I booked airfare for our group today from Philadelphia to LAX for $89 each. I think we are going to be staying at the Crowne Plaza in Anaheim for $82 a night for Wednesday and Thursday night and then move to the San Pedro Holiday Inn for Friday night. I will start looking for return airfare in a couple of weeks.

What airlines was that??

:thewave:

Thanks everyone for the wishes on our anniversary.
Someone asked where we went to dinner last night. We went to a restaurant called The Apollo. It is in downtown Bethlehem, Pa. Excellent food a wee bit pricey, and the ambiance is odd. Of course most of the people on this thread would love it. The bar is right in the middle of the dinning room.
The parrot has a name. Of course I think everything at WDW has a name.

Hope everyone who is even remotely near here is planning on coming to the big Dis meet next July in Allentown. Going to be really neat. Come one come all!!

Talk to you all tomorrow.

Estelle

Happy Anniversary Estelle and Phil. I wish you many, many more wonderful years of cruising together ! Hey, I love the wig idea. That would be great for us to do this for AuntyBrat!

How did you do this? When I tried, I got this error "Outbound Date must occur within 329 days of today's date."

We're planning on leaving Thursday, August 18 at night. When are you flying out?

Thanks,

Reneé

She must be leaving on an earlier date. Tomorrow is 329 days out for you. I'm impatiently waiting for Friday so I can book mine for Aug 19.

I was looking at flights from Portland to LA. The cheapest was $153 and it took 5 hours to get there.:earseek: It was $214 for a non-stop flight. I think I'll wait and see what Southwest will do!

Paul

US Air also has Philadelphia to LA for $89.00. I just have to wait until tomorrow to get mine.

Jennifer

I saw that price from Philly too but I think we are going to wait a while to get the tickets since they are non-refundable. You never know what will happen between now and cruise time. Seems a bit early to me to buy the tickets.

I am just confused about somthing....How come the airlines are cheap to fly one way?? I remember it used to be soo expensive that way and that round trip tickets were much cheaper!! You guys are buying tickets from XX to LAX but haven't look into MCO to XX..You mean to tell me that it will be just a cheap??? I mean i am looking at COntinental from Newark to La and MCO to Newark and it is $519 round trip!!!  (of course, i am using another date going back because we will fly back on 9/3 because it is too far in advance but it a general idea of fares) Sounds like Philly is pretty cheap but of course it is 11/2-2 hours from here. I would have to take a limo or somthing to get there. Lehigh valley is only 15mins and Newark is 50 mins...The cheaper the airlines, the happier i will be!!

I don't know why but perhaps it it is because the flights are in markets that compete with Southwest now and they've always offered one way tickets. For example Philly just got service from Southwest in May and that's when I noticed a drop in airfare. Also maybe it has to do with them adding on fees/surcharges. The airfare may appear cheaper but they still have to add on the fees each way. For example the $89 one way price from Philly to LAX probably doesn't include the fees/taxes.

Go to www.farechase.com. When you punch in all your data, it will upload every airline that has flights on those days and times and what their prices are, and whether there are connections. BE SURE TO check one-way fare at the top before you hit search.

I CAN'T STAND IT ANYMORE!!!!

Now Jeanne is headed right for a landfall in EastCentral Florida (i.e.-Brevard County, i.e.-my home, i.e.-Port Canaveral)!!!!

Anyone want to trade a Florida home for one anywhere else without floods, hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes, volcanos, or blizzards!!!

My dad's birthplace, North Battleford, Saskatchewan is looking better every day!!!!

You're right, the $89 fare becomes $110 after fees, taxes, surcharges. But it's still a good deal so far.

Thanks...I did look, and basically EWR and ABE (lehigh valley) is more expensive than Philly...PHOOEY!! I really prefer one of the 2 because My parents is only 25 mins from Newark and ABE is here by my house.... Either airport would suit me fine...Philly is just too far and will have to stay overnight the night before and get a limo and such.....I guess I am going to have to do extensive research now!!! Nothing is easy in life anymore!!!! SIGH!!!

Izzinamac, Prayers and Pixe Dust on your way....I haven't look at the weather channel yet but i can't believe Jeanne may come inland!!!

Hey, Bob - since you've had "exposure" to the great Canadian climate, maybe you'd enjoy our bitterly cold winter in the Greater Toronto Area! It's not so much the low temps that make winter miserable here as the dampness that sends the cold right through you.

I'm really sorry you guys are preparing for YET ANOTHER hurricane, though. Hopefully it will change direction or fizzle before it gets to you.

Arlene

I'd suggest moving to Oregon but we have all those things EXCEPT hurricanes!

Paul

We are flying out on Wednesday night. It's a non-stop flight from Philadelphia to LAX that leaves PHILA at 9PM. We paid $89 per person, taxes included. The total for 5 of us was $445. I have been looking at flights returning from Orlando for about $92 each. They are with US Airways and I am a bit leary about booking with them at this point for something that far off. If it were in the next few months maybe.
