@Kritter -- the grand gathering idea at Tony's sounds great but I think our 3 days at WDW are already jam-packed with reservations. Maybe we can compare notes before we get there to see if we might be running into each other at one of the parks! We also will be at the Port the night before the cruise so might be interested in meeting up with people for dinner or something.:)

In Nassau we plan to stay on the ship for the most part. I think we might get off just to go to the market or something quick but we aren't going to do an excursion this time around. I know that many people will be doing the same thing and the ship might be crowded but I still think we will enjoy laying around, possibly doing an activity or two and then enjoying free food on the ship! :goodvibes

Time for bed, good night all!

Night Terri!

Did you guys get free dining? Where are you staying at?

We were able to book the Poly back when it was free dining. Finished our reservations today! :cool1:

The rate I had for a family of four (2 kids that are seven) was $225 and with the tax and the housekeeping fees (even though you check in and out at the same time) it would have come to just around $300. I knew that this rate was a lot cheaper than the DCL sponsored Atlantis aquaventure and if you book at that hotel you do get the Atlantis wristbands. There were quite a few threads about the ins and outs of this on the main cruise board. I made that hotel reservation before Christmas and a short time later I saw the rate rise.

Before I cancelled the reservation this evening, I even called the hotel and asked if I could transfer the reservation to someone else (figured that someone on our cruise board might want it) but the hotel person I spoke to told me no.

Hi Beth,

Thanks for posting the picture! The hilton looks really nice. I'm so glad that we'll have some company. Everything I've read seems to give it a great review.

Loved your trip report, really sounds like you and Steve had a great time!!!

No we didn't get free dining -- can't quite remember why now, maybe b/c it didn't seem to work out for us given we were going to go to DTD and some other places too. We'll be at the Wilderness Lodge -- I did get a good rate on a club level room (not sure if that is the right name?) when they had a special offer going. So we are also planning to take full advantage of the nibbles and drinks available there!

Totally agree !! :goodvibes
We fly from Milano to NYC and afterwards to Orlando !! We have to be VERY CAREFUL about luggage OR ... :scared1::scared1::scared1: my DGH will have to grump :lmao: and PAY $$$ for the extra weight !!

I :rolleyes1 should be planning on bringing with me ONLY a " basic black dress" for dinner + accessorize it for ;) a different look ...
.............. NOT sure though :rotfl2:

Testing my memory here (and my laziness about searching back!!)... did you ever decide on the NYC food tour? I seem to recall you were weighing different options?

We really like the Wilderness Lodge. We will be there to eat at the Whispering Canyon Cafe one night! :thumbsup2

We are staying club level at the Poly and LOVE the treats and drinks! :lovestruc

Kristin - Were you able to call and order the vinylmations for the girls today? Let me know if you need me to do it for you.

Did anyone else stay up last night to watch the space shuttle Endeavour land? I watched it online, and it was amazing! It made me want to visit Kennedy Space Center, so today I emailed our Congressman to ask about the free tickets you can get. I hope it's not too late to get tickets for August! I'd love to visit KSC the day before our cruise!

I emailed our Congressman last week and got a response that they had no idea what I was talking about!! :rotfl: I expected as much and haven't had time to really push the issue. Let us know how you make out.

Hi Kim, Thanks for finding out about this place and sending me the PM. The hotel pool and beach look nice and it is really close to the ship. It is just passed the Straw Market right next to Senor Frogs (you can see SF in that picture I posted). It should be fun!

Ohh gosh no I have not done it yet. I will have to try tomorrow. Can't do it from school.........

Our family did this in October. I emailed our Virginia Senator, Sen. Warner, about five months before and a staff member set it up w/NASA. Apparently NASA has a certain number of complimentary tickets a day. We were able to get all four family members in for free! Our girls LOVED it though make sure to wear comfy shoes as there is a great deal of walking involved.

Somewhere on the boards, I think, is a thread about this, even with a sample letter to a congress person explaining what it is they need to do to contact NASA.

Paid in full today!!!

Afterwards I went ahead and completed on line registration including registering the kids for club.

I didn't choose to reserve any Palo, Remy, excursions, or spa. The only thing I registered ahead of time was Castaway Cay floats. :)

Hooray for PIF!
