cheers,
Grumbo

No, it has a black plastic circle only. The ones with the clips are a lot more $, and a lot heavier. Remember I will be bringing a lot of them in my suitcase and as I am only packing one, I need to stay with in the airling weight limits!

I have read on the cruise board that a lot of people find this very handy for both the adults and the kids. It is especially nice if you have no pockets and don't want to carry a purse or wallet.

Kathy, some people will not be using them for pins. You can get ID holders that will clip onto the ring and use it for your room key, you can add the name tag Reneee is making, too. But certainly no one needs to get one if they don't want.

I use mine for my KTTW card and name tag. It sure is nice to see the tags and lanyards when walking around. I don't get a ID holder, I bring a punch. I'll sell anyone a punch if you want it ;) . Just kidding!

I say Bringing the Magic Home!!

Tracy

Now I'm sounding dense........can we slip our laminated name tags onto the black plastic circle or do we need to purchase a silver clip on our own?

If you have a punch you can put it on the black circle.
I know though it is a pain to have the KTTW punched as that his how they differentiate as to non charging or charging. (Yeah I've read some still do it but on the last two times they merely punched a hole in DD's KTTW to make it unusable for charging) I'll get the clear plastic holders for the KTTW and just use a punch for Renees Fool's card.

Cheers,
Grumbo

You have three votes for "BRINGING THE MAGIC HOME" :boat: :boat: :boat: Since this may be a once in a lifetime thing I think it would be more significant to have that on the lanyard.

I just love the new dancing banana guys

Have a great day. Toodles  :genie: JEANNE

After serious cogitation, looking at tea leaves, and checking with my augurer (that would be Mark), I've decided to cast my 4 votes for "Ship of Fools".

Now if you'll excuse me, I hafta go clean up the pigeon guts...

Yopu need to have your own clip. If you chose to punch a hole in the Renee tag, you can tie it to the circle with a ribbon.

Clips can be purchased at any office supply store.

Maybe a compromise..."Bringing Home the Fools" naw...I'm sticking with my original fool vote upping it to 5!

I think we may run into a copyright issue if we have "The Magic" on it anyway. That has been an issue with shirts in the past.

Cheers,
Grumbo

That almost sounds believable
