Thank you! Since we booked our cruise last August, the year has just flown by. Now, I want it to go faster. It's all I think about.

Is your DS7 closer to 7 or 8? Does he play well with girls? Will he be going to the club? I have a DD-nearly 8 -- and she is going to be looking to make friends. She plays mostly with girls but plays with little boys too. Just curious...

On our first day Saturday August 12th 2006, Where are you planing to have your embarkation buffet:

Parrot Cay and Topsiders? (No reason just wondering)

Marco and I like Parrot Cay best !!! I especially love the sound of parrots as you enter the restaurant, the greens and pinkS on the walls and the large portholes !!!
Their buffet is always "fresh" and - to me - much appealing !!!

It is my favorite "breakfast-place" - when we are not heading for Palo's brunch !!!

YES, ME TOO !!!
I have a packing list - which I made years ago and update Summer after Summer: I tend to add items well, at times I cancell something too ... but ,hey, we are away from home for about 24 days !!!!!
and I like to bring with me those "little touches" that make me feel at home !!!
like my brush ,lip balm, a book ...
DGH is used to say that we could leave HALF OF THE STUFF at home !!! then HE is always bringing LOTS of camera and video supplies ... sometimes "hidden" among my blouses !!!

I love anyway THINKING OF /and / PACKING:that means I'm almost on vacation !!!!

College visits are done...
Now I only have 13 days til we leave for Florida. I hope I can get ready in that time. It's going to be crazy around our house.

Hi everyone, I think we will go to Topsiders, that way when DS-Johnny says he's not hungry : and wants to go to the pool we will be able to watch him I think

Just returned Saturday night from a great week at Bethany Beach in Delaware. And between now and the cruise, I have at least two - possibly three - business trips so lots of time in airports - my DD7 has Girl Scout camp, we have two sets of friends and relatives visiting, a dinner party at our house and who knows what else. Wonder if we'll have any time for packing?

I'm going down to WDW for a few days August 4-6th to visit with Laura and another couple that we both know. Then I will come home until the cruise. Hoping to meet LeiLani while we are visiting over at Wilderness Lodge.

Oh and you will be able to get lunch then eat next to the pool so John will be able to swim.

Hi Jeff,

DS7 (Jeffrey) is 7 1/2, and yes, he plays well with girls. He's a talker and seems to make friends fast. I have made reservations for him at the club. I'm sure they'll have a great time!

Well, we have 10 to 12 hours flight from Italy to Miami !!! then two days at Fort Lauderdale

recovering from jet.lag !!!!
Then DGH will drive up to WDW : we'll be staying at Beach club resort until the cruise !!!!


Yes,you're right, a long vacation ; DH can get away from his business ONLY in August !!! so this is our BIG Summer vacation !!!!

As you can tell we are a musical theater family. DH and I love to sing "i got you babe" on karaoke night, (mainly to embarass the kids) but we hope you will all come and listen.

Love the countdowns. Ben thinks they are particularly neat, the monorail one is his favorite. I keep popping into the DIS during the day at the moment and checking the cruise board. On the outside I am calm (I'm not known for my enthusiasm or excitement) but inside I'm:

My eye is still black and blue. People give me funny looks, but I think they are too scared to ask! Chuck saw the infectious disease doctor today and he has to stay on oral antibiotics for two more months. He will then stop them and test his blood and make decisions then. He is now walking without a cane, but he will bring it on our trip for support. Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts.

Jess is home, with no job. Since she had to be in school until now and then the vacation, she is not going to get hired for 3 weeks. I think she is already bored. We did go shopping and they already have the fall stuff in the stores and we were looking for cruise clothes.

Karaoke is when you get to pick a song from a big list. They have all kinds of songs, but not necessarily the ones you want. Most people don't realize that it is really hard to sing karaoke, even if you have a really good voice. You don't know what key it will be in, and it might not be in the one you are used to singing the song with on the radio. Also, we sound much better belting a song out in the car, so be prepared for some very "interesting" performances. Even though we are a singing family, we have picked some poor songs and have looked quite foolish. Chuck chose an Elvis song one time and well, let's say he didn't sound like Elvis. Then there are the "professionals". Some people like to golf, others go to karaoke nights. They have their own machines at home and you can tell they put on a great show. I just sing the fun ones! You will hear lots of "I will survive" which is a typical karaoke song.
We were on the old premier cruise line and they had a talent show that let you do whatever you wanted. I didn't see that on Disney before.

We ate at Topsiders last time, but I think we will try Parrot Cay this time.

It was over 100 today in Maryland. I told my two DD that this is probably what it will feel like in Disneyworld when we are there in August. We have always gone in the fall or winter so this will be a new experience. It may call for a visit back to the hotel in the mid afternoon.

Ok...it's official.......Im in packing panic!!! What am I gonna take? What are we gonna wear???? I know how to pack for Disney...not for a cruise..... but it's also soooo exciting!

Good Morning/Afternoon Everyone!!! Getting in my lime green mode.

We are finally home(Alyssa gets home tomorrow) and now I have to get started on packing for the next trip. We leave in 11 days. Brittany actually leaves in 9 days for her Caravan trip. We will meet up with her in Daytona before we go to WDW.

The college vists went good. It was an awful lot to see in one week though. We saw 8 colleges in 7 days, and by the time we got done they were all sounding and looking the same. The two that Britt liked the most were Virginia Tech and College of Charleston. She still has to look at University of Central Florida and possibly a few others in Florida and then we have to get on those college applications after we get back from the cruise.

Britt and I are off to do a little shopping today to get final things for the cruise. Hope everyone has a great day.

Hi John,

We are actually doing a Laura and Marco thing this year and taking a 3 week vacation. It's just me and the girls until the cruise. Rich has to stay home and work so he can pay for everything.

Brittany leaves a week from Friday for her Caravan trip(this is a trip organized through the local churches) and she will end up in Daytona Beach on Aug 5th. Alyssa and I, along with her friend Madeline, will leave a week from Sunday and fly to my parents home in Northwest Florida. We will stay there until Friday Aug 4th and then we will fly to Orlando so we can pick up Britt on the 5th in Daytona. We will then head to WDW where we are meeting up with Britt's boyfriend and his family for the week. We will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge Villas and then we will head out for the cruise on Saturday. It is a long vacation, but part of it is to see family and then we will be at WDW.

We hope to meet up with Marco and Laura and Beckie and Terry while at WDW so we can meet before the cruise. If anyone else is going to be at WDW the week before the cruise let me know and we can try to meet up.
