August 13, 2010 - I WONDER Where All Our Cruisers Are?

Don't worry, I'll socialize online enough for the both of our families. It is looking like a small FE group. If anyone is interested, just send me a PM with your info: email, names (if comfortable), ages (for kids), and room number (otherwise you get nuttin'.) Then I'll email everyone a list. I figure we can all just deliver when we have the time, rather than setting up delivery dates.

We are a family of three that would like to join the FE exchange. I am not good with the PM'ing part. Not too sure how, but I will try to send our info to you.

Here is a question for all you Palo lovers.

What is the best day and time to eat at Palo?

We don't want to miss anything fun.

Hi pixiedust dawn
Dinner is very amazing. It is like a $200.00+ dinner. But unless you know your dining rotation it is hard to predict which night to do Palo's. My opinion is that Parrot Cay dining room you would not miss much. But again, you do not know which night you would be there. Your best bet would be to book brunch, which is also amazing but only done on the Day at Sea (only one for this cruise).

That's always a hard choice on the shorter cruise. I hate to miss the Pirate night, not because of the menu so much as I love the show in the dining room and like to have some room for the party buffet. I think that's usually the third night on a 4 night cruise. I also hate to miss the Animator's Palette show, but unless you know your rotation, that's hard to predict. If you don't mind missing the good bye show, I think Palo's would be a good way to end the cruise. No matter what, you will be getting better food at Palo's than in the dining room. I just hate to miss the fun stuff with our girls. Otherwise, I'd pick every night for Palo's... and brunch. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the advice on Palo dining. It will be my daughters first Palo dining experience. We chose to do it on the Castaway Cay night.

I am not sure how to send a PM. I have only responded to them in the past. We do want to participate in the FE though.

Hello everybody, We three (myself,DH and DD who is 6 ) are cruising with you all. This is will be our first cruising experience and our first time in Florida.Really looking forward to it.

Hello Mean Queen,
We are first time cruisers (not just with Disney ;-). We first booked the cruise and am still reading about the activities onboard and the excursions etc. I have no clue what 'fish-extender' is...I am 'googling' for it now. Will let you know soon. Thanks!

And also Mean Queen and fellow cruisers, I was more in to booking the 'Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter' excursion at Nassau as my DD has been a bottle nose dolphin fanatic and I see two schedules for that excursion. The morning one id from 9:15am to 1:45pm at Nassau. I see that the ship arrives at Nassau at 9:30am only. How do they do the excursion which starts at 9:45? Isn't the time interval too short? Please help me if you have done this before . Thanks!

It's just a gift exchange/secret santa type thing. The "fish extenders" are little pockets hung from the fish clip outside the room doors. Your fellow thread members who sign up will leave little gifts in these pockets and you do the same. Everyone seems to do the exchanges a little different. I'm all for just delivering when you can, but maybe we can work it out so there's a gift every day. So if one day would work best for you, call it. If you aren't sure, then don't worry about it. You'll just give who is in your room, the ages for the kids, and the room number.

Do a search on the DIS for Fish Extender or FE. There's directions to make on on the board or you can buy one from Ebay (I did.)

Hi Shay,

How does this FE work now? Are you going to give us a list of everyone participating, and is there going to be a cut off date for people that want to join? I may need a list when you board the ship otherwise.

We can do a cut off of when the first person leaves for the trip. If any late comers join, I can leave a note in the FE with their info with the understanding they may not get much since many people only bring enough for those originally signed up. I will get a list of the names, ages, and room numbers together. If anyone wants a certain day (for instance, if you have a pirate themed gift and want to do it on Pirate night) let me know. There just usually isn't a gift the morning we leave because everyone wants to pack their FE.

Whatever you think is good. I have never done this, my daughters and I are excited. We are leaving for our first cruise August 3rd, but we will be flying out the night before.

Hello everyone, we are first time cruisers on this ship. We are actually going on this cruise through the Make A Wish Foundation. There will be six of us going on the cruise - my 11 year old nephew (the "Wisher"), his mom, his grandpa, his aunt and uncle (my husband and myself), and his cousin (our 10 year old son).

We are very excited that the Make A Wish Foundation granted this wish! We have no idea what to expect, but we cannot wait!

Welcome aboard! Please let us know if you want to take part in the Fish Extender/gift exchange. I think your nephew will definitely have a dream trip. My DD will turn 11 the week before and she loves the ship (though she has no clue yet she will be on the ship in August. )

We'd love to participate but can you let me know what we are getting ourselves into? We want to make the most of this amazing opportunity!

It's a small cruise and so far it seems to be a small DIS group, so it shouldn't be a big hassle. Each family taking part will deliver a little goody to the "Fish Extender" of the other cruisemates. Gifts I have gotten have been anything from pirate themed goodies (tattoos, eye patches, bracelets), homemade Disney themed book marks, Princess items for girls, Cars items for boys, or even non-Disney related stuff that represents you. The items are always small and inexpensive, but nice to find when you get back to your room.

Hi everyone!! We just booked our trip. It will be the four of us. Myself and mother and two sons (5 and 9).
