Melinda, When you go to Epcot for dinner, ask your server for the special dish for Ship of Fools Sisterhood members only. It's called the seppuku special. Bet you don't have the guts to try it. You probably couldn't stomach it. It is a cut above most other cuisine.
Melinda - not a good idea. If you see it on the menu, you might want to remove all sharp objects from the table.

I could go into details but I've spilled my guts enough for now I guess...

Nah, we're ahead of the curve here. Unfortunately we're having trouble coming up with enough Tire Money for our new program...

Seeing that we've never picked on Paulcrsb, I think it's his turn.

A newcomer to Portland arrives on a rainy day. She gets up the next day and it's raining. It also rains the day after that, and the day after that. She goes out to lunch and sees a young kid and, out of despair, asks, ''Hey, kid, does it ever stop raining around here?'' The kid says, ''How should I know? I'm only 8.'"
________________

Question: What do you call two straight days of rain in Portland?
Answer: A weekend.
________________
It only rains twice a year in Portland: August through April and May through July.
________________
Question: What does daylight-saving time mean in Portland?
Answer: An extra hour of rain.

What did the Portland native say to the Pillsbury Doughboy?
Nice tan.
Thanks Mark! You know what's sad? All of these are pretty much true!!! LOL!!!

Hmmmmm - too many samurai movies, Mark????? You can count on ALL of the "Sisters" to decline that option!

Barbara - how are you feeling??? I've missed you posting this week - I thought something was up. Sorry you've been sick! There seem to be so many cold/flu bugs going around right now. 1/3 of our MIS department has been out sick so far. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Hi Melinda!

I hope your ds is feeling better...it tis' so busy on the cruise. Good for you guys going with the pace that's needed for your family.

Wish we had DVC's here...I see how much you and everyone else enjoy them. They just did not buy enough land around DL... :(

I just love reading your posts, you crack me up! Can't wait to meet you, I'm really looking forward to it!

Hope your dinner in Japan and the Christmas show were as special as the rest of your trip. Thanks for all your posts!

You are darned right you got promoted!!!

Anyone who plans their beverages that well and then has empty suitcases for souvenirs, AND who also will be the main sister in charge of directing the disposal of the LooneyFOOLs clothing off your verandah is indeed leadership material!!! :)

Hi Arlene,

This cold got the best of me, but feeling better each day. Sounds like your work has it just like mine. :( Stay healthy...know you weren't feeling so good last week. Hope you are doing well now! Best part of this is that I have a hoarse voice...not so good when teaching kids how to talk is the main part of my job, lol!

Hey, I saw that your Lara will be nine on the cruise? My dd will be 10, so I hope they can hang out together!!! Will you let Lara go off on the ship with friends? I'm an overprotective mom, and I'm not sure I'll let her... My ds age 13 no problem, but with dd, we're much more cautious even in well protected places.

OK, off my table here...

TGIF tomorrow Arlene!

Hmm... still trying to pay for the cruise with Canadian Tire Money :earboy2:

Actually - this is a real story from Yahoo - Oddly Enough column today

Too funny Erica! Hope to go to DL/DCA in January, maybe sooner for dh and dd as they are tired of waiting for me! I will PM you to get your addy for the flyers then.

Hi Barbara - one of the guys in the office is trying to blame ME for being the one to make everyone else sick! Of course, he takes time off at the first sign of a sniffle, so someone who hangs in until they are really sick just ticks him off. (I actually ended up home for 2-1/2 days, though!)

That would be so cool if the DD's get to hang out together! Lara was asking about that, but I wasn't sure how the age split goes in the Lab. There's usually lots of "storming the lab" time to just hang out there, so they can be together then.

No way I'm letting her have "sign-out" privileges, though!!! She's a kid who's escorted when she goes to play with the little girl next door! It's a sad commentary on the times we're living in, but she doesn't know anything different and is horrified at the idea of being "alone" somewhere. We may be overprotective, but it works well for all of us. Most of her friends' parents are the same way.

TGIF! It's actually a vacation day for me tomorrow :flower1: We have an interview with Lara's teacher, then we'll do some Christmas decorating.

:grouphug: Sisters do not do laundry for stinky men, and they certainly don't do it when the stinky men assign it. Perhaps they have mistaken us for people who like them or enjoy their crusty clothes. I agree with Susan about tossing them in the ocean, I am just afraid of the polution it will cause and the threat to wild life. Therefore, to mitigate this, I suggest we throw the crusty clothes into the trash compactors with the men in them. Seems more ecologically sound. Garbage in, garbage out.

Oh and Mark, as for that picture you posted of me...I only wish I had that much hair. As I am still suffering the effects of chemo, I can only assume that you are an unfeeling bat rastard who wants to make me cry and inflame the other sisters into doing worse things than trash compacting you.... :cheer2: But don't worry....revenge is a dish best served cold....

Barbara, you must be a blast at the office holiday party. Give this gal a gift and she throws it back at you. You know, "Sometimes a cigar, is just a cigar" (yes Bob, that one's mine too).

Laura, you are my kind of sister!!!

Thanks to AuntyBrat - Director of Sisterhood Bureau of Investigation:

Yeah, yeah, yeah...I'm just waiting for the picture you have behind the letterhead!!!!!!!

BTW, I am definitely the life of the party at all parties, just ask my dh. I'm sure the rest of our Sisterhood are also. Should be quite a treat for all you LooneyFOOLs!

This board is crazy sometimes, I did not see your post Arlene, and luckily I scrolled up again.

Anyway, so glad you took some days off, you must have felt crummy. Yeah, these guys who take a lot of sick days... Good for you having the upper hand, LOL!

I agree with you about not signing out, but when they turn 10, I think they can go as they please in the lab. I plan to find out how to keep dd there. Glad to meet another protective mom!!!

Enjoy your vacation day tomorrow, sounds wonderful! I usually have Fridays off, but I have a staff luncheon followed by a department meeting that I'm obligated too, then I have another meeting to attend that I'm doing to help out a colleague. One of those times I wished I said no, but it's for a good cause.

Luckily I'm part-time, so I really should not complain. Plus, I'll get 2 1/2 weeks off with my kids and some with dh in just two weeks...HURRAY!

Stay well!

Barbara

Now Laura, I am aware of your ongoing rehab and truly wish for a complete and full recovery, that said, I relish the opportunity to meet up with you and have some more laughs. You seem in great spirits when sparing with all of us here and seem to (notice the word SEEM) hold your own. These boards, and in particular, this thread usually brings a smile to my face each time I log on.

Why can't we just get along??
