Aug Trip from Seattle to Orlando All Set! UPDATED: What are your Trip ADRs?

Demi 8, You are going for a really long trip!:thumbsup2 I'm jealous. That's probably how your TA was able to get Ohana for you. At the 90 day mark, most people have shorter trips and wouldn't have been able to book 9-10 days past their arrival.

I forgot about the 90+10 ADR booking. Being a newbie to the whole Free Dining thing, I just never caught on to the benefit of staying more than 8 days, and booked us only a 7-night trip. Next time, I'll know better.

We are booked for Sept but I fell akin to this posting.

We are flying Seatac as we are saving huge of flying off the Island ($199 return) for five of us.
Great airfare! Which airline are you flying with and does it have stopovers? Just curious, as you got quite the deal. Also love your ADRs -- curious to know how your Aloha Show is.

I'm jealous of all you BC'ers going to Florida! I still trying to convince my DH that it's not too far for the kids to fly and that I'll survive the heat.

Those of you who have traveled to Hawaii, how old were you're kids when you went and is it a good place for families to visit? I've been thinking about trying Hawaii as a break from Disney.

Have a good trip all of you!

The August heat in Florida will be a true test of endurance. Hawaii is extremely kid friendly.

We took our DDs to Kauai when they were 7 and 10, and then to Maui when they were 8 and 11. I have friends who have taken their kids at 4 and 5, and they all enjoyed it just the same. In fact, their kids enjoyed it so much, they teared up when they realized they had to hop on a plane to go home. I also noticed that my DDs were smiling and gloriously happy in every picture. Kauai is much quieter than Maui, and your choice of islands depend on what you feel like.

Everything outdoors is like one big playground. Sand to build sandcastles, water to body surf in and snorkel in, resort pool where the kids can play for hours, and some great destinations to hike and take in the scenery. We have friends who prefer staying in a condo with kitchen facilities, and that works well for them. It depends on what you prefer -- condo or resort. We've done both, and my DH prefers resorts...so that's what we do.

Hope you get to try out Hawaii with your kids. Truly an amazing place.

We have always flewn Alaska but this time We are flying Air Tran with stopover in Atlanta. I watched Fare Compare and kept going directly to the airlines own web pages. I jumped when they had a web special. Bags are $15 but that doesn't deter.

While I am old enough to remember Polynesion theme restraunts in Canada they are long gone. It will be the closest we get to a tropical vacation for the next while so bring on the fire jugglers and hula skirts:cool1:

I'll laugh if we are on the same flight together!! :) We aren't doing free dining as we are travelling as DVC members but we do have reservations at Chef Mickey's and Chef's de France

I still need to book my overnight hotel in seattle. I'll look at that this weekend I think. :cool1::cool1:

Yay!!! This week, we completed the last few things for our trip:

- Paid the final deposit to WDW.

- Booked the overnight hotel near SEATAC airport for our 8:45am flight (great deal from Priceline.com -- got the Doubletree Seattle Airport for $45).

- Reserved a spot at the MasterPark Garage.

Now we just sit back and wait... :rolleyes1...what seems to be forever!

Well, I can always play around with our ADRs. ;)

Anyone else out there who wants to share their pre-trip excitement???

You mean Hawaiian Village? :goodvibes:lmao: I was thinking about that place a couple of weeks ago.

We are flying Seatac as we are saving huge of flying off the Island ($199 return) for five of us.

The parking lots made me nervous so we booked Park, Fly and then Stay on return at the Marriott https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/seasr-springhill-suites-seattle-south-renton/
For 125 we booked a suite, unlimited parking, shuttle and breakfast. Pretty happy with that and well darn we'll have to visit the Supermall on the way home!

We are huge Halloween buffs and put on a haunted display each year for charity so we are so stoked to do MNSSHP just purely for our own enjoyment. Costumes are sewn and waiting. MNSSHP after a day at Blizzard beach. I suspect we will sleep soundlessly that night.

Some of our ADRS are:
Crystal Palace
Tutto Italia
Park Fare
Sci Fi
Biergarten
and the Aloha Show

My countdown timer says 64 more days but somehow I found the time (at work) to count that I have amere 39 more working days to make it through. :dance3:

Hope all my BC counterparts have fabulous adventures and if you are down there Sept 20-28 may our paths cross:goodvibes

:cool1: That's where we are staying too!! Can't beat the deal, and free unlimited parking, they shuttle you to the airport and pick you up, plus free hot breakie. Well, we would get the free breakie if our flight wasn't at 6am, but we are staying on our return too, cause I'm just too pooped to drive after a long day flying.
Love Southcenter mall!!

