Same for our friends who tried to book. They are waiting to see if anything opens up. I wasn't really thinking about an upgrade - it has never happened to us before and I swear we are the "unluckiest" people on the planet ( as opposed to the Andersons! LOL) but I have my fingers crossed that they will eventually offer a military discount. That's how we upgraded last time! :woohoo:

Jude, The military discount is HUGE, our friends got that last time. Could your friends book them a room now even if it is not inside at least they have a spot on the ship. Then if/when something opens up switch it. The deposit is always refundable before final payment. This way if the military discount comes out they are on the ship and they can change the reservation to use your military discount. Since you can use three rooms for the military discount..Just a thought!!

I went online this morning and saw a room that someone gave up in an 11C so I snatched it up for my friends. What luck I happened to be on line when that room became available, it's $1,200 cheaper than the verandah.

I was online earlier too, and at that time there were no inside cabins, but there was a cat 9b and an 8a available.

When were you online? I was on about 8:00 am. Did you get the 9b of 8a? now they are back to just verandahs.

Nope, my cabins are long booked, I was just looking for fun to see what was there. I don't remember when I looked, 11:30 or so I think.

Rough weekend here for me. We were cleaning our basement and I was putting a metal/wood ice-bucket up high and the cover fell and hit me in they eye..
The dr. had to numbe the eye with these drops that would impair my vision for the next 24 hours. They lifted the upper and lower lid and found a tiny piece of wood in the eye. I in turn have an eye infection now from it so am on antibotic drops three times a day for five days. If the vision is not better tomorrow... See More I need to see an eye surgeon to reattach the retna. But they did not think it was detached today and thought the vision woudl come back by tomorrow now that the wood is out. There was an eye lash in there too that they took out....LOL!! I have a scratch on the eye too. Which, should heal up ok...I am soo black and blue underneath my eye..It looks terrible!!:) :)

OMG! That sux!! I hope you are doing better by tomorrow. The thought of all of this makes me cringe, too!! I have HUGE eye "issues" The eye doc has to have someone hold my shoulders down just for the drops - it's really that bad! When Jake was like 7 months old I was lying down reading the paper - he was sitting behind me - and reached out to swat the paper. He hit me in the eye instead and took 10% of my cornea with him (corneal abrasion) :scared1:

It also became infected - very gross. It hurt so bad!!! Any kind of light would kill me! Lots of drops... eye patch.... wasn't fun. The worst part is that even after a year or more - I would wake up in the morning and my eyelid would snag that piece of healed cornea and tear it off again :scared1: Ready to throw up yet anyone?!?!? <LOL>

I was given three options. Wait & see, but put this nasty gunk in my eye EVERY night; have an operation (AWAKE) where they'd stitch down the piece of cornea; OR.... have a procedure where they'd tear off the entire cornea and let it grow back in one piece - thus avoiding that little "ridge".... guess what I chose?!?! Happy to say that after almost a year of that crap in my eye it's been smooth sailing since!!

Anyway - thanks for stirring up a real nasty memory :lmao: Hope u feel better soon :)

Hey Kristin...sorry to hear of your eye problems. Hope it is better tomorrow! Hey with your eyes fixed maybe Bruce will even look better...LOL JK Seriously, hope everything goes good!!!!!!!!

Kristin - I feel horrible for you. Please be careful with your eye and take it easy. Also...keep us updated on how it is all going!

Sending warm thoughts...please get better!

Yikes eye things are no fun. I had eye surgery and the flap came up and got folded under and they had to "iron it out" back onto my eyeball so I know how painful that kind of stuff can be. I'm sure it's even worse with the bruising underneath. Take care and heal well! Also for anyone interested in a cheap room on this cruise my friends have decided not to go on it with me:sad1: so my 11C that I snatched up yesterday will be available on 1/16. For a family of 4 it was $2,524.68. If anyone wants it and knows if you can transfer a reservation PM me and I'll work with you to transfer it if that can be done.

*edit* working with someone to switch over the room.

Oh, no, Kristin! I hope that it heals quickly and you will not need any additional surgery. My fingers are crossed that you wake up today to fully restored vision...
Take care, Jude

So sorry to hear that. Hope your vision returns quickly.

I wanted to jump on and say hello to everyone. We are not booked on this cruise yet but hope to. We are currently booked on the 4night 9/4/2011. I want to change to this cruise but have been checking as often as I can to see if any inside cabins become available. Haven't been lucky yet.

Any chance that if someone happens to be on the DCL website and sees an inside cabin open up that they would PM me? :worship: I would really appreciate it. I plan to continue my "stakeout" of the website too. I keep the page up at work and refresh every so often. Does anyone know if the cabins become available immediately upon release or is it only done every 24 hrs?

Thanks so much and I hope to be joining you guys really soon!:grouphug:

Oh, I hope you are feeling and seeing better soon. Those eye injuries can be painful and make it hard to do stuff. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Warming up here! We are so excited to see 19! The kids have been outside the last few days. It sure beats inside recess.

A question about FE--I am such a planner. I am just wondering about this and how it works. I see we have quite a few people signed up for this. When there are so many--do you divide up into smaller groups? Or give smaller things to all? First time cruiser will have lots of questions here. THanks for any help.

I was wondering the same thing, if we were going to split or keep it one big happy family! :grouphug: splitting would mean we could spend a little more per cabin. I guess we should just wait and see how many we end up with, we do have a year and a half!

Funny, I was just having the FE discussion with someone earlier today, regarding big groups. I think if they get too big it is best to divide it up into smaller groups. It can get VERY expensive and time consuming if you don't. We already have more in this group than we had on our last cruise, and we are still 19 months away.

Oh gosh Harry that sounds painfull. Sdchickie, your sounds awfull too.................

Eyes, are no fun to have any issues with!!

Today, it was better this morning but tonight it is killing me!!

Thanks, for all of the well wishes!!
