Just a quick note to tell everyone all is ok here. I have no DSL connection at home and limited computer capability at work. What a fun time we had during Frances!!! Ugh!!!

My heart goes out to Lynda, Mike, and David and all their family. Thought about them a lot during the storm fiasco and the first thing I saw when I was able to get back online was the loss of Sophie!

For those still interested, I was able to arrange HoJo Discounted Reservations and have access to good prices for shuttle service from DL to the port. (Depending on #'s who want to use it , from $18 per person to posibly as low as $11/person) Assuming I get my DSL back by this weekend, I will post details for both!

Hi Bob - Glad you "weathered" the storm reasonably well. We heard from Gassmandy that everyone was camped at your place for awhile:sunny:

We're definitely interested in booking the HOJO Anaheim before the cruise, arriving on August 15. Is the original deal still available for us (15% off the posted room rates)? I'll need to book two rooms until August 19, when we're currently booked into the Holiday Inn San Pedro.

Depending on the port transfer arrangements, it might be easier to stay the extra night at HOJO rather than move for one night (although there'll be a great party at Holiday Inn!)

Keep us posted - hopefully everyone in the path of these latest hurricanes will stay safe.

Arlene

Arlene,
Yes the HoJo rates are 15% off and there was no increase from this year to next, and August was cheaper than mid Summer. Don't have the exact rates here with me, but there were at least three types of rooms listed (you can get any category you want for the 15% off - even if not listed) and the rates were in the $70-80 range. As soon as I find all my stuff, and can get a reliable internet connection, I will post the details, including procedures. I know we have plenty of time to get the good rates, and Willie from HoJo said he would make sure we got the best rooms in our category and even place the group in rooms near each other. Hopefully, I can get the details out this weekend
Bob

Bob: That sounds great. Anxiously awaiting the rest of the details. We are very interested.

All in the path of Ivan: Stay safe

Bob, We are interested too. DH (aka " the Lurker") will be doing the reservation when we get the info. Thanks for the work this entailed.
Hope everyone in the path of Ivan stays safe and sound.
Seems like Fall is arriving in the North East. A little cooler and darker earlier. Oh well in a little less than 3 months we'll be in WDW enjoying the Christmas decorations. I am really looking forward to that. Never seen them before.

It feels like fall here in the Northwest too. Low 60s for the high the next few days.

Keep safe everyone in IVAN's path!

Enough lurking they say!

I too will be joining this rowdy bunch on the repositioning cruise next year! Can't wait to meet all of you.

Welcome kmiles! :)

Been feeling a little anxious about the number of hurricanes this season, and the locations of them, so I did a little research. In the last 30 years, there have been 7 hurricanes directly affecting CC, only 2 of which were at the time we will be there (9/3, 9/4), both category 2. There were three Tropical Storms in the range between 8/24 and 9/3. So 5 storms in the past 30 years.

I found some cool historical storm track websites:
http://www.broadcast-weather.net/track/track.html
and
http://www.hurricanetrack.com/JavaHist/

You never know when those storms will hit. That's the problem. On our Disney cruise in April of '03 we were on a mystery cruise because of bad weather and high seas. Our route was completely changed. We had a great time though. The only thing that would really really bother me in a BIG BIG way would be missing Castaway Cay entirely. That would ruin the trip. I'd rather go to CC than any other port.

Welcome kmiles! Who is in your party?

New Orleans has made it with little problems from Ivan. Everyone in this aria is safe and sound

DId you guys know there is a DCL change policy for it, effective immediatley??

For 10 nights or more crusies, final payments are due 90 days before the sailing instead of the 60 days. Deposit has increased from $250 to $350 per person, within 5 days after booking not 7 days...

I would assume that this policy is for any new reservations but not for existing ones....I hope we can still pay the final at 60, not 90 days....

I wonder what the cancellation policy is now for the 90 day payment??? I liked the 60 day out final payment only because if you needed to cancel you could do so without penalty for up to 60 days prior to sailing.

I'm a bad girl. I never set up an account so that I could post them. PM me with your e-mail address and I'll send you some pix.

Exactly my thoughts, kathy!!!
I just checked my Disney ressies on the disneycruise.com and it still stated that final payments is due on June 21, 2005 and i hope it stays that way!!

My understanding is that the new policy applies to reservations made on or after September 8, 2004. Our final balance is still due June 21, 2005.

Just some info for your trip planning.....

We put a deposit down on our hotel package for next year through AAA. They work directly with the Walt Disney Vacations office. Here is what we are getting:

- Two sets of pins and lanyards
- Free parking voucher for Disneyland parks
- 4-day park hopper pass
- AAA Diamond Fun Book (discount coupons)
- Preferred Seating for all restaurants and shows
- One morning's entry into Mickey's Toon Town Morning Madness
- One morning's early entry into Fantasyland
- ESPN game card
- Four-day passes for each of us on ART (Anaheim's shuttle service which services all of the attractions and restaurants in Anaheim. Passes normally cost $14/pp).
- 4-night stay in a Junior Suite (queen size bed and separate bedroom with a daybed and TV) at the Anabella Inn

I know I'm leaving out something, but don't have the AAA brochure with me at work. I loved the free parking voucher since we will be renting a car in Las Vegas and driving to L.A.
Anyway, after much research and travel agent input, I'm happy with the hotel, it's location and it's reputation.

Now, just to find some decent air fare!

I understand if you pay in full by 90 days you can book your shore trips at 90days instead of the old 60 days, so we might know more about the trips 30 days earlier now.

Can't wait to hear from the May Repo cruisers about all the extra activities and menus and excursions. At least we'll have a little bit of a heads up from them.
