August 19, 2007 Disney Wonder

Welcome Barb,

Looks like we are going to have a lot of young ladies on this cruise. My daughters will be 7, 11 & 15 when we set sail.

I hear from a little birdie that someone sailing on the cruise has my birthday too. It's April 26th!

Family of 4 from Palm Springs ,CA, Booked and excited to be sailing on Aug 19,2007 Got the alnd sea package. Even though we've be to disneyland a few times since we live in So.CA. Can't wait to swap info and expectations with other Wonder guest.

Jen- I'm not sure that we're going to really dress up for Pirate Night. My DS has a pirate t-shirt that I'll have him wear with some black pants, and I'm trying to find something cute for me with the pirate idea, but I can't see myself wearing a costume. I doubt I can get my DH to even wear a pirate shirt. He doesn't even dress up for Halloween :rolleyes1 I'm going to by some clip on earrings and patches, but that's about it.

When we were on the Wonder in June I saw only a few people dressed up. I'm not sure if it's normally like that or not.

We have been on the Wonder the last two years and a few people really dressed up for pirate night, but for the most part, most just had tshirts, accessories and the bandanas they hand out.

Joe, we have girls travelling with our group that are the same age as your daughter (15). Hopefully they will meet and have fun in the teen club.

That would be great. We saw the teen group going to different activities while on the Wonder and again when they got to Castaway Cay and they seemed to all be having a great time together.

But you know how it is with being a teenager. The hardest part for them is making a connection and once they do they could be friends for life.

I will talk to Natalia.

Hi everyone, we have booked too me, wife and DD (will be 14) 2nd cruise last one in 2004.

Its great to see a number of teenage girls will be on the cruise I was a little worried about how DD now 14 would get on. Last time we cruised she really enjoyed the kids club and made some great friends.

Has anyone had any experience of the teen club or teen beach on Castaway Cay?

It would be great to know if some of the girls are going to the teen club on the first night so maybe she could meet with some of the other kids first.

We are going on DVC points and are staying at Boardwalk before cruise, OKW after and finnishing our vacation with 4 nights at Vero Beach.

Look forward to meeting you all

Regards

Phil :cool1:

Hi

We will be sailing on 19th too. Our DD6 would love to 'meet' some other girls before the cruise. Is there anyone out there? She's a 'kind of shy with new people' little girl who loves everything Disney, especially Princesses. She is also a High School Musical fan. I am sure it would make her feel a little easier about the Oceaneers Club.

We'd love to hear from you!

Beverly- I don't have a daughter, but would just like to welcome you and Congratulations on booking! :cheer2:

My DD's are both so different. 12 DD is shy and want to hang with the 14DD
Can the 12DD go to the teen activities with hre sister. How does that work.Do they check ID"S at the door.:) And how would I go about booking a massage on CC

hayy newcomers! i can't wait to meet all of you. also, if any familys on here will be traveling with teenagers, there is a post we have going on for teenagers. you can find it by searching "august 19 cruise 2007" and clicking the first result. there are 5 teenagers in our group ages 14-16. see you all in august!:upsidedow

It's 80 Degrees in Philly today and I am ready to cruise. Too bad we have to wait until August. I've been awol from this thread for a few days trying to work hard to make sure I'm ready when castaway members can book excursions or palos. I'm not sure what I'm going to do but I'm getting ready.

We were on the Wonder two months before my DD turned 13 and she was allowed in the teen club. We did have to meet with the teen counselors first so they could decide if she was mature enough. Good Luck.

This is our first DCL, what are door signs for?

Door signs is a way to personalize your cabin door on the outside in the hallway. There is a thread with lots photos.

We originally did our door signs so our children could figure our which door was our door. It is fun to walk through the hallways looking at them. I just sent a bunch in a care package for some friends going on the Wonder on Easter.

I see there are lots of girls, but are there any teen boys? It is killing my DD (age 12 at the time if the cruise) that she still can't move up. We are planning a girls cruise on the Wonder for Aug. '08, while the guys are doing scout stuff in the Florida keys, so she will get her opportunity at that time. I would like my DS (14) to do some of the teen activities on Castaway Cay, but he is really pushing the fishing trip. He did it last Aug. and it was the highlight of his trip. Oh well.....

We'll be on this cruise. DH, moi, and DS (age 12). It will be a celebration cruise, as DH will be returning from a middle east deployment. We haven't cruised since 2001, so I'm sure I have a lot to catch up on.

Welcome! We are happy that you will join us. You have a lot to celebrate with the safety of your loved one. The count down is getting shorter and shorter.
