Yes, I know it is a solid wall verandah. We've had glass, solid, secret, nav and a porthole. Solid wall doesn't bother me one bit.

DH loves the solid wall, he can walk out on deck and catch some fresh air (if you know what I mean):rotfl2::rotfl2:

OMG I hope that didnt mean what I think it did. That is way too funny!!!!

I've changed my screen name. Since I lost my job I'm tired of being my old user name. Time for something new...

TVEPFOX is now LuvsBlueDiamonds

Yeah, go figure, what a great screen name for me. For those of you who are getting to know me I LOVE blue diamonds. Ask DH, I collect them!!

I have to start all over with posts and threads, but I don't care. Hopefully this name will bring me good luck and maybe a few new gems!

Hey great name! I've collected a couple myself...and you know what I mean:rolleyes1.

Hi! I booked this afternoon for this cruise for my DS(13 at cruise) and I in a cat 9A. I noticed a few people here said it was in GTY status earlier, but my TA got me in 6502. I guess rooms are being held and then released as people decide what they want to do.

This will our 3 Disney Cruise, we did a 4 night double dip in 2008, and we are doing the 8/12/11 4 night right before this one with my parents, 2 sisters, 1 bil, 3 nephews, and maybe one niece. the 8/16 5 night is just for me and the kiddo.

My son will be very happy when he gets home from school that I was able to book us for this. Today is his b-day, so I hope he like his surprise! :cool1::cool1:

Looking forward to getting to know you all! The next year and 9 months is going to fly by!

I booked a 6b back there, because I thought it would be a great view from back there. Just my opinion though.

Hi everyone. New to this board (2nd post). We booked this cruise today. Third Disney cruise for our family (we've done Western and Eastern Caribbean before). We're in a category 6a--room 10664 (back of the ship). Anyone have any thoughts about being on the back of the ship? It seems convenient to get to the kids' pools and elevators, but my DH is concerend we might not see anything off the balcony if we're in the back. Probably overthinking this! Can't wait. Wish it were next summer.

Looks like we are going to be neighbours :thumbsup2
we're back there too in 10162 6A cat

This will be our 5th cruise so we will be gold castaway club members after this one
there will be me Jackie , DH Micheal ,DS Aidan 19 and DS Micheal who will be 13 at the time of sailing

Ha! That's the room I changed from! Welcome aboard. :thumbsup2

Cool, Disney minds think alike you know....Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome!

We're right across from you in 2028! :thumbsup2

Sounds great! Glad to get a room mid ship, of course I'll appreciate it if I get upgraded as well....;)

So you're the one! That's one of the 2 11C rooms I was looking for! (non-connecting ones). Great deal!

I also looked at 2525 right across the hall. I hope deck 2 isn't too noisy, what with the restaurant on it. What category did you decide on?

I saw in your sig that you were once upgraded to the Roy suite!! That must've been awesome - I think I would have fainted! What cat. were you when that happened??

So glad to be on board! Hope the time flies for us all!

Booked this afternoon! Category 8C, Deck 7, aft (7180). This is non-connecting and sandwiched between two decks of just staterooms. Excellent. This will be our first Disney cruise! We've booked three times but have always ended up cancelling. This time I am determined to go!:goodvibes

My first choice was the back of the ship. When I booked every cabin was open, I was the first one! Took a 6b.

I think all the way aft will be wonderful. We always book aft for the location, but being on the butt of the ship you can sit and watch the world fade away. How nice!

Looks like we are going to be neighbours :thumbsup2

Thanks for the insight. Very helpful. My only reservation now about this stateroom is the solid wall verandah. Not sure if it makes sense to switch to a 5E to get the plexiglass.

Hi!! We are booked!!! We will be joining you on the Dream!!! :cool1::cool1:It will be me, DH, DS (12), DD (9) and DS (8). We are in a Cat 8B room 9158!!! Soooo excited!!:yay::yay: We had booked a 5 night for Aug 2010 and they were able to apply the credits and discount to the Aug '11 cruise and b/c of the new inside rooms we only need 1 cat 8 room!!! We never used the balcony on the Magic last year!! Actually I used it once to dry clothes and the ship encountered a flock of migrating birds that manage to use the balconies for a rest area and a bathroom :eek:!!! So we really don't need it!!!

Question??? Does anyone know what a Cat 8A is??? Is it really bigger??

I still haven't decided on a category or room yet. Still debating between 11C, 10A (if they come available again), 9B and 9A.

When we upgraded to the Roy suite last year we went from Cat 6 to Cat 1. It was wonderful! We're in for a shock on our next cruise in Dec, though, since we booked Cat 12 and were assigned Cat 10. And we have a Cat 8 room booked in January on the Wonder. Our 2 cruises thus far ended up being in Cat 3 and Cat 1, so we've yet to sail outside of Deck 8.

Count me in too!!! 1st cruise for my girls, 1st Disney cruise for dh and I. We are dd#2 (newly 8 at time of cruise), dd#1 (10 at time of cruise), me and dh. We are in a 11C category. This is the best for seasickness and less noise--correct?

We are very excited. Can't wait to meet you all!!!

Now I need to make a ticker!

We booked today!! This will be our 2nd cruise and both in Aug! We will be 2A 2C (DD will be 9 and DS will be 12). Room 9070, cat 5A.

So excited!!!!

Just booked Aug. 16th today too! We are a family of six, so we have two rooms. We got two 11C which are booked as a gty.
Our family:
Thad (Dad)
Bonnie (Mom)
Ryan (will be 11)
Kate (will be 8)
Olivia (will be 6)
Brady (will be 2)

I can't tell you how thrilled I am...now how to pass the time until then? :goodvibes

Count me in too! I'm in room 5513, an 11B. I really didn't look at how it was situated on the ship. Hope it's an okay location. Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Melissa

Woohoo, August 29th Alumni here:rotfl:! We are also booked on the 5 day double dip (this is cruise #3). We are thrilled about the price, $3860 for a family of 5 in an 8D - stateroom 6672 (we usually have to book a Cat. 4 - and we used the balcony just a handful of times this last cruise). That large Porthole looks great, and the girls have already "called" it for Day 1-5!
