Did someone say WINE TASTING?! I'M THERE!!!! WHERE? Can we bring vino aboard or is that a no-no?(Forgive me , a newbie to cruisin).
Seems like lots of folks have room assignments already. How does that happen? I've not heard a word from DU since I put money down on my cat.4 that first month the cruise was offered. Should I be worried and start makin some phone calls?
Sippin some great Shiraz as I type. This would be a great one to bring to a wine tasting!
As I've read these posts, seems like we need a special event flyer soon(independent of the navigator).
Let's see........one on board dismeet, one wine tasting.....Have I missed any others?

This is gonna be one great cruise! I feel it in me timbers! pirate:drinking1 :jumping4:

Hey... do i know you?? You the one with 3 girls right?? I think your two DD was on my DD Disney Pen Pal list right?? One of them is Ana?? I beleive you are the one that lives about 40 mins south of me.. Gee i hope i got the right person...i feel like i fool if i was wrong...

Oh Don't worry about the room assigments...You might not know until you get your doc's, which is a few weeks before the cruise.. I don't know my room # either...

AHA, thank you Mark, for clearing that up!!

Val, Got a good pic of Brianne!! Boy was she MAD!!! but i got her laughing little while later...

Now I know WHY you changed your user name! :drinking1

I missed the info. about the wine tasting. Can you tell me more about it? We go on local wine tasting tours 2-3 times per year. We have toured Napa/Sonoma a couple of times too! This might be right up our alley!

Paul - Nice to have you back in town! So, it doesn't sound like the 10 day cruise had too many changes, hmmm!

This was a sad day for my DD, Brianne!! i pulled apart her hair braiding tonight from the Wonder Cruise a month ago and she didn't want me too ...

I told her that she will have it again in 8 months with her Disfriends, Lara, Rachel, and others!!

You can definitely count Lara in that group!!! Did Brianne get her whole head done? Lara's debating whether she wants the "hairband" braids or a few microbraids on each side. Her hair is naturally curly and will be impossible in the humidity in August! :earseek: The hairband braids may be a good way to keep it under control!

Glad Alex is feeling better today. Lara's hand is almost fully recovered, and she's returning to her gymnastics classes next Monday. :cheer2: :cheer2: She's so excited about it! I'll just have to grit my teeth and realize I can't protect her from every possible injury. (But enough with emergency rooms and hospitals, already!!! They've been one of the things I'm looking forward to leaving BEHIND with 2004!!! Imagine - in just over 24 hours, we will be in "The Year Of THE Cruise"! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

GOOD FOR LARA!!!! :cheer2: I will be sure to tell Brianne that! Hey, i know as a mom, it is hard, but kids have to go on...I broked my arm when rollerskating when i was 13 yrs., (which i used to do every weekend for years), at the rink, but after i got my cast off, back to the rink...of course, my mom was nervous, but hey, you can't stop yourself short for something you love doing..

Brianne just had "Corn Row" done, about 15 of it, on the top of her forehead and went back about 5 inches and had beads at the end, which was red and green and white for Christmas. The rest of her hair stayed loose. She already told me that she wants her whole hair done the next time...i told her we'll see. This time she had it done on the ship, wheareas she always had it done on CC...(actually the very first time was at Nassau and i got yelled at by my hairdresser and told to NEVER get it done there because of hygenie puproses!)(They used the same comb for everyone :earseek: ) so after the 1st cruise, had it done on CC twice. Brianne actually like it better on the ship...Doesn't get stuck being hot while getting it done and takes away time on CC too. So, when i go on Repo, i will get an appt to have it done that first or second day, and don't have to worry about her hair for the rest of the trip!! Sounds like Lara has the same hair type like mine!! HUMIDITY!! FORGET IT!! I have naturally curly hair also...my hair looks like i got zapped during humid temp!! :earseek:
Brianne's hair , on the other hand, is straight!! I love her hair!!

Rachel got the headband style like Brianne did, but in a herringbone pattern, and the rows were braided all the way to the ends. It was cute, and she didn't have to mess with her hair at all for the rest of the cruise and beyond! We had it done on the ship early on. She asked if she could have her whole head done next time, but I'll have to think on it. Her hair is very thick and that could be a lot of braids (read "expensive" here).

This will be kind of like what you've done before, only the wines will come to you and we can't really guarantee the quality or (in Mark's case) the drinkability of the wine :crazy2: Some have talked about bringing regional/hometown wines, some have said they'll pick something up when then get to CA. I haven't heard from Jazzman yet, but my guess is he'll bring the Zinfandel!!

Basically, each couple will bring a bottle of wine. I'll figure out the food, glasses, date and location down the road a bit and notify everyone, but it will be on the Magic :teeth: If you send me the wine information (vinter/winery, vintage, varietal, etc., and any other interesting tidbits you want to share), I'll put together a "tasting sheet" for taking notes on the wines you'll try. I'm working on a way to add the wines that you pick up in California rather than at home once we get onboard.

Tracy,

Count my DH (Jim) and I (Eileen) in on the wine tasting! I even got him a wine book (The Everything Wine Book) for Christmas. Sounds like a great time.

PS...Do we have to drink the infamous Zinfindel? :drinking1

Count us in! :drinking1 I am sure my parents will want to participate in the wine tasting, so count us in for four. One bottle per couple seems on the light side with the group you have listed. Do you think we might need to bring more? Now I just have to decide what to share :smooth:

JUST WANT TO WISH YOU ALL A HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 2005!!!!

THIS IS IT, BABY, THIS IS THE YEAR OF OUR AWESOME CRUISE!!!

VAL,
We def. have to exchange pics...Bob is downloading the pics this weekend.

Anyone staying up til midnight tonight? Boy, i would have love to go Times Square tonight...warm night!!

I'm waiting for Lenny to get home from work and then it's off to Mom & Dad's to bring in the New Year. Lenny was supposed to have off yesterday and today since New Year's Eve and New Year's Day are holidays in his union, but the contractor at the job site he was working at really wanted the machine to be up and running for Monday. So the bad thing is he had to work both days, but the good news is he gets double time and a half for it. I already told him, that's for the vacation :boat: fund. Probably won't be that much after Uncle Sam gets his share though. Since Lenny was working, me and Haley had a Mommy and Haley day out. We went out to lunch and then shopping. Had a good time and spent too much money, but I got her some cute clothes.

Happy New Year Everyone!!!! :cheer2: :rockband: :cheer2:

Reneé

Melinda - I'm typing up the instructions for uploading pics right now and I'll PM them to you.
