Lands End cover ups came today:banana::banana: Can I just say I LOVE THEM!!!!!! Thanks to whom ever post the codes & suggestion first. I think I might have to take one for a test run at our swim club today and pretend I'm on the the dream.

The pain is getting better...as for my family waiting on me, my mom stayed with us for the first two weeks, so she's been a great help. She leaves on Sat., so we'll see what the rest os the time will be like.

Wow, only six weeks until we sail!! 42 days minus the 5 days at vero and that is 37days until vacation!!

Sorry, I have been more lurking than posting these days, but hopefully I will finalize all our travel plans, so I can be on here more! Trying decent price for to find a rental car. I got a great price for a Ford Escape, but I am not sure if it will be big enough for 2 adults, 3 kids and luggage. The kids are just going to have to sit on the suitcases!! LOL!!

Hope everyone had a nice July 4th. Tomorrow we are going on a boat ride leaving from West Point, my sister works at the hospital. Not sure what to expect, except dreaming of sailing on the Dream!

I am with you on the rentals. Can't believe the price differences between now and last year. Boat ride-- nice! It is so pretty up there. Our vacation last summer was a road trip in New York/Niagara Falls.

Did you check the price on the minivan? I have been looking at that Escape rate, and I didn't think it would hold enough luggage, but the mini van was not that much more. Only about $20 more for the 3 days I needed it for.

Which car rental agency are you using?

Hi Jessie, welcome aboard! My daughter Alexa turned 15 in January, she will be in the Vibe with you!
 
I know-- MCO security is so variable! I'm hoping that Sunday AM is a little better than later in the day on Sunday... We'll just have to be in line for the first transfer bus. At least we'll be able to go straight to security when we arrive. Do you still go through customs, just not with your checked luggage? (Does that mean you have to make sure you are hand-carrying anything that could require customs inspection?)

Just flew out of MCO this past Sunday. It was fairly crowded at 7:30AM, but I've seen it worse there. Security line was about 20 minutes.

That's pretty good...last October I was flying solo back home and had over a 45 min wait, even in the singles line...it started to get ugly (preminitions of DCL terminal after time change :scared1:).



Did you hear the new rumor (and I don't know when it would take effect) that you won't be able to bring your own alcohol onboard? It was buried in one of the new check in time threads.
 
Just thought I would share the response I got from Disney regarding my e-mail to them about the port arrival time:

Dear Jen,

Thank you for your e-mail.

We truly appreciate your concerns and your email has been shared with
the appropriate management teams. It is not our intent to upset our
loyal Disney Cruise Line Guests.

Please also accept our genuine regret for any confusion or
disappointment.

As you know, effective August 2nd, there is going to be a change to the
operational hours of the cruise terminal in Port Canaveral.

In order to eliminate some of the wait Guests experience, the cruise
terminal and parking facility in Port Canaveral will both open at
11:00am instead of 10:30am.

Please be aware, this is not the time you will embark the ship. It is
only the time to arrive at the cruise terminal. Embarkation still begins
approximately 1:00pm.

Here is some information regarding the Port Arrival Time:

*You will be issued a boarding number for a boarding group at check-in.
*The boarding number is predetermined by the time selected in the Port
Arrival Time form.
*If you have not selected an arrival time online, you may be delayed
entry into the cruise terminal until Guests with assigned times are
accommodated.
*You will board the ship once the boarding number has been called.

We encourage our Guests to arrive as close to their scheduled time as
possible. If you arrive early, you may be asked to wait until your
scheduled time to enter the terminal.

If you are traveling with another party and have chosen two separate
Port Arrival times, it is recommended to arrive at the later time in
order to ensure the entire party can be accommodated.

In addition, per our management team, we are not offering compensation
for any changes to your transportation.

We regret any disappointment and hope these concerns will not continue
to affect your regard for Disney. There is magic in the Disney name and
we anxiously anticipate sailing with you and your family in the near
future.

This is really interesting because it says that the terminal AND parking will open at 11:00 and not 10:30...this is interesting because I know some people still show 10:30 as their arrival time.

I am still very annoyed by it all because no where did they address the fact that I had a 10:30 arrival time that has been changed to 11:30 (even though I know that many people were able to keep their 10:30 arrival time).

I just feel like this is going to be a total mess. :confused3

Me too. I am still waiting my reply from DCL...

I know boarding is supposed to begin at 1 pm but can start as early as 11:45 am, wonder if that will get pushed off too with the later arrival/start check-in times.

I did get the letter you posted first. The one I posted is the one that was sent to me late today.
