BARBARA: Have a speedy recovery.

Everyone remember tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM to say a prayer for baby Sophie:angel: or at least have her in your thoughts.

Hope you all have a great weekend. Supposed to be really hot

:sunny: again this weekend. Toodles:wave2: :earsgirl: JEANNE

Will all be saying a prayer for Sophie and the family at 8 tomorrow morning. We have been keeping them in our prayers.

Barb hope you're going to get better real fast.
Estelle, Phil, Jen and Elza

I really like the dot on the watch idea--pray for Sophie and family whenever I look at my watch, but I intend to try the 8 am prayer time too. Thanks to Estelle for letting me know of the Ritter family's loss so I can be part of the prayer chain.
Prayer time is 8 am Central?

{Cruised with Estelle and Phil October 2002 and have known them since God made the trees.
I have been lurking here on and off since early May.}

It's been hard to post here - it seems so trivial in light of what has happened to Lynda and her family.

Another thought for those of us left to try to make sense of this . . . I saw a child who was badly burned once. It was a horrible memory that will never leave me.We were building a house at the time; the ADT man assured me that I didn't need nearly as many smoke detectors as I wanted. I told him I didn't care - I wanted to make sure my child would never suffer like the one I had seen. The cheap detectors that many of us have in our homes may not warn us in time to get out of a burning house. There are 2 types - photoelectric and ionization; they each work best in different types of fires. As I recall, ionization detectors are the less expensive type and they work better with flames but aren't so great for slow, smoky fires. Photoelectric detectors work better for the latter type of fire. You should have both types in your home; there are dual detectors available also.

I've talked with my kids about our fire plan, but this weekend I'm going to set off the fire detectors and see how they would do in a real emergency. This tragedy has reminded me how important it is to be prepared. My Grace is just a little younger than Emma was- I can't imagine my life without her.

overslept here little bit, but here now and did my prayers...

All we can do at this point is that we humans beings have to put trust and faith in the Lord above and let him take control of Sophie. Remember, He answeres every prayers, but not always how we wanted and we don't always have the understanding why life happens the way it happens. I also prayed for Lynda, Mike and David to have stregnth to get through this...

AMEN....

I just went out and bought these dual detectors from Home Depot because of this tragedy. It has really got me thinking so I wound up buying more than I had. I also bought more carbon monoxide detectors too. I bought these in dual too (they detect carbon monoxide and natural gas).

This kind of tragedy puts everything in a different light, doesn't it? It makes you grateful for every second of every day.

In case anyone is buying one day tickets for DL, I thought this might be helpful. If you have a Disney Visa card, you can save $10 off the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Commemorative Ticket for Disneyland. The normal price is $59 so you get it for $49. It is a one day, one park ticket that you can buy in advance, and the best part is it NEVER expires. I just called and confirmed this. Just call this number 714-781-4400 to get the tickets. I decided to get these since we are only going to be able to go to DL for one day, and I like the idea of having my tickets before we go so we don't have to wait in line to buy them when we get there.

You know the regular tickets for 1 day admission are less than that right? I think they hiked the price of the Twilight Zone tickets up because they are supposedly collectable tickets.

I checked Disneyland online and the regular one day, one park tickets are $49.75. These are $49.00 so actually these are cheaper.

I thought that the ticket for one day at DL was for everything. Or did I get that wrong? Is the TofT a separate ticket? I am a bit confused.
We might actually be going to DW in December. So we will actually get to see the Christmas decorations. I have always wanted to see it snow on Main Street. As yet DH is still considering but I am applying gentle pressure. And quietly hoping.
Off to dinner now.

Estelle, if you go to WDW at Christmas time make sure that you go to MVMCP. It is wonderful. The parade, the extended WISHES, the programs, the snow. Just everything about it is wonderful. Of course the Candelight Processional at Epcot is a must see!

I have been to WDW every December for the past three or four years & it is truly beautiful. Last year they didn't have the Osborne lights but I hear they are back. Last year we met up with some of our cruisers from the year before & that was really fun.:grouphug: The one thing about Orlando in December is that the weather is unpredictable - one year we had temp's in the 80-90's:sunny:, one year it rained & rained:umbrella: & last year it was nice but a little cool. A MUST SEE is the "Candlelight Procession". Just putting in my two cents....

Have a great Monday. Toodles:wave2: :earsgirl: JEANNE

The ToT ticket is an entrance ticket commemorating the opening of the ride. So you don't have to worry, any ticket will cover all the attractions in the park even tot. Well, let me say that unless you buy a hopper (or two seperate tickets) you can not see both parks in one day. And Tot is in DCA. The deal on the tickets that Reneé gave is a great one.

I too will be in wdw Nov 26 and Dec 4 -9 ( before and after our first Cruise :Pinkbounc ). We are planning on going to MVMCP on the 5th. We were there last year at that same time and loved it. It was so beautiful. My birthday is dec 6 and we got the tickets for the 5th so when the clock struck 12 we were right on Main Street with the Disney Snow falling. It was magical.

We will be at WDW on Dec 17th before the 10 day cruise. It's good to see the Osbourne lights back this year!
