August 12, 2011 Disney Dream Meet Link Here

Awesome thanks! I am going to take something for them to snack on because my 9yo HAS to eat lunch at noon. She is something else. My son just gets bored real fast but will have his MP3 player and PSP. I just need to keep them entertained. The boarding process is the only thing I am worried about. We are driving and plan to get there at 11 now that the port has changed its hours. It's okay if the cabin isn't ready, I just don't want to be frustrated before boarding either. I requested to join the group :)

If your kids like to swim, you might want to have their suits either on them under their clothes or handy in a carry on bag. The pools and Aquaduck will be open when you get on the ship, but you won't be able to get to your luggage. (You will also be able to get lunch right away too!!!)

Great tip! I hope to eat lunch but want a back-up plan just in case.

Oh, yeah... you should have something for your daughter for sure...can't be certain when we will get on the ship, that depends on what boarding number you get, and what time the ship actually clears customs, and we are allowed to board (it is usually right around 12...) but if she needs to eat at 12:00 I don't that will be happening on the ship! (and considering we are going to be one of the first few cruises happening right after the terminal switches over to the 11:00 time change, I can't wait to see what chaos is in store!!! :scared1: Hopefully, it will not be too much and we will have smooth sailing!!! :cloud9:)

Thank you for your kind words :) Aspergers is a high functioning form of autism. My son is more severe but I swear she is worse! She will behave on the cruise though, for the most part :)

No worries! I teach 6th grade, and we have an autistic support class in our building and have had students with aspergers mainstreamed into some of our classes. I understand her need for routine!!! I also know that DCL will do whatever needs to be done to help you make sure they have a great time - just let them know!!!

I should clarify, my son is more delayed than her, not really severe. She is 9 and two years behind grade level while he is 15 and on the same level as her. Are you guys going to the parks? We are for 2 days before and 1 day after.

Not this time...but we are staying at Port Orleans for 4 days after the cruise and going to Sea World and Aquatica... I am starting to miss the parks... I thought I would be ok with not going, but the closer we get, the more I miss them!!! Nick has a teacher friend from his school there right now with her family, and we keep seeing her pictures on FB and the two of us keep looking at them and sighing!!! :rolleyes1

I tried to stay at POR on the 16th but they didn't have availability! My husband retired from the army, we left Hawaii last June and went straight to disney. Tried to live in Jacksonville, FL, for 4 months but just could not find jobs. Before we moved to Jacksonville, NC, I took the kids to disney by myself in October. Then I took them by myself again in June! This time my husband is joining us. He prefers to cruise over the parks. We are staying at Shades of Green. My name is Wendy btw!

Oh and we went to Sea World last July. FUN! I am dying to find a closer water park than Myrtle Beach. I am planning on going to Blizzard Beach. Went to disney's water parks for the first time last month, FUN! Never been to Universal.

I have a newbie question. (or at least newbie to the pirate pirate: night) Do people usually just wear their pirate things for the deck party, or for dinner too?

This thread was started in March of 2010. By May 31st 2011 there were only 15 pages.....about 1 page per month average. :rolleyes1

Between may 31st & June 30th about 7 more pages.....pretty busy by comparison.:woohoo:

Between June 30th and July 31st about 24 more pages plus Facebook.....wow!:yay:

What will the next week and a half bring? Many of you will be trickling down to WDW or to the DCL area. I will be here til the end.....maybe by myself? pirate:

Oh, Gary, don't worry. I'll have the iPad with me and we'll be commenting and counting down until the boat! for the ? About pirate night, dress up for dinner.::wizard: we are into single digits for us. We still don't have our luggage tags from our TA yet. Starting to get a little worried:eek:

How's everyone's weekend going?

I got pretty much nothing accomplished yesterday. :confused3 Had all of the best intentions, lol. I did get some shopping done last night with a former co-worker I hadn't seen in awhile.

Today's agenda is separating the FE gifts into bags, laundry, and the start of packing. We are FINALLY down into single digits!!! My parents are up in our hometown in NY hanging out with my sister and her family today at the Saratoga race track. It's making me homesick a little bit. I was just up in May for a visit, but it's no fun seeing all their plans on FB and being stuck here.

Mama K just posted in our traveling parties FB group that it's official...she'll still be silent while on vacation. No talking allowed per the doctor, so the whiteboard is coming to WDW and the Dream.

We'll find out on Tuesday how crazy everything gets with the newly enforced port arrival times. I'm definitely curious.

Wendy, I added you to the FB group this morning. I don't know where Michelle's been, but I need her last name to get her added as well since her request never showed up.

Have a good day everyone!

Gary and Rae --

Quick question....with having 2 cabins for your families are you doing 2 fish extenders or 1? I want to make sure that everything gets separated and organized correctly.

Thanks!!

Janet has made two fish extenders, our cabin has two pockets and the cabin with my girls has three pockets.pirate:

Not really worried, I was just amazed how many pages we have added the last month.

I am just curious how many people will be adding to this thread as we get closer.
