August 12th-18th my master plan

Who: me, dh, and dd(8)
Where we are stayingVI
When: Aug. 12th-18th
Why: July 20th was our 15th wed anniversary and Aug. 29th is dd 9th B Day.
Type of passes: 1st time deluxe annual passes. We are planning a second trip in Aug. 2012. I'm also hoping for a trip in April for my B Day.

The plan:

Aug. 11, Thursday

Pack and do all the last minute things.

6:00pm. Pick up dh from work and head towards Portland. It's a tradition for us to stop in Wendy's for our send off meal.

8:00pm ish. Check in at the hotel. We like using the Park Stay and Fly Packages since we seem to always fly out early.


Aug. 12th, Friday

5:00am wake up call.
5:30am hotel shuttles us to PDX.
7:00am Jet Blue departs.
9:30am we arrive at LGB.
10:30am ish check in/leave our luggage at PVI.
11:00am ish walk to Disneyland and turn our AP vouchers into real APs.

I really have nothing else planned. I'm assuming that there won't be too many Rides with early return times for FP's. since this is a travel day, I don't want to stay up late. We'll probably grab some lunch and watch the Billy Hill show. Walk to DCA and watch some of the shows there. Then back to DL for the SS parade. Then call it a night.


Aug. 13th, Saturday

This is our Universal Studios day. We are using Greyhound tours. Our AP's are blocked this day. this is our first trip to US so I up graded to Front of the Line passes.

8:15am be at the bus stop in front of BWPPI.
1:00pm lunch ressies at Saddle Ranch.

Aug. 14th, Sunday

DL and DCA


Aug. 15th, Monday
This is our Knott's Berry Farm day. Again we are using Greyhound again.

8:15am BWPPI bus stop.

Since this is a 9 hour tour I'm assuming that we will be spending our late afternoon/evening in DTD or DCA or DL or a combination of those three.

Aug. 16th and 17th

DL and DCA

Aug. 18th, Thursday

11:00am check out of PVI

Lunch at Big Thunder Ranch

4:45pm car comes to take us to LGB

Flight home.

I'm taking my IPad with me, so I'm hoping to post up dates when I have some time. This trip we did not do a lot of planning. I'm hoping for a less commando approach. A lot more counter restaurants and just a lot more snack foods instead of meals. Since we have AP's we will be back. This is our first Summer trip; so, I'm planning on afternoon breaks. We are getting excited for our trip.

Wow! I just got my ressies for Big Thunder Ranch for the 18th for lunch at noon. It's kind of thrilling to do things at the very last minute. I think I will try to do a last minute ressies for Ariel's Grotto WOC dinner. I'm going to try for Wednesday Aug. 17th. If we do a WOC with a FP, then I'll cancel the dinner.

I got a WOC dinning package ressies for 7:50pm for the second show for Aug. 17th. Wow! There were a lot of times left, I hope that means it won't be too crowded.

Your trip sounds awesome! I'd love to read how the greyhound bus to Universal went when you get back. We almost did that for our trip last month but decided agaisnt it.

Can't wait to read more!

Daisy I'll try to write as much as possible because I couldn't find a lot of reviews on it. I know you don't get to US until an hour after it opens and I was told the bus leaves at 6:45 pm. About two hours before US closes. So, not a lot of time; but it seems that US can be done in one day.

Well, today is go time. I have a big pot of coffee brewed and a knot of excitement in my throat. I am always so scared that I will forget something important.

Packing day!! How exciting! I am also afraid of leaving something important behind. Once I thought I forgot my glasses, but discovered after we came back home that they were in a secret pocket of my backpack the entire time!

We'll be there at the same time as you (we arrive Tuesday). Perhaps our paths will cross! Will you have a Lime Green Mickey Head?

Well, it is the Saturday the 13th, we had our first day of Disney yesterday. I will post more of that wonderful day later.


I did forget something, I forgot to pack my socks! I ' ll be the one in the park with tennis shoes and no socks.

Our first Disney day.

Woke up at 5:00am. Hotel shuttled us to the airport at 5:30am. Went through security and waiting at the terminal at 6:00am. Boarded the plane at 6:30am. Flight departed at 7:00am. Landed at LGB at 9:30am. You can see I am obsessed with time and keeping it to a schedule. This whole trip is all about winging it. We will find out if I can do it.

Our car service picked us up and off to PVI we went. 10am we made it and our room was not ready, no surprise. Checked in our luggage and off to DCA. 10:30am going through the turnstiles.

Now, the time keeping stops. We just strolled through the streets towards ToT, which is dd face ride. Enjoying the smells and the sounds. It was a 25 min. Wait, so we got a FP. Monsters Inc. Was walk on.

It was close to 11am and we really had not much breakfast so, we stop at Piolets. We got in line and the took down the breakfast menu . So, it's ribs for breakfast. While we ate our breakfast ribs we got FP for soarn'.

After our yummy ribs, we walk to the meet Russel to get our wilderness badges. Dd ran and rip around. The badge ceremony was really cute.

We started back to the ToT to use our FP's when my dh noticed that Alladin was going to start in 13 min. So, let's go! Got good seats and enjoyed the show.

Used our FP for ToT. We got the cm Moses. What a great guy. He made our ride so very special. He was playing the crowd.

By now our Soarn' FP's were ready. But first, we had to get a premium Mickey ice-cream bar. I could eat one of these every day.

Soarn' was great. By this time it was 2pm and my family was hot and grumpy. Time to go back to hotel for a nap.

PVI has a social hour from 5pm-7pm. We woke up from our nap and headed to the social hour. The were serving. Chili, chips, green salad, macaroni salad and two soups, tomato and chicken noodle. It was just ok.

5:30pm we are headed for DL. We jump on the train right away to ride to NOs. Main Street was crowded from the up coming parade. We walked down to Indy and grab some FP's. Walked onto the JC. Very funny cm. He made me want to stay on his boat all night. Next we went to the HM. Then we wandered to the Pooh ride and drooled on the candy in the candy store.

Then we decided to see what the wait time was for BTR but it was down. Walk to tomorrow land and listen to the 80's band. Walked over to the Indy ride used our FP. 15 min wait for Pirates. Bengal's for a little snack. Then to main street for the fireworks.

You have hot some of my favorite things!! I love Soarin' it is my favorite ride!! Next time you want breakfast and you are in DCA head over to the GCH and visit White Water Snacks they have a good breakfast.

I love Bengal Bbq. Especially the bacon wrapped asparagus. Yummy!!
