August 2, 2011 disney dream

Looks like I'm late to this thread, but my wife and I will be celebrating our 15th anniversary on this cruise. Room 5542 - I think! 1st Cruise and we are VERY excited - kids are staying home with Grandma and Grandpa.

Is there a summary of the activities you are doing anywhere?

Dan Scott

Hi Dan!:wave2: Glad you found the thread and welcome aboard!:welcome:

We have a pretty great group here and hopefully you can read through the whole thread. We don't have a lot of things planned but below are a few of the DIS meets we have scheduled. Congrats on your 15th anniversary and spending it on a Disney cruise is awesome!

DIS Meets

Aug 1st - Pre-cruise at WDW

Belle Vue Lounge at BWV after 9:30pm. Right now we are planning on doing Illuminations then walking back to BWV and have a drink or two in the lounge before heading to the room.

Aug 2nd - Embarkation Day

3pm meet - Bon Voyage Lounge - Deck 3 Mid-ship. I changed the time to 3pm but I will probably be there around 2:30pm.

Sail Away - unless it is raining we will be on deck 12(terminal side) for the sail away party if anyone wants to join us there.

Got my nightly call from Alyssa a little bit ago. She had an awesome day!

They did the shark cage dive today (no blood this time;)) and they also got to do a portion of the swim test that is given to the trainers. This was really good for Alyssa because even though a possible job as a trainer is still several years away she was already getting nervous about the swim test. She did really great so that makes her feel a lot better. She also found the whale ring she was looking to replace so it was a fantastic day for her. They are off to Discovery Cove tomorrow to swim with the dolphins.

Its BEAUTIFUL, Jeanne!

Now, I'm going to have to commission you to do stuff for me for our upcoming trips. You should open an eBay store!

Awww, thank you! I used to sell on etsy. Now it's mostly through FB or friends and neighbors. I

Jeanne, outstanding job on the FE! :thumbsup2 It looks great

Thank you!

Welcome! DH and I are leaving the (4) kiddos with Auntie and Uncle and cruising for our 20th anniversary! Congrats on 15 years! Somewhere in those previous pages I have been updating a cruise list. I will try to update it and bump it up tomorrow.

Jeanne - that's a great looking FE. Awesome job!:thumbsup2

It sounds like another amazing day. I'm glad she got to take a practice swim test! It always helps to know what to expect.

Fabulous job. What type of machine to you use?

Congrats on your anniversary, and WELCOME!

Fabulous job. What type of machine to you use?

Thanks! I have a Singer Futura which I kind of hate! But it does the job. It just likes to pretend the thread breaks every 5 seconds even though it doesn't so I have to constantly babysit it and restart it. :headache: My friends with Brother machines really like theirs.

First time cruisers from Chicago!

Hi All! My husband and I & 2 daughters (12 and 8) will be sailing for our first time August 2nd ! We are all so excited :yay:! I purchased a fish extender from ebay and was wondering if another family would like to do it with us? I am really new to all of this so I am not quite sure of the protocol.

Thanks,
Kim

Welcome Aboard. I took ownership of the Fish Extender list. Unfortunately, we closed the Fish Extenders on July 5th. Some people are crafty and make theirs from scratch so we wanted to give everyone time to make theirs. One stateroom participating in this group is already in Florida (came from Switzerland) so I couldn't re-open it. I'm sorry.

Jham - thanks for adding us to the list. We are cruising with friends so our info is:

Dan - 37
Diane - 39
celebrating 15th anniversary

Tim - 41
Diane - 42
Celebrating 20th anniversary

Wow :sad2:

From what I was reading from google searches etc.. it doesn't have to be this big orchestrated event. It can simply be two families doing the exchange.

Again, if any family would like to do an exchange, please contact me. :yay:

If need be, I will be filling my daughters' Fish Extender myself, not a big deal. I want them to participate in the magic too.:wizard:

Hugs from Chicago!

Check your private messages. I sent you a note at 1:33 telling you I would be willing to do this with you. Lots of people are already done with their fish extenders. My FE and gifts have already been shipped to Florida.
