I wonder how they are going to handle this too. My parents and I are arriving at the same time and we are concierges and they are not!!

My understanding is that CONCIERGE GUESTS will board as soon as they check in - no matter what "port arrival time" they have ... I suppose there will be a specific Concierge line ?!!

this all thing is so confusing ...

I am just worried that I will go to port and not be allowed to even enter the terminal. I will be the one sitting on the curb with bags all around me - in the hot sun - watching everyone else go in.

I have no clue who they are going to handle all the airport transfers either though and maybe if I go that route they won't let me even get on a bus until later.

Totally confused about what to do with this!

We have a town car booked VERY EARLY ...

I suppose that , being the Dream bigger , DCL people need longer times to get everyone off the ship ... and to have the ship itself cleaned up !
I suppose that THE SAME porters will
FIRST help all guests getting off the ship
THEN start accepting luggage from arriving guests !

USUALLY the last guest debarks around 10.30 - 10.45 am ,
SO I suppose the porters will start somehow at that time to take our luggage ...

The question is : HOW LONG WILL THE LINES BE before you can ... get close to the first available porter ?
and afterwards ... to the Terminal entrance ???

HOWEVER I'm trying not to worry too much !! I'm not letting this thing ... RUIN my cruise excitement !!!

I am still coming at 10, unless I get a specific email from dcl informing me of the new port opening time. ( you know I don't even know if I could change if I wanted to as I have a town car booked )

I'm not even checking the dcl website anymore.

I have already printed my online check in with the 10.30 arrival time on it.

In my opinion if dcl wants to change they NEED to email me and inform me of the change.

So when you guys arrive you might find a fried Brit on the pavement

Sorry, I just read that back, hope I don't seem to harsh I'm just so annoyed that they have not 'officially' informed anyone!

I've JUST NOW checked DCL website and PRINTED again my Signature Form :
Our Online check-in data has been changed ( adding Ground transportation cruise to airport ) - BUT THE PORT ARRIVAL TIME STILL SAYS 10.30 -11.00 AM !!!

So I suppose we'll stick to this !! if DCL doesn't email/inform us !!

Maybe we will get a NEW port arrival time when we get the Cruise doc. by mail ??
NOT EVEN SURE we will get those doc. in a mannerly time - BEFORE we leave Italy !!!

All of this is quite confusing : have I said that line before ???

Yes, one of the Concierge guest benefits is a separate check-in line and lounge area where you meet the Concierge team. You don't get a boarding time or number since you can check-in whenever you arrive.

We have sailed 3 times prior in Concierge and have never gone to the lounge to meet the team. The last time we sailed over Halloween (2010) we showed up around 1:00 PM and the terminal was already empty, no need for a separate line.

The other parties that we are sailing with are not Concierge so we'll just hang out in the terminal with them since they are new to DCL.

I am sure it will all work out in the end.

My DD Bri will be in the vibe with you. She will be 15 in Sept.

My guess is that most people would like to embark asap ... many of us are sailing aboard the DREAM for the first time !!!

How is your "poor ankle" feeling these days ? can you relax some - now that school is off ?
I went this morning and collected my last items for FE !!!
VERY happy about how they turned out !!!!
I now plan to wrap them in ... a cute way !!!!

Marco stated that HE is NOT going through Customs with me ... doesn't want to be "embarassed" by the stuff I am carrying ...

I ended up thinking that I will "buy" some items for FE ALSO in US - possibly at WDW , as at this point I can't really put other FE "things" in our luggage ...
Having such a long trip ahead of us ... doesn't help !
We need to be very carefull about weight , though we will be travelling Business from here to US ... They are so strict ( and EXPENSIVE !!!) about extra weight ...

Can't wait to ... deliver !!!!

The ankle is ok.. Was hurting me after our party on Saturday but I was on my feet all day long.....UGH!! But it was such FUN!!

I can not wait for your FE gifts....Last cruise the necklace was soo beautiful!! Everytime I wear it I get asked where I bought it I always say from a wonderful friend in ITALY!!

I was just looking at my ticker, and realized that Donald's almost to the front of the ship! One month and 10 days to go it says! (which is right, because I just had to pay off my WDW post-cruise package as the 45 day mark is today!)

Us too! Then my TA said, oh the doc will come out about 2 weeks before...eek! We will already be in Orlando... thankfully, we used a TA and she will take care of it for us...

There are no port arrival times for concierge... the website says we can arrive whenever... then as far as I know we goto the concierge waiting area until boarding starts...

Just got off the phone concierges, such a nice women who called me about my letter regarding terminal opening time.

This is the "low-down" on the terminal opening time. She told me that if you show up before your port arrival time you will be told to go and wait in a holding area until your assigned time. They will have a list of names and arrival times. No one will be allowed to arrive before 11:00 am. If you do you will be put into the holding area. No exceptions. Due to the security.

You will only be allowed to board at your assigned time.
