August 17, 2013 - A Fantasy Cruise to Paradise

Hi! I'm trying to get organized and plan/make my FE gifts sooner than later. I'm wondering if there is customary time (days before sailing) when the sign-up is cut-off so that we know total number of participants by a certain date? Also, most of the pictures of the FE hangars that I have seen have a pocket for each family member. Would it be confusing if I made one that has just one pocket where the FE goodies for all my family would be deposited into the one pocket? (Also, I'm a newbie to posting on Disboards so I hope I'm posting this the right way. My apologies if I messed up!)

You decide which design of FE you feel comfortable with. It will NOT be confusing if you only have one pocket. Some people give a stateroom gift, so only one pocket would be used there. And if you only have one, you will then just have to share everything in it.

And btw. we like to personalize our gifts, would you mind post all of your first names?

Would it b possible to list on FE list male or female. Most names are easy to figure out while others are not.

I only did it for the kids, as for adults it's DH first line, DW second line!

Thanks that helps. Still figuring out FE gifts but then again I may be 5 instead of 4 people (my son wants to bring a friend) so I have to figure this out as well. I don't think I will ever finish planning at this rate.

Just counted out the list. We are 75 people (40 adults and 35 kids). Well that means I may need an extra suitcase to carry it all in.

Please make sure you can add your friend's son to your reservation. Even if your stateroom holds more people than you have at the moment, you might not be able to add him on.
If the lifeboat spaces are filled they will not add anyone to the reservation.

I'm all for more joining FE, but I also wanted to say I agree with the June 30 cut-off. My FE are handmade (sewing/crafting) and it is really hard to know how many supplies etc to buy and items to make. A July cut-off date would have me stressed. Thanks!

I am sorry, I won't be of much help when it comes to booking the second room. All the "experience" with adding people actually comes from friends who tried to do it and were more or less successful.
I did see the prices go up and was shocked. I was playing around with other stateroom locations, but we will stay put with the prices having risen so much since we booked.

Like you, I don't mind a large FE exchange group, but since we make all our gifts by hand as well, we will need to know how is in way ahead of time, so June 30 was the obvious choice. Especially since we leave about two weeks prior to this cruise.

We are adding one more to our group so please add his name to the FE. He is Grant and will be 15. I will just use the one cabin for the FE so that people only have to make one trip. Our FE only has 4 pouches so people can just put Grant's with Ryan's.

So I guess we need to be removed from the FE list for this cruise. We just recently moved from Virginia to Colorado (a week ago!) and sadly for us, they start school MUCH earlier here than they do in Virginia. My daughter's school will be in session when we were supposed to be cruising.

Sorry we won't be joining you all, but I hope you have an AWESOME time! If any of you re-book for Oct. 11, 2014, that is where we moved to. We got the same room and even convinced our best friends to sign up to be our next door neighbors on the ship! After our move, they only live a mile away as it is. Hehehe!

Great idea. We sailed on the Dream in February and our friends have a 16 year old as well. He WOULD show up for dinner every day, but was done eating in no time and back to his club. It was the funniest thing to witness.
Those clubs seem to be a lot of fun for the teens!

I cannot believe that we will actually be able to make Palo and Remy reservations next month. And even though we have two short vacations (DLRP and Italy) before this one, we are SO looking forward to it!

For first time Disney cruisers, when will we find out our dining rotation? Trying to figure out when/if we'll be able to make Palo reservations. Since my MIL made reservations for our group (9 in all) the information will go to her first. If can only do once, would you recommend dinner or brunch?
