It is hot hot hot in the Med!!!!

A friend rang me today, he is in Monte Carlo, said it was so so hot there. He loves the heat too and relishes it, but it was too hot for him!!!

I have also heard that another friend, who is the Captain of a Luxury Super Yacht, will be moored in the Antibes, which is just along the coast from Villfranche, when we are there, not sure if it will be too far to meet up, but I would love to see around the boat and see how the other half lives!!!

Pouring with rain here again, fed up with wet dogs and wet boots!!!! Bring on that sunshine

Well it doesn't look like anyone else is likely to join the FE list. (on Page 145), I got a few things today. I am well impressed with your DH Mindy, my OH wouldn't have a clue what he was doing, although he did go out and deliver some gifts before, which surprised me!

K8T - I've decided against joining you in the FE. Even though I know how much fun it is I don't think my mom will agee and we've had a bit of a stress recently so I'm not sure I will have enough time to gather supplies. It gives me an excuse to go on another cruise

No problem, it is probably hastle, when she doesn't really know how it all works. I must admit I got a bit anxious about putting stuff together the first time we did it, but it was all easier than I thought!.

I hope you will still be able to meet up with us on the first day?, I know it is a bit odd meeting people you have spoken to on a message board, my other half thinks it all very strange, but hopefully she will come along with you and see that we are reasonably 'normal' people!!

So last time I stayed concierge level I upgraded at port and had no idea how many services I missed out on by not having the use of the concierge prior to the cruise. So far they have been invaluable to us. They set up the Palo dinner for us, they helped us rectify the situation where my cruise balance was not on the interest free financing plan and they've been very helpful with information. Today, DH got an email from the tuxedo company that they could not accomodate his size for the cruise, since they had limited inventory. He was upset because for some reason he had his heart set on wearing a tux (I told him a suit would be fine) and the website said they carried his size. Well he called the concierge desk. They called back within 1/2 hour and said they would be shipping a tux to our home that he could bring on the cruise with him and then leave on the ship when we disembark. How's that for service????? It made him very happy.

For those that are going on our Pisa/Florence excursion, I don't know if I told you all yet (senility is running rampant here) they said for priority tendering, I just have to tell the concierge on ship who I am traveling with and they will get us all off together.

Mindy: good for your DH!! Although mine isn't cruising with us this trip, when he does he always wears his tux on formal night -- and this is a man who wears shorts to work all summer. Maybe I'll have to bring my tux and keep your DH company!!!

My OH took his DJ (tux) on the last cruise, but felt a bit out of place, most people had suits, although some just had a shirt, no jacket or tie. It was very informal compared to the cruises we have done before. I am not sure he will take it this time or not, it seemed a waste of space for one night, although we used the dress shirt, sleeves rolled up, with a red waitscoat, for Pirate Night and very dashing he looked too

Maybe it was because we were on early dining?

Did Week 5 day 1 today, having done one day of the interim week (4.2), I decided to go for it (how brave am I!). It was OK and didn't stop/walk once. 3 x 8 mins with 2 mins walking in between. Can't believe I did it, from zero to this!!! I agree that Wk4 was much harder!

Mindy, glad Disney are on the ball, it sounds amazing, guess that's what you pay for at the end of the day - how wonderful!!!

Mindy - Excellent news about the tux...now that's really first class treatment! Also good news about the priority tender, as we're joining you for the Pisa/Florence excursion.

On our last Disney cruise, my son wore a tux and looked mighty charming! On this cruise, he's decided to wear a Ralph Lauren suit with tie. He will still look excellent, but nothing beats the look of a man/young man in a tux! I'm glad it worked out for your DH.

Looking forward to meeting you!! Tick, tock we're almost there!

Not everyone on the boards is taking part in the FE list, so it by no means represents all the posters.

Can I pick your brains? Logistically is it going to be easy to get from Villefranche to Nice Airport. It looks simple on the maps, but thought you might know from experience. We're thinking about doing a back to back and staying on and doing the following cruise to ours. My mum would come out and meet us, but I have to be back for work on Wednesday morning so we'd have to leave early (not a problem with Disney - I rang them to check). Still worth doing given the deals, just a bit more complex.

Mary, we'll be coming to dinner in our pants, skirts and shirts, normal dinner dress. I'm sure we'll be making use of the buffet on a couple of other nights, ie the late return excursions.......
