I just have to say... I'm JEALOUS!!! :thumbsup2 (even the emoticon is green with envy :lmao:)

We may be organizing an open house for a couple of hours. Chuck Maida owns a very popular travel agency which some of you may use (I can't post the company name since they are competition to DU).

He sails on DCL often, normally books a suite, and typically has an open house so he can chat with his clients. He has been very kind to my family over the years so I offered to let him use our stateroom for his open house. Yes, I cleared this with my wife first ;)

I'll keep you posted if this actually works out, more than likely on our sea day.

Jeff

Just got back from running a 10K in the rain!!! I was ok till mile 4 then the rains came and by the end I looked like a drowned rat. We still had a great time, but I'm hopeing for sun next year. And the best part-I wasn't last! :thumbsup2

Great job on your run! Sorry that you had to deal with the rain. I really want to be running outside but today we had SNOW and I am not running outside when it is this cold!

Just wanted to pop in and say, Hello! Trying hard to keep up with the thread but often find it a losing battle. :lmao:

It' really nice to see Jen back! That was a very pleasant surprise. Glad to see that worked out.

We are almost at the 120 day mark so we will be PIF and looking to book Palo Brunch. At the moment, we don't have any interest in Remy, but would like to take a look around. Of course, unless you have a reservation I doubt they would let you do that.

We were thinking about lanyards, I don't think we are on the list. We prefer green over yellow, but either is nice.

By the way, is there a FE list available on-line. Just curious to see how many families are participating.
[Edit] Nevermind, found the link to the website Jen created. I see the FE list

Hope to be posting more as we get closer.

Have a great weekend everybody.

Jeff

Hey Jeff - It is so good to be back on the list of cruisers again! :thumbsup2 As for the FE.....DON'T use the list on my website. When we were going to change cruises, Kristin took over the FE and started a whole new list. I will double check with her to be sure she has you listed. If you know that you haven't given Kristin (Kritter) the info, send it to her just to be sure.

Kristin is doing a great job of organizing this! We are so excited to do the FE again and I finally figured out the last part of our FE gifts this week. :thumbsup2

Thanks, we are on the list so we are good to go. 20 - 25 families per group sounds good. Beth (TinkerbellTwins) is going to help us out since we have the Roy suite and it appears the gates may keep DISers from putting stuff in our FE so we are looking at other options.

Jeff

Jeff - or anyone else who has a suite - We will also have 2 staterooms so if someone is looking for a place to hang their FE, let us know and we can help out as well. We do not want to have the gates keeping anyone who wants to participate from doing so.

Too funny about checking with your wife! :rotfl2: If you don't do an open house...you will have to post some photos when we get back! How cool to have such a great room booked!

I never say no to a party. :rotfl: Good thinking clearing it with your wife. ;) I "know" Chuck - used them for this cruise. I didn't know he was sailing with us. It will be fun to meet him along with everyone else here.

Yay on the 10K. Boo on the rain. (I haven't figured out how to multi-quote).

I would totally take dreary....we have SNOW! :confused3 I am NOT happy about the SNOW. YUCK! My plan for today is to lay around for as long as possible, then do some laundry, at some point tackle the taxes, figure out food for the week and send Paul out to do the shopping, maybe take a nap and just enjoy being lazy! :rotfl:

OH NO!!! SNOW:scared1: I feel your pain, NY had a rough winter this year, I hope it's over, stay warm and dream of the magic awaiting.

Laura, so glad you are walking, but please don't overdo it.
We need you to be in tip top shape when we meet.

:dance3: WAY COOL!!! Thank you so much for opening up your suite for us!:dance3:
We use Chuck's Travel Agency also, love the service, it's above and beyond the norm.

To multi-quote, click the little quotation mark symbol next to each post you want to quote (it'll turn a different color), and then when you've clicked it for each post you want, click the regular "quote" button. :thumbsup2

Agreed on the travel agency, his company has a great staff that do go above and beyond.

Let you know about the open house, still working out the details.

Crazy day today... Spent the afternoon volunteering at my car seat check (I'm a volunteer child passenger safety technician), picked up dinner for everyone on the way home and then we are watching the new Tron movie w/ the "second screen" on the pc. Pretty cool technology.

The original plan was to go to the Phillies game tonight w/ dd's school, but the monsoon outside has caused them to reschedule the game for mid-June.

Dd and I are thinking hard on what to do for our FEs, and we have to come up with something to hand on our fish as well!

We are also gearing up to make our 100 day chain...just a few weeks left until we hit double digits and can start taking links off! :woohoo:

I need to figure out our food for WDW after the cruise. We are for sure going to have 4 nights of dining...possibly 6. Our goal is to be able to get a reservation at 'Ohana one night but other then that, we are pretty open.

We would really like to consider Tutto Italia or Via Napoli but I can't find many reviews of either of them.

Today I spent tons of time trying to read about all the restaurants and somehow I don't feel like we are any closer to making decisions about where to eat.

I sent the Poly concierge an e-mail but their response to me did not make me feel like they were going to be much help at getting reservations either. I am worried that even if I can figure out where we want to eat that we won't be able to get any reservations.

On a positive note....I was able to really do very little today and that was great! After the crazy weeks I have had, I really just needed a break! Now if only the last of the snow would melt again!

Jen, we are going to be at WDW for 5 nights post cruise and tried hard to choose restaurants we've never been to before.

Dd did lobby successfully to return to 1900 Park Fare (she loves the strawberry soup!) but the rest are all new to the kids and three are new to dh and I.

We will be going to 1900 Park Fare, Coral Reef, 50's Prime Time Cafe (dh and I were last there pre-kids!), Boma, and Chefs de France.

It was difficult for me to choose restaurants as well, mostly because my kids prefer pasta and veggies to hamburgers and it was hard to find menus they would eat from.

We are making progress on the limited choices though, dd (9) and I went out to dinner by ourselves last night and she tried a teeny piece of my steak (first time trying it ever) and she liked it! I'm holding out hope that we can expand her menu some more before we leave for Florida!:thumbsup2

Congrats on the run! I can't stand running in the rain. I ran a 10K last weekend and part of the course went into a wooded area which was had huge puddles... more like small ponds... to run through. Not a pleasant feeling.