Like both Cheesecake Factory and Bahama Breeze for dinner. Hard to pick which one!!:confused3

Cool! Love Southcenter Mall...and to stay in a hotel CLOSE to it...even better! In fact, as soon as we check into our Doubletree airport hotel, we're heading to Southcenter to have dinner at Cheesecake Factory. Have a great trip!!! :goodvibes

If everyone is up for the short drive to Seattle, it's the best and cheapest option. Our airfare on Alaska Air from SEATAC to MCO was $139 each way. Since we always fly Alaska, we had a lot of mileage points, so we used some of it to cut our airfare 50%. At the end of the day, we paid about $650 total(includes taxes) to fly 4 of us return.

Thank you!!! It's a great feeling when the whole trip comes together, and everything's paid up. Are you staying overnight in SEA?

For all Canadian DISers who have upcoming trips, wanna share your ADRs? I'll start. We managed to get the following:

Tokyo Dining (Dinner)
Crystal Palace (Breakfast)
Kona Cafe (Dinner)
Kona Cafe (Breakfast)
Boma (Dinner)
Teppan Edo (Dinner)
Trail's End (Dinner)
Ohana (Dinner...but at 8:55pm )
Le Cellier (Lunch)

We too feel like our vacay starts when we leave for Seattle. My car automatically veers into Seattle Premium Outlets :confused3 can't understand how that happens :rotfl:
Love Southcenter Mall, It's a hard choice to decide where to eat, we love both Cheesecake Factory (white choc. mac. nut mmmmmm) and Bahama Breeze!
Next time you fly out of SeaTac, check out Marriott Springhill Suites in Renton, Free breakie, free unlimited parking, and I mean unlimited, we are going to be away 3 weeks., and they shuttle you to airport & back. We've also stayed at Marriott Towne Suites, same deal. I got a great Entertainment book rate under $100. Way cheaper than just doing airport parking, not to mention the hotel room!

We are doing cs our first 4 nights at POR,
Then AP +DDP pkg for the next 5 nights at WL
Our ADR's are:
1900 Park Fair
Chefs de France
Teppan Edo
Kona Cafe dinner
Kona Cafe breakfast (Tonga Toast yum)
Yak & Yeti

Hey all you BC'ers i thought it was about time someone from Alberta chimed in.
going 31 July - 13 Aug.

Staying @ HGVC on Idrive. 16 of us meeting there, some driving and some flying.

Chef Mickey's for dinner
Wishes Dessert Party
Not on the same night of course.
Yea! Less than 2 weeks.

Looks like we'll be leaving for Florida close to the same time. The Wishes Dessert Party looks interesting. I was thinking about it too. But don't know if I could eat $17 of dessert :confused3 without feeling ill  So still thinking. Saw pics, they do look yummy.

yea 17.99 for dessert got me thinking twice, but not having to fight or reserve a piece of the sidewalk for spectromagic and sitting enjoying my creme brulee with my coffee while watching wishes...priceless.

:rotfl: That was in new West wasn't it?

LOL Yes! :thumbsup2 I remember going there quite a bit. There's a Chinese restaurant there now, though I can't think of the name of it.

So excited to see this thread!!!!

We are also from the Island and flying out of Seattle... didn't get as great of rate as you did we are paying $300 cnd but still way cheaper than flying from YVR...

I have a park and fly booked for the Redroof Inn for 137+tax, seems like they have re done all their rooms etc but I like your room rate better... Did you book online?

It is so great to see other bc'ers going around the same time... we will be at Pop Century from Aug 28th thru Sept 8

So a question for everyone that flies out of Seattle..... does anyone know if there is a restaurant/take out place close to the Hilton at SEA? We won't have a car and we are flying IN to SEA from BUF for our cruise in a few weeks - we land at 6:30pm after a 12 hr travelling day and I'm positive we will all be starving. Just trying to figure out if we are better to grab food at the airport before we head to the hotel via the shuttle or if there is somewhere to get something after we get to the hotel. The hotel has a restaurant listed on it's website but it's a steak house with ridiculous expensive prices - we won't want a huge meal as it will be 9:30pm on our body clocks when we land but will need to eat!!

I researched online. Checked out reviews on Travel advisor and then called direct. I know....over planner:confused3

I can't imagine my family eating $17 worth of dessert after our free dining TS dinner buffets. :rotfl: Oh my, talk about indulgence. Speaking of all that eating, I'd better get on my elliptical tomorrow and start my pre-vacation workout.

Love Southcenter mall!!

Hey, I think going to Southcenter mall is almost as fun as going to WDW. I also LOVE those premium outlets and the Trader Joe grocery stores. In fact, I have a shopping list already.

I've never tried Bahama Breeze before (because we can't stop going to Cheesecake Factory). I'm going to have to check out their menu online, if they have one. Thanks for clueing me in to this restaurant!

There's a place on Southcenter Parkway called Bai Tong that serves really good Thai food. You may want to google that to get the exact address. I heard it's very good. There's also a Denny's on International Blvd. Does the Hilton have a shuttle to Southcenter Mall? You may want to check that, because Southcenter has more restaurant options for you.
