As one of the Fools with a verandah -- we will welcome visitors in our cabin during the transit.

We had Capt. Thom for one of our previous cruises --

Well, everyone, you heard it! D&N party in Erica's room during the passage! :cool1:

That is my 10 yr old DD's room. :guilty:

I think that is EVERYBODY's Kids room at that age!LOL

Just remember, when they clean their room ~ DO NOT LOOK UNDER THEIR BEDS!

PS ~ Touching the Locks, is that like the Blarney Stone and you make a wish?

JGE HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!!

You ask and we heard!! Hurry, occupancy is limited!!

During the transit of the locks of the Panama Canal, a D&N party is being held in Erica's stateroom. We aren't sure just which Cat. 6 she'll be in, but more info will follow. Admission is free to all and Grumbo has asked for a small fee for anyone who wishes to "Touch the Locks". (Is that what they call them in Canada??) Jazzman has offered another round of free Zinfandel for those attending. Size of your round to be determined by the number attending!

I think what you're talking about is illegal here in the states... except for some places in Nevada!!

A Panamax ship is one that is built specifically to just fit within the locks, both back to back and side to side.

We sailed the Sun Princess and she was a Panamax ship. There was very little room on either side of the ship, less than 1 foot, I think.

The captain of the ship does not actually take the ship through the canal. They have specially trained people that do that.

:earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

An interesting, if dirty in my gutter mind, statement!

There are two shows on the Panama Canal tonight starting at 8pm on PBS.

I have a few moments to write...Just got back from CC and the kids are dumping themselves in the Mickey pool right now...

There is sustainable damage from the hurricane that i see on CC but they are working on it, but not too bad. (newbies wouldn't notice it) I am sure Izzi will notice it too on friday. Bulldozers, cranes and cement trucks there. They told me that it will be in top notch shape by the time we get to CC on Repo cruise!!

Banana boats was awesome...We need to get a few fools and ride together!!

Also learned another fact: there was a guest (woman) that went overboard from Disney ship 3 years ago..she was drunk and fell off the deck 9!! Ship had to stop and rescued her. Any of you heard about that?? That was news to me...A CM told me that story today on CC... I forgot to ask him was it the Magic or Wonder. That got me thinking and worry about us drunk fools!!!!! LOL!!

Bye!!

Actually I am surprised that DCL will let us on board after Melinda & Bob warn them that we are coming.

Maybe we shoud wear life preservers for the parties ?

Just remember -- JGE - at the D & N I get a cut of the proceeds :earboy2:

I really didn't think the damage was all that noticeable on CC. The vegetation was brown and of course the dredging was going on but really nothing all that bad. Comparing our pictures over that last few trips we could only "see" it in the vegetation. Denine, what did you think?

Where the hell is everyone???

Since the upgrade, I don't get too many notifications. Without them, I actually stay focused on my work and forget to check here!

Thanks for checking in, Melinda! I can't believe your cruise is almost over - we'll still be "settling in" on Day 3 next year. :cheer2:

Have a great day, everyone!

Arlene

I have a feeling after Christmas it's gonna seem like a loooooong time until the cruise.

Are we going to do a Fool Cruise Exchange after the holidays?

I think it best if we wait until after the Holidays!

Too much going on right now and that way it will help eliviate the wait!

Will you let everyone "touch the locks" too?
My recollection was that it was Grumbo who offered to let people touch his locks (he's got more than one?). Based on that I declined, but I'll go back and read it again...
