trying to get to bed early tomorrow night and then our first race on Saturday. I am hoping it all goes well! My dreams about the race are very interesting! :rotfl:

leaving us hanging about the interesting race dreams?! :rotfl:

I'm off today... great weather, too - mid 70s and not a cloud in the sky. Same forecast for tomorrow. Race time temp here will be about 60 - PERFECT!! I'm off to do my pick-ups and I'm drinking plenty of fluids today.

Here are the dreams:
1. I show up in skin tight jeans and a long sweater. The officials announce to everyone that racer number 651 cannot race because they did not come in appropriate racing clothes.

2. I show up late. The officials announce that I have to run and catch up to everyone without getting swept. I start running and the whole race people are chasing me with brooms.

3. I trip and fall in the race. The officials announce that they have to stop the whole race so they can get the ambulance in to help me. No one gets their sweatshirt or free beer for finishing!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Glad to hear you will have nice weather for your run. We are expecting a high temperature of 40° tomorrow which means in the morning at race time it will probably be in the high 20s or maybe even in the 30°. I wish it would have been just a bit warmer here but at least we are not suppose to get the freezing rain that was predicted earlier in the week.

I have no clue as to why I am having such weird dreams! :rotfl:

I hate our weather today! :headache: It is totally gross outside - cold and windy. YUCK!!!

Thanks for the sending us some luck on the races!

Love your weather and wish we were having it here!

It is Saturday morning and I am up and on my way to my first running race! Yep, last year I did do the 5K at Castaway Cay but I pretty much walked it. I also think there were only about 10-15 people. This is a REAL race...with 3000 people...running through downtown Minneapolis...I don't know what I was thinking! :rotfl: Seriously, I am prepared so I think it will be fine.

Harry - Good Luck with your race today too!

Hope everyone has a great day! We will not be back home until much later as we are running with a bunch of friends and will be hanging out with them most the day.

Later!
Jen

Have FUN Jen and Paul.

Good Luck Harry, Jen and Paul!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOVE those socks!!! :rotfl2:

SO, so proud of you!!! You rock!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I loved my whole outfit! For me, part of the run is picking the outfit! :rotfl2:

Thanks! We were really proud of ourselves today and it went really good. I am actually looking forward to our next race.:thumbsup2

Congratulation

Hope you enjoy your beer too

Jen - Congrats on your race today!!

I had a pace goal I wanted to achieve today and I beat that by 2 seconds - very good for me! My personal best at 5K was set when I was 19 years old so any chance of hitting that time again is LONNNNGGGG gone! :rotfl: So I shoot for pace goals and little things like that.

Two things went wrong for me today. One - I ate within 2 hours of the start (it was just a power bar and a banana). I don't like to eat 2-3 hours before a race, but I got up late and felt a totally empty stomach would be bad. No cramps during race, but let's just say something terrible almost happened in the finish chute!! :rotfl2::scared1: Second - I went out too fast! I kept reminding myself over and over again, but I was 35 seconds ahead of my pace at 1 mile. Combined with my tummy issues - I gave that all back over the last km or so! :rotfl:

On the positive - no problems with my knees and my time was respectable.

Thanks!! There were a few folks puking at the finish line... I think the race temp of about 68-70 was a shock for people who'd been training in temps in the 40s recently. Thankfully I was able to hold it together... another few yards though and I would have been done for!!

Are you enjoying this beautiful weekend?!
