August 16, 2011 – 7 Night Alaska Sailing

Very Nice Mellers! I have requested from Milliepie (a Dis-igner), that she add out sail date to the postcard style Alaska graphic currently in my sig. Once I have it I will post it hear for anyone to use.

We are getting closer every day!

That would be great! I might even be able to use it in my FE gift.

So I asked Milliepie (a very talented and generous dis-signer) to add the date of out trip to one of her designs. I liked her work so much that I borrowed a few of her other dis-signes and embellished them a bit. Feel free to use any and all as you like.

My hubby and I would like to participate in the FE too please! Can you add us to the list?

Hubby - Chuck
We are both 30 somethings :)

Can't wait to get working on this stuff, although I'm sure I'll do most of the work and my hubby will just reap the benefits!

Just a reminder--if the FE list goes over 15 cabins, I'm going to split it into two groups.

Ok..so how do I get the countdown sticker on my signature? Haven't done this in a while and I can't remember :confused3

Also...I'm looking for some suggestions for our visit to Vancouver. We are taking Amtrak from Seattle and should arrive in Vancouver approx. 12:00pm on Sunday, Aug. 14th. Of course we want to maximize our time and see as much as we can see. Our kids at the time of sailing will be almost 16(DD) and almost 13(DS) so they can handle a pretty full schedule.

Thanks-
Kelly

Go to http://www.**************/ . They'll tell you just what to do to make a countdown badge.

It depends on what you like to do. If you're the outdoorsy, suspension bridge type, the Lynn Canyon suspension bridge is a good choice I've heard: http://www.lynncanyon.ca/ It's similar to the Capilano, but free.

My family and I (DD is 15) love the Vancouver Aquarium. http://www.vancouveraquarium.org/

Gastown is fun to walk around: http://vancouver.ca/commsvcs/planning/heritage/walks/w_gt_in.htm

The Grouse Mountain Tramway is really nice--sometimes you can find discounted tickets at the Vancouver Safeway: http://www.grousemountain.com/Winter/

The Dr. Sun Yat-Sen garden in Chinatown is really beautiful: http://www.vancouverchinesegarden.com/

My personal favorite attraction is never listed in the guidebooks--that would be the International Buddhist Temple Gardens in Richmond (near YVR). They are open to the public, and really extraordinary: http://www.buddhisttemple.ca/

The VanDusen Botanical Garden is also beautiful:
http://www.vandusengarden.org/

(Our relatives live in Richmond, so we go to that area at least once a year.)

After you've made the tag, they have the code for the pseudo-html that you can just copy and paste into your signature--if you provided your email address, I think they emailed it to you.

You're very welcome about Vancouver. I love the Vancouver area myself.
