August 20, 2005 - L.A. to Port Canaveral - Eastbound Repo Cruise - The SHIP OF FOOLS Part 2

Hi everyone. Just a reminder about the cruise gift exchange. I'll set something up for January or February but I wanted to give you a heads up in case you do some post-holiday bargain shopping. I'm thinking about a $20 minumum for each exchanger to send. (Max is up to you!!) Items should relate to the cruise or traveling. It could be something you use while you cruise or afterward (such as a picture frame to fit those weird 5 X 8 Disney photos). Kids are welcome to exchange as well. Kid gifts might include books, games, swim gear or whatever you think up. To lessen postage I'll try to group families together if they are doing both adult and children's exchanges. More info later. When I get this started I'll post on this thread but start the actual exchange thread separately on the cruise board.

Hey girlfriend Arlene, what in the heck are you doing up so late??? Hugs, and go to sleep! Sweet dreams of our August 20th vacation...you are another of our cruisemates who always has responsibilities on your mind. You too deserve a vacation!!!!!!!

Barbara :)

Ahhhh, the "exciting" life of a network administrator. I was working on getting a server back online when I popped over to check out our thread. Dreaming about our August 20 cruise is my favourite pastime these days! It's interesting - I've only met one of our cruise family in person (Hi, Janet :cool1: ) but I've "talked" more to you guys during the past six months than any of my local friends! :earseek: When I was writing my holiday cards, I thought a bunch of you should have been on my mailing list! :D

I'm back in the office this morning, trying to wrap up things. I'm scheduled to work until 4:00 Thursday, but there's a major storm warning for our area beginning tonight: 10" - 15" of snow, followed by freezing rain and ice pellets. :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: If it materializes, I'd really like the option of working from home tomorrow and not coming in here.

Janet - glad you found an outfit for Tanya. I have no problems getting Lara into dresses - it's harder to get her to wear jeans! She's dreaming of a lovely gown for formal nights, WITH A TIARA no less! :cloud9: (Her Godmother actually bought her a tiara for Christmas - I can't wait to see her reaction.)

Have a Great Day, Everyone!!!

Arlene

Alternatively we could do a stateroom to stateroom exchange. What I mean by this is that it wouldn't matter how many people are in your party we'll just set a minimum to spend and you may exchange with a solo traveler or it could be a family of 4. You'd still spend the same amount of money but who you buy for would vary. Any thoughts?

Thanks so much for remembering this! (I already bought something as part of our "gift" to someone. :D ) I've never done one, so any suggestions re. gift ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm happy to participate in whatever format works best for everyone.

Any Exchange is fine by me! I love doing them!

Arlene ~ When did you hear about this storm?? I have not heard a news report in days! Don't want to hear this one!

Just as long as it's not on Saturday! ARRRRRR!

Hi Janet! For storm updates, check "The Weather Network" for the winter storm watch.

It's not looking good for tomorrow so plan to not go to work :umbrella: , but everything will be great by Saturday!

Yes, fess up! We all want to know!

We got engulfed by Grumbo's arctic cold front last night. Just an inch of snow, but it does not show even a hint of melting, even with the sun out. Brrrrrrr! Take it back!

On the up side, I get to book my vacation at SSR for next Thanksgiving tomorrow! Woohoo!

All I gotta say is it better not his Florida or Grumbo's a dead man.

Fess up???? I say it's the one in the front row in the pink!

Has anyone else noticed that pink is coming back in for young men? We all know the grunge look ended with the 90's. The 60's/70's flashback (think the so-called "boot leg" flared jeans and low-ride jeans for men) seemed to come and go in the blink of an eye (sometime after 9/11), and now we're heading back to the Miami-Vice 80's fashion trends.

I mean, pink polo's on men? What's next, white pants and dress jackets to go with the pink shirts?

OK, so, what were we talking about?

Oh, yes! Guess the Mark!

I still say its the guy front row far left with his head on backwards!

My rationale:

1. By his own admission, Mark did not look forward to his TOT experience.
2. At the time this photo was taken, he was at the height of his fear factor.
3. Instincts took over, he wanted to hide any way he could.
4. He had sudden flashbacks to his famous post of the guy with his head where the sun don't shine!
5. Fear told him that's what he wanted to do.
6. The safety bar prevented him from putting his head between his legs
7. In the TOT photo, he is improvising...he is attempting to go a different route over his back and down! Had to put his head on backwards to see the path!

You mean that guy holding the "other woman's" hand? :jester: He said which one was his DD, which means that my memory was correct about the picture that used to be in his sig. I remember what she looked like and the guy in the blue is Mark. C'mon Mark, put down the glue and back me up!

Oh Mark is such a coward!!! He is even avoiding us here!!! :sad2:
