I live in Hillsborough County (Tampa Bay Area) and we have very good schools, including the #1 elementary school in the state. I would avoid Polk County - not a good reputation

Good Luck - Living in Florida is awesome!!!

Hello Ginny!

We know that we would want to do some SERIOUS researching if we moved to Florida. DH works in a really tough school right now and we would just like to find some nice area with good schools and not have to deal with quite so much anymore.

Since we just heard that it is going to be DANGEROUSLY COLD here tomorrow, Florida always sounds good!

Jen

That's so cool, what time did they perform? was it before the park opened? Did you have special tickets for it? I was planning on taking the kids up to see it but I was sick as a dog. I ended up having to take the auto train back home because I was too sick to drive and I didn't want the kids to miss any more school than they already have.

I am sorry you got sick.. How do you feel now??

We did not have special tickets. I know they had tickets before hand that was like a lottery system for tickets. But since they had to switch the taping of the parade till Sunday due to the rain on Saturday. There was plenty of places and seats for the parade and the Jonas Brothers!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Jen, Maybe they will close the schools tomorrow.:goodvibes Do they ever close them?

School, was closed here today due to seven inches of snow.......

It was tough leaving 83 degree weather and coming home to this mess!!

Good morning!

Our 1-3 inch forecast in upstate NY has now turned into 5-10 inches and we're now under a winter storm warning until 7:00PM. :headache:

Most, if not all schools are closed...

I'm glad this hit now instead of the weekend though because we are headed to NYC Friday night for some Xmas fun over the weekend!

I don't know how much we got...the worse part is that it is so windy that the snow is blowing and drifting. I think we have something like 8" here.

We went to school today.

This is so true! You should see the sweaters start to come out when we get anywhere below 70 let alone 60. :rotfl:

Tomorrow it is suppose to be very cold here...can I layer sweaters? :lmao:

Seriously, with the wind chills it will be -20 to -30°! Yes, that is BELOW ZERO! :scared1:

We will still go to school.

A rain event here for this big storm... dodged a bullet!

Harry, I am glad that you only had rain. Hopefully it was not freezing rain. I am not happy with this weather.

We will continue to go to school through all of this. I am a bit bitter about it all.

We may end up with one snow day in the winter but for the most part...

We go to school. :confused3

You should have seen us all driving through 8" of snow this morning with blizzard like conditions - wind gusts of 40 mph.

I just dressed warm, drove like a crazy woman, slipped and slid all over and grin and bear it all. It is just part of living in this silly place!

Welcome home Kristin!

I am so glad you had such a great trip!!!! :goodvibes

I would not have wanted to leave Florida...it must have been really hard to go home to snow.:confused3

Can't wait to see some photos!

Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with either one. We love the Poly and the Contemporary. We just stayed at Bay Lake Tower this week which was wonderful. The monorail is so convenient specially with a baby. You're made a great choice.

Thanks!! I figure we will start with the Polynesian and make our way to the other resorts. I would love to be able to say that I have stayed at all WDW resorts one day.. I saw the pictures of the new BLT and it looks awesome especially the pool area. I"m jealous!! :D BTW.. Would they allow other guests staying at the Contemporary to use the pool facilities??

What longhouse do you recommended at the Poly?? I am narrowing down my request to the Tokelau. 1st floor.

I loved hearing all your MN comments Jen--they are sooo true. I was a lucky one today and my dds school district was closed so I had a snow day too. Where I teach did not close though. My coworkers said many kids were absent.

I have the funniest picture from when I was in elementary school. I am on my bike in shorts, there is some patches of snow on the ground and I am wearing moon boots (remember those). Ah, Minnesota.

Show those Jonas bros and Kelly Ripa pics. What luck you had!!!

Off to bed, tomorrow I will be wearing long johns under my clothes.

I only had 1/2 my class until lunch time. The morning was a total waste of a day. It is impossible to teach lessons when only 7 of your 17 students are there!

:lmao: I would love to see that photo!!! The funniest thing is that we would not think much of it! It is sad how warped you get when you live in Minnesota. :lmao:

I will be wearing my thick leggings under my pants...with my big boots that have fur! A turtleneck is a must as well!

Keep Warm!

Beautiful morning here... NOT! Unless you like winter, then you are good. It's -9 at my house with a windchill of -29. At least it's not snowing today!

Morning Erika! I am just about to go out the door and brave this weather!!! It's -5 here with a windchill of -22. I have layered myself the best I can and I am now going to face the cold.

Ben woke up this morning and asked..."Why do we live here?":lmao:

I asked myself that same question this morning. I drove Alexa to school, and she looked down at the display while we were driving and yells "-7?!?!?!" Brrrrrr.

Everyone must be frozen under the snow & ice?!?!

How is everyone?! :)

Hey Harry,

Just finished up watching the DVC-Presentation online.

It stinks coming home to this snow and cold weather!!

Watched it too.... I can't complain about the cold after reading some of the post from the folks out in Minnesota!

Evening Everyone! We survived the cold today! Actually, I even went out with the family to run a bunch of errands tonight so we were out in the cold all evening.

I am feeling pretty good tonight though because we got a bunch of the Christmas shopping done. I have been struggling with what to get for all the "extra" people we buy for... teachers, dance instructors, friends, etc. Tonight we almost finished all of them!!!:santa:

Good Morning Everyone!

Only 613 days until we cruise!!!!!!

I haven't done any work on our website this week - there hasn't really been anything to add. No one new has asked to be listed, no one new has sent member page information, Disney has not released anything new about our ship and it just seems like we are have some quiet days as we prepare for the holidays.

We have had a lot of voting on our name...we are up to over 30 votes!!!! I think we should close voting on Sunday evening and go with whatever name has the most votes...what do people think of that idea???

Have a happy Friday everyone!
Jen
