Just wanted to post a short review (no pics, sorry) of our dining for our trip about 10 days ago. We stayed at Pop Century on a bounce-back offer from last August and got the free QS dining plan. Between the four of us, we had 40 meals and 80 snacks to use up!
Pop Century dining - we got very tired, very quickly, of eating at Pop Century. Nothing wrong with the food, just the variety is pretty limited. I think we ended up eating three meals there and a breakfast. Loved the southwestern burgers with avocado and salsa, and the salmon burgers were good. We had pizza (okay), roast turkey meal (lots of turkey!) and were NOT able to trade a beverage for a snack. The breakfast was pretty awful - the french toast was NOT good.
Columbia Harbour House - loved the salmon here, and the shrimp mac n' cheese had lots of shrimp, but the pasta base wasn't great. Two people had the lobster rolls and I didn't hear raves about it. I think it was okay, just not stellar.
50's PTC - Daughter loves this place so we go every year. Paid out of pocket for those one, so we got the crab cake appetizer, and then split two of the Sampling of Mom's Favorite Recipes with fried chicken, pot roast, meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans, then split a chocolate milkshake between the two girls. We left feeling satisfied and not stuffed.
Sunshine Seasons - we raced in at the last minute after a Soarin' FP and eat quickly before it closed for the night. The Mongolian beef was REALLY good. I think fish tacos and sweet and sour chicken were also ordered, and my sister really liked the fish tacos. I was sort of amazed that everything tasted really fresh even at the very end of the night.
La Cantina de San Angel - we had the tacos de barbacoa and tacos de pollo and they were EXCELLENT. Loved the rice and beans. First time here and I will definitely eat here again!
BOG Breakfast - ordered Feast a la Gaston (3) and one open-faced bacon and egg sandwich. There's no way I'd pay for this out-of-pocket, but with the QS plan, it's a great ($100+) breakfast!
The Polite Pig (Disney Springs) - OMG fantastic! We had the beef brisket with coleslaw, roll, and a side (one mac n' cheese, one sweet potato tots) plus the St. Louis Ribs with a mac n' cheese side. The beef brisket was unbelievably good and the person who had the ribs said it was best meat they had ever eaten!
Snacks - loved the Dole Whips as always, had the huge chocolate chip cookie / ice cream sandwiches and double-scoop ice cream cones from Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, cinnamon loaf from Norway (excellent), a caramel apple in Germany (I asked them to cut it up). We ended up with left-over meals and snack credits, so the last night we bought over $120 of snacks (well, used up the credits) which was 24 credits (6 meals which gave us 18 credits total and 6 snack credits). Had a LOT of stuff to bring home as souvenirs for friends and family!
