August 19, 2007 Disney Wonder

Hi all

I expect the question has been asked before, but we are trying to decide when to make reservations for Palo's and not knowing the dining rotation is causing problems.

I believe from some other posts that the rotation can depend on your seating time and the number and make up of your party.

There are 3 of us including DD 14.

I think we would like to swap when the rotation is on PC any ideas?

Thanks

Phil:cool1:

It is difficult to pick a night at Palo's without knowing your rotation. We always try to go to Palo's on the night one of the restaurants are duplicated. But, you don't know that until you board. That being said, I would make a reservation based on which night you would prefer and then if you want to change, do it as soon as possible at guest services. Good Luck!

More questions less time. We are doing the land and sea pac and is there any opinions on the Diseny dinning packages. It sounds reasonable but that reservation thing at place in the evening scares me because who knows where well be at certain times of the day or night at DW. Please help a clueless rebel:cool1:

We did the dining plan last summer for the first time (it was free at that time). It was a bit of a nuisance to have to make reservations for each day, but necessary. We tried to figure out which park we would be in or near and made a reservation for lunch/dinner. It took a little planning and we didn't always stick to the plan (of course we cancelled each dining reservation we weren't going to make), but other than that, the dining plan was okay...plenty of food. This year we are not doing the dining plan..it was actually too much food for us. Just winging it on our own. Have fun!

If the dining package is for Aug.26 and beyond during "Free Dining" try and make the best guess as to which park you will be at and where you might like to eat. You can find sample menus on the DIS Boards and http://allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm. The more popular places book up even during the non-free dining times. You can try and change them later, but if you can't at least you'll have a place to go. Good luck.

Go ahead a make your dining reservations. You don't have to keep them. But, if you wanna eat, and you're on the dining plan, you need ADRs. Do it as soon as possible.

I've made mine for the second night. It looks like day 2&3 repeat, regardless of your rotation, but I could be wrong.

I also made ressies for the Eco-tour, stingray adventure, and Palo's brunch. Can't get here quick enough!

We did the stingray adventure last year and we had alot of fun. The stingrays were really cool to feed and just to feel around your ankles when the brushed up against you. They had a big one named "big mama" and she just swam around us. Enjoy! Palo brunch is the best. Glad you booked it.

Thanks for the info.

We have made reservations for Palos night 2 and brunch on the last day. If we need to change we will.

My DD has made contact with Cara from New York who is going sounds like alot of teen girls will be there.

My DW wanted to know about the Ladies Morning special in the SPA I couldn't see it on the list to pre book any advice?

thx

Phil

Hi, All -
I was wondering if anyone has experience/hearsay on the "rainforest" time at the spa? I'm not really spa-y (don't like massages, etc.) but this sounds like a nice relaxing bit of time, and if I schedule it, I just have to leave DH & DS on their own for a little. ;) Any input?
My family & friends all say this is the most excited they've ever seen me for a vacation. Please, Please, Please let there be no hurricanes - let one come while we're on the boat and we have to stay for extra days to sail around it!

Forgive my newbie-ness, but what is a DINK?

Whoops--sorry! :upsidedow Didn't mean to abbreviate and run!

Yes, Double-Income-No-Kids is correct. The vacation started out as a week at WDW, then they caught the DCL show on the Travel Channel and called to say, "Couldn't we do a cruise instead?" Um, YEAH! :cool1:

DS6 has already been preparing me: "Mom, I think I'm going to want to spend a lot of time in the Oceaneer's Club. You may need to find some things to do on your own." Well, gee, son. . . if you INSIST! I guess we'll have to come up with SOMETHING to do. Like absolutely nothing. ;) Ahhhh. . . now that's a vacation!

OK, now I'm officially excited for the relaxation part. Thanks for your input.
My DS is also very excited about the OC, and has opted for the Club vs. the Lab (He'll be 8 in October, so we probably could have asked to move him up to Lab) because according to the on-line Navigators, there is a fair amount of time the Club kids get to go the Lab when the Lab kids are off elsewhere.
There's also PlayStation in the Club. Looks like we'll all be having a blast.

Hello Everyone............I can't believe summer is here already. I teach, so I think of summer beginning when I'm out and the pool is open. I was surprised to see the openings still at Palo.

Looking forward to the cruise and WDW. I was of the DIS nuts from the other forums that is trying to buy a brick for WDW. I faxed my application last night. I'll check my credit card later today to see if it went through. I'm so excited about this. I always thought they were so neat and was sad that they stopped making them. Glad they came back with a limited supply. I hope it is in place by the time we go to WDW. Now they need to do something for the ships.;)

We are going to try and pull off a DIS meet onboard, right?

Are these the bricks in front of Magic Kingdom? I have always wanted one too. How do you apply to get one? Thanks.
Yes, I think a DIS meet would be wonderful. Let's start thinking about where and when.:thumbsup2

There is a thread on the Resorts Board about Personalized Bricks at the Poly.
There you will find that they have more spaces to fill. It was advertised at WDW but not anywhere publicly. It seems like they will be somewhere in the MK. Locations are up to where they want to put them. I will PM you my email address so I can send you the forms that you need.

I think the bricks are pretty exciting. I do hope that many from the DIS boards are put in the same area. that would be fun. I need to check my creidt card to see if everything went through.

So, is anyone starting to buy clothes for our cruise yet? I find everytime I am shopping I wind up saying "oh, this would be nice for the cruise"..heehee.

Yes, I'm bad about that. I always buy new clothes when I go on vacation (we only do 1 big vacation a year, so It's a big deal for me). I don't spend a lot of money on each item, but I just like to have something new for pictures. My DH and DS don't care. I use to have to buy all Disney shirts when we went to WDW but my DS told me last summer that I didn't need to buy him Disney shirts. Whatever! I'll be sporting my Mickey shirts at the parks by myself then :rotfl:

Could you please post the link to the thread on the Resort board? Thanks.
