Anyone else do any digital scrap-booking? I have spent some of the afternoon working on pages from our 2009 pre Christmas trip on the Magic.... reminiscing about the trip is creating more excitement for this upcoming trip.....

Hey, Jude,
I have Creative Memories SBC+, it seems pretty user friendly. There is a big thread on it over on the scrapbooking thread. I'm sad to say that I haven't really used it very much. I keep saying one day I'm going to actually use it but.....you know how that goes!
I also have Photoshop Elements but I don't know how to use that either.

I'll try to explain what is the meaning of that show Spirit of Aloha .

ALOHA for Hawaiian people (we have been visiting those islands many times) means HELLO , TAKE CARE ,LOVE or FRIENDSHIP ; but in the Hawaiian culture also means respect and connection with Nature .
The "spirit" of ALOHA is shared among loved ones , BUT ALSO with visitors and strangers ; you could say it's the spirit of life itself .
This Aloha is told through an ancient dance , the hula :

movements of the hands ( and hips ) tell a story , it can be about Nature or a love song or ... just for fun .

Disney makes a good choice among songs and dances of various Polinesian islands , meaning that you'll see not only HULA from Hawaii , but also dances from Tahiti , New Zealand ... The grand finale shows the dramatic Samoan fire dance , which is spectacular .

Food that you'll get is ( to be honest) so so ; it is supposed to be a LUAU , but you will not get kalua pig ,haupia ,poi nor poke ( which are part of the real luau in Hawaii); if I remember correct you just get Hawaiian (soft) sweet bread and pineapple as appetizer , then roasted chicken or pork with rice and vegetables.
The last time we were there the dessert was good , sort of "flamed" Volcano, rich in chocolate.

DGH thinks it is a very grumpy ( meaning VERY GOOD) show ; MHO is that this luau is good , maybe I'd like better the one held at Royal Pacific hotel ( at Universal Rolando) - mostly because food is much better ...

Having said so : WE will go to Spirit of Aloha this August , before the cruise; I can't wait to hear again those beautiful Hawaiian melodies !!!

I was just wondering if any Disney movies would be coming out during the cruise... and found a listing on IMDB that Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World will be released on 8/19.

I know my dd (newly 10yo on the cruise) will love to see it if they show it on board!

Thanks! We plan to move as soon as possible. DH actually started his new job today. They are being pretty good by letting him work one week up there and then a week from their office here. But, we don't want to have to do that for too long. So, keep your fingers crossed that we actually find a house that we like during the trip this week.

Oh No! I am sending lots of PD your way Laura! Losing the keys is not a relaxing way to spend your last days of vacation before you head back to school.

I wish I would have seen it! I saw your post and pulled it up but I think she was already in port. Then, I could only watch for a moment because I had to go to work.

Evening Everyone! I am so busy so I have to limit my DIS time right now but my days seem to be way to full and my nights are crazy.

I did take time to update our website with new cruisers, FE additions, lanyard additions, a blog entry and a few more things. I want to add some of the new stuff with the ship but it will have to wait until possibly this weekend. Tonight I am going to take time to do a full back up of my computer and the site so it might be a little bit slow late tonight.

Quick question: Where are people staying the night before the cruise? If you are staying at port, I would love to hear at what hotel (and the price if you are willing to share). We are trying to decide where to stay that would allow us to leave our vehicle there and be as cheap as possible.

Hey, Jen,
we are staying at Country Inn and Suites the night before the cruise. It's $139 plus tax. But you get to leave the car for free and they have breakfast too. Lasst year we stayed there before we went on the Freedom and I asked if they had any better rates and she said yes and gave me the better rate! I forget what it was. I just booked through their site.

Jen, we are staying at the Residence Inn by Marriott since my parents had points and they got us two rooms for free. So we could not beat it....Guess, what Jen?? We are are going to surprise the girls with a Disney Trip for their birthday!! My parents are going to book the room with their points so fingers crossed that tomorrow DVC has room available. We will be going in early Feb. just for four or maybe five nights!! I am not sure how the school is going to handle this but oh well!! Right??
