When does school start for y'all? Ours starts August 24. The summer is going by WAY too fast!!!

When does school start for y'all? Ours starts August 24. The summer is going by WAY too fast!!!

Way, way too fast! Ours starts August 18, and we have a "transition day" for incoming 7th graders (to middle school, will be my 12 y/o DS) and incoming 9th graders (to high school, will be my 15 y/o DS) on August 14. Transition day is just a shortened school day so they can get used to the new school & schedule.

So ... we get back on Aug. 8. I took Monday the 10th off to pick up school schedules (we are missing enrollment & schedule pick-up while we're on the cruise). Friday the 14th is Transition Day, and Tuesday the 18th is first day of school.

I should hear from DCL soon whether our brunch request for the private room at Palo was granted.

We are out here in Flower Mound at the AAYB World Series of baseball. For those who aren't familiar with the area, we are close to DFW airport. There are 64 teams in Andrew's division -- 13 year olds. We have been staying out here since Friday because it's a long drive for us. We played at 12 today, then have another game tonight at 10 p.m. That's around my bedtime on week night's. We don't play tomorrow, but will play every other day and hopefully be done on Saturday.

That is exciting! Our pre-stay docs arrived last week, but I haven't had time to go through them. I guess I need to make time to do that. I don't think the cruise ones have arrived yet.

Thank you! They did win last night. Today is when they seed the teams, then we play again tomorrow, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I appreciate the good thoughts and prayers. He's having a good tournament so far.

Hi all! Bennett and Johnna open their show on Thursday, then a week of band camp and vacation bible school, then MY show opens and then we PACK!!!!

And somewhere in there I have to clean this house so that the cat sitter isn't terrified of our mess.

Okay thanks! We may do that too. We are doing the St. John snorkel/beach thing, but we have had trouble deciding on what to do in St. Maarten. With two teen boys, I don't think I really want to be at the clothing optional beach (although I'm sure Jonathan and Philip would not mind!), but a tour could be a good way to get in a little beach, a little shopping (definitely want to see the Yoda guy!), and an overview of the island.

If you're talking about the "French Riviera Beach Rendezvous" I checked out the beach and the nude part of it is much further down than we'll be. Of course their still might be someone headed there that is "nudie patootie" but we're chancing it. Jack is telling everyone that he is heading to the nude beach with his mother-in-law because it sounds spicier that way!

We play today at 3:45 so I better get to work as I have to pick up the boys early from summer school to get Andrew there on time. We're expecting a heat index of between 103 - 106 or more this week. I'm dragging trying to work, be there for baseball and get the house chores done.

2. Our family wish Bennett and Johnna the best! (Will they do the talent show on the ship? Alison thinks about it, but can't decide what to do.) Also, may I ask Johnna's favorite princess?

2a. I had to laugh about your schedule and cleaning. My kids go to VBS the week we leave - their last night is the night before we board the plane. And we, too, need to clean for the cat/fish sitters and I need to do some more before my kids first piano lesson tomorrow!

3. Marci, it is so exciting to hear about your boys! But I can't _believe_ your heat index!! Here in the east, it has been very cool and _very_ rainy this summer. I feel totally unprepared for the Caribbean weather!
