I cannot even begin to describe the whole race...more water bogs then I care to count, log hurdles, mud pits, belly crawls through mud, log walks, the "stairway to Heaven" (think tall ladder), rope swing, the wall, many water crossings, the low crawl through mud, cargo net, overs and unders and so much more!

Today I am scratched, bruised and sore in places that I did not know I could get sore. I was still muddy (even after being hosed off and taking one shower).

I will say...it was the TIME OF MY LIFE! 6.3 miles of pure test the limits of what you are made of and I crossed that finish line with a smile on my face! :woohoo:

Wow that looks interesting Jen - Well done I cant even imagine what it must have been like. Im seriuosly impressed:thumbsup2
DH has an interesting week - On Sunday he is entered in The Great North Run which is 13.1 miles he really wants to do it in under 2hrs as this year he turned the big 40:rolleyes1 Last year he did it in 2hrs 10 please keep your fingers x for him:flower3:

I have booked our pre - cruise stay. Providing we can get decent flights we are arriving 11th Aug and have booked a 1 bedroom at Boardwalk Villlas (our Home resort) We also added the DDP. I cant wait

We booked everything for our trip (that we can at this point) over the last few weeks.

Our plan is to drive down from PA and arrive two days before the cruise departs. I'm still looking at possible pre-cruise hotels! :) We are going relax after 1.5 days of driving the first day and then visit the Kennedy Space Center the day before the cruise. Dh is almost more excited about that than the rest of the trip! :lmao:

After the cruise we will be trekking over to WDW for a 5 night, 6 day stay at the Wilderness Lodge. Our wonderful TA snagged free dining for us which makes the bank account very happy!

With so long to wait until the trip, I'm living vicariously through my friends by helping them plan trips to WDW! :yay:

not booking anything here yet
Like Helen waiting to see if any decent flights come out
DS would like to have a stop over in New York again

hoping to be able to get the BCV again too so have to wait for the 7 month window, our home resort is SSR but not a big fan of this resort but it was the only one that was for sale when we were buying

so the idea at this stage is 2/3 days in new york arrive in WDW day before the cruise and a week there too after in the BCV

but as usual with my Disney planning that can all go out the window at any stage and change

Was looking at the Free dining too but we have banked points from last year to use up

I have more planned for this holiday then with this years one which is in 5 weeks time
really having the Disney Bluessss this is the first year we've missed since 2003

Is this going to be a Disney Store, or is this the hotel that they are building there?
It's for the Disney hotel that is supposed to be comming. I hadn't seen any signs up there like these before so I hope that's a sign that they are still planning on building it.

Terri, hope your hand continues to get better!!
Thanks! It's much better already, still a little tender but at least I can type again.

Jen, so cool. Where did you do this? All I can think of is mud rubbing in places you wouldn't want it to while trying to run. :scared1:

I leave for Disney in 2 weeks and 3 days. I'm so excited, I've been having withdrawls since our New Years Eve trip. We're staying at *** (oops I had to edit this to All Star Sports) which is the only value I haven't stayed at so I'm a little happy to stay there although I wish it was the BW or YC (they were both already booked up with my pin code).

I hope it gets further along than the Philly Disney Quest did!

They broke ground and dug a HUUUUGGGGEEE 1 block x 1 block hole for the foundation....then stopped!

The site is currently a parking lot. :sad2:

Two Back-to-School nights down.... one to go! It sux having to hit three different schools!!!

11 months and counting!!

We have all the pre-cruise stuff squared away for Vero, but there's grumbling going on here about not enough time there.... have to drive longer to the port in the morning.... blah blah blah.... We may revisit @ the 7 month window.

Next week we get to make some post-cruise plans, too!

Hello all!

Just wanted to drop in and say Hi! We have our post cruise plans set with a stay at Wilderness Lodge and so there isn't much else to do yet. We will either drive or take the auto train down, so no need to think about airfare. Katie still doesn't know about the whole trip, so unless another 8-9 year old shows up on the board looking to e-mail with another girl before we go, we likely won't tell her.

We've been busy here with school starting. Colby started preschool (well, more like a two day a week Mother's Day Out) last week. He is getting way too big and I can't believe that he will be two in two weeks! Katie is back into her routine and loving her new school and teachers.

Tonight, we are leaving the kids with friends of ours, and Jeff and I are going to see Rush!:banana::banana: So very very excited. This will be my 5th Rush show and Jeff's 2nd. I am way more into Rush than he is, but he loves me so he is coming along. :) :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Anyway, have a great Saturday and Sunday!

I didn't know Rush was in town, are they playing at Nissan? I'm having flashbacks of when my hubby and I were dating, we were driving by the Caps center and an ad came on the radio that Rush was playing there that night and was about to start so I told him that Rush made me randy.....needless to say we made a quick U turn and went to the concert. :rotfl: He still won't let me forget that he didn't get any that night! Have fun at the show!

Oooo..... three things

We will also be at the Wilderness Lodge for our post-cruise stay! :thumbsup2 (Sunday through Friday)

My older one just turned 9yo in July and will be just barely 10yo when we sail. She has an email address but never uses it because she doesn't have anyone to email. If you decide to change your mind about surprising your dd... give me a yell!

Annnndddd... My dh loves Rush! He went to the concert here in Philly in July (on dd's bday!) and came home proudly wearing his RASH shirt! Dh is a drummer and may just have every cd Rush has ever made along w/ most of the DVDs as well. While I can appreciate them, I'm not that big of a fan.

How old is your son? Ours is 4.5yo and will be just a few weeks shy of starting kindergarten next year when we sail.

We will also be driving down next year. I looked into the auto train but w/ the surcharge for the van, we might as well be flying!

Our plan is to leave the Philly area on Saturday (8/13), stop overnight in South Carolina somewhere and arrive at Port Canaveral on the 14th. We will spend the day at the Kennedy Space Center on the 15th and then relax that night before boarding the Dream the next day.

It is so cool to "meet" everyone this early and get to know others before we get on the ship! :cool1:

ETA: Okay it was more than three...but I talk too much which means I can't stop typing either! LOL

Hi everyone, we'll be cruising with you next August! :goodvibes Can't wait to see the Dream and how it compares to the Magic and Wonder!

It's just DH and myself cruising, and we're celebrating my birthday and our anniversary. We're booked in stateroom 12014 which is a concierge one bed suite with verandah.

We're planning to stay at BCV 1BR for 3 nights before the cruise, and then AKV 1BR concierge for 8 nights after. :)
