Wow! Lots of September birthdays on this cruise! Mine is 09/19, but I've got NO plans to celebrate it onboard. This is an "UN-Birthday" year for me!

Arlene

Hey, there is another event we can do...The Unbirthday party!!!

Hi,

About the boredom factor. I have heard that traveling on this cruise there will be senior Disney folks, maybe even some people from the Disney family. With these types of people on board I know that DCL will make every effort to have many activities (the last thing they want is for Disney managment to hear complaints in person). I have also heard from Disney that they are planning at least one special shows. So I am not concerned with being bored. Or to restate what was already said "I would rather do nothing on the Disney Magic vs. do my regular routine at home and work".

Thanks.

Everyone who wants to do a wine party could bring a bottle (or one per couple), and a glass (from the bar, from home, from your sailaway drink, whatever) and once we know how many we are talking about, pick a place. Outside would be good if we are moving, but otherwise it may be too hot. We could order cheese and cracker platters from room service too and get some fruit from Scoops, etc. If we want to get really fancy, I could compile a list of the wines we will have and get some info on them including a space to take notes (so you know what you liked and didn't like and what you'll buy when you get home). If this all sounds good, PM me and I'll be happy to work this out. It'll be my tasting party for this year :flower1: and I won't have to clean the house :Pinkbounc

Thanks for the info Lou. That would be really awesome if we got to meet someone from the Disney family. Of course, they probably wouldn't want to be bothered. :( Then again, they might not mind at all! :)

I would love to meet Roy Disney just so I could say I met him. I wouldn't mind meeting Eisner either. I mean, after all, Disney Cruise Line was his idea.

I love this idea! How cool will it be to take notes on wine!!! I just hope I'll be able to read and write straight. :) I nominate Winotracy to be our official "Ship of Fools Sommelier and Wine Tasting Coordinator!"

Bring on the wine!

How appropriate a title for Winotracy! I accept the nomination! It's alot better than second assistant laundry folder something or other! They don't need me in the laundry room anyway! So far we have:

Winotracy (2)
kmiles (?)

DCL did not do a special St. Lucia pin, nor did they do a special 10 day Christmas Cruise pin. Talked to the shop, they have already requested special pins for the 14 days PC cruise.

Got this post from the "Live.. 10 day holiday" thread...
That is good news. Now that is one pin worth having!!!! :D

Got an idea  ...someone should get the navigators form the May Repo cruise and plan each day what we should do...Some of you may be friendly with someone on that cruise right??

Okay by me!! Just have to run it by Barbara though and get her approval...She is in charge of the titles.

Barbara????
(let's hope she is not stuck in a tornado and maybe somewhere behind the rainbow!)Also, can you bring those titles here and update it, i am not sure where they are...

Also, Tracey dear, i think you are still needed in the laundry room regardless!! LOL!!!! You have to go to Mark on that one and be excused!!

Tracey - please count DH and I in the wine tasting.

Why do you think that is my username? DH and I collect wines (and drink them too). We have about 300 in our wine cellar

I'm working on getting everything I can from the May Repo cruisers. We're friendly with at least four cruisers over there :smooth: I've been promised daily updates!! My thought with the wine tasting was to see the Navigators from the May cruise and see what day makes the most sense. If there's enough of us doing the tasting, those 5 days at sea could be used up drinking all the wine we have :earboy2:

Duplicate post. I guess when they say server too busy, they mean you are posting too

This means we have:

Winotracy (2)
Kmiles (2)
Winnyis (2)

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Gotta admit, those activities on Princess sounds cool though!!(rock climbing on the ocean!!)

Come on, fess up, Melinda!! How many times have you gone rock climbing in your life?? I'll be the first to admit...I've never done it-even on dry land...so why would I want to climb a moving rock at sea!! Hell, I have enough trouble just climbing the stairs!

That is great about the Nav's!!

BTW, count me and Bob for the wine tasting too!! Can't guarentee how i am going to act after all those tasting!! You have to be responsible for me!! LOL!! :hyper: and don't leave me with the LOONEY HOODS either!! There is no telling what they would do with me!! I will just too vulnerable!!

DUP......AARRRGGHHH!!! :badpc:  :badpc:

Ok, Bob, don't raise your cane at me!!! I admit, i never went rock climbing ever in my entire life...Not even at the Carnivals...BUT, there is a first time for everything!!!! :earboy2:
BTW, i will be happy to wheel you around the ship so YOU don't have to climb the stairs. But i am not responsible if i did indeed measure the ship wrong so therefore you will end up being wheeled overboard....(i only had a 12 in. ruler stick, so what did you expect??) :rotfl:

For a recent cruise that stopped at Antigua there was a special CC gift for return cruisers ... a blanket instead of a towel ... I can see them ordering something "special" for the repo cruises PLUS the Mexican Riviera cruises (so ordering 15,000 or so wouldn't be bad).

We got the blanket since we went on the cruise to Antigua. It's really nice and shows a map of the islands we cruised to. It was nice to get that instead of the towel again. We also got a special litho on this cruise. We had it signed by Ducky Williams since he was onboard. It will be nice if we get one on this cruise too. There were also special pins and t-shirts for sale of the Ports of Call (Puerto Rico and Antigua).

As for being bored, I know we won't be. I plan on spending a lot of time on our veranda reading and just relaxing. There are also shows that we haven't seen, and there's always Bingo! I plan on using this cruise to just relax and have fun. Besides, Disney will more than likely have lots of things planned for us to do.

The wine tasting sounds great to me. Count us in. Tracy - I'll send you a PM.

We're friends with 6 people going on that cruise so I should be able to get copies of the navigators.

Reneé

Edited to add - I just saw the post Tracy made about knowing 4 people on the May Repo cruise. We both know the same 4 people so we should definitely be able to get something from them.

Sure beats anything to do with Laundry :D

Count Martin and I in for your wine-tasting event! (He's very picky about wines, but I can always "help" him with any he's not fond of! )
