August 18, 2010...Can't wait for the MAGICal Mediterranean!!!

We are planning to take the train into Rome and then utilize the HOHO bus -- we don't plan on doing St Peters (I've been before) and it seems like an easy, inexpensive way to get from spot to spot. We are doing the Disney tour in Pompeii as we also wanted to see Capri and Sorrento.

It's good to know the trains in Italy have improved -- when I was last there (25 years ago:scared1:) they would not have been described as easy to use!

Someone on one of the blogs or TR's used the HOHO in rome and had a good experience!

I keep thinking...geez I'm leaving in 70 days...how is that possible...I booked this trip in 2008....70 days is nothing.:littleangel:

660+ at the start....... 70 is nothing!

We are getting excited about this cruise. I know I'm starting to get that panic feeling! I haven't done a Disney Cruise since 2006 so had to get back on the disforum to brush up on all the details.

I am busy trying to figure out how to get to most sites via train. Thanks for the train link.

Hi welcome to our cruise meets board!!!:cheer2:

Where from and who are you traveling with? We seem to have a nice group here.

DH, DD(17), DD(13) & DD (11) and myself. We are from Upstate NY and this will be our third Disney Cruise. Have cruised on RC and really missed all the Disney extras. We can't wait to hear our name called on August 18th, 2010. :goodvibes

looking for a family of 5 who wants to partner up with us for a private tour of rome! about 110 euro a head. :)

Mindy 70 days must seem like nothing for you guys considering how long you have had this booked....it's so close:banana:

I have a DD 11 also; she is looking forward to meeting some new friends. This will be our first cruise and to be honest we are all very excited. About the names being called out, what is this?

When you board a Disney Cruise, right outside the main door, you'll get you picture taken. Then as you get to the entrance a cast member will ask you the name of your party and then you are "announced" as you walk in. There are usually a few cast members in the lobby that clap and cheer.

Yup! Now only if fuel prices would drop below $70 so I can get my fuel surcharge back...

I never paid one... when we booked in Aug, they weren't collecting it anymore, since oil was below $70 at that time!

I"m happy about the EUR being low, hopefully it will stay there... my thoughts is that it will prob be up to 1.25 by the time we travel.

Current, stupid prices hovering just above $70.

Longer range forecasts actually predict that the Euro might reach parity with the dollar next year. While it will go up and down and back again, it'd sure be nice to get a break.

Paid a fuel surcharge, but got it refunded about a year and a half ago. We may buy our Euro's and traveler's check soon to take advantage of the low rates.
