Help fast - I'm making a list of our vacation plans for our daughter, since we will have her 3 kids with us, and SIL since she is watching the house, and can't find the emergency phone number for the ship. If we had our docs, sigh still waiting, I could look there. Would someone who is lucky enought and very kind pleas post the number for me? I know I could wait, but this will be one more thing to get out of the way. Today at lunch I have to go for dog food, so I have to stopt the mail and probably would be a good idea to start packing. feeling so great, next week at this time, we will be in Florida! Yippee we are finally in the single digits!!!

Kathy- David and I will be there bright and early at port. Last time we got there probably around 9:50am or so. I don't mind waiting to get in at all. Last time we stopped and talked to people that just got off the ship.

Well I only have 5 door signs this time, unless I get off my duff and make some more. I haven't even scrapbook our last cruise yet.

My main goal on this cruise is to relax and spend time with my honey, but knowing him he will be in the fitness room running (he runs marathons). Oh well I am sure I will have plenty of time to relax. I am looking forward to the clubs though- David keeps asking me if I have met anyone in our group that can join us in the clubs. I told him not to worry that there will be.

Yeah, we got our docs yesterday!!! Because we did the on-line checkin, it was kind of anti-climactic! Still very excited!! We arrive in at the airport at noon. We purchased the Disney transfers. My name is Gloria, my DH is John, DS (10) is Michael, DD (7) is Danielle, and DD (3 1/2) is Samantha. Can't wait to meet everyone.

For the new people we are meeting the first day at 3 in the Promenade lounge. I will have a bright pink shirt on, and I think it was marcie who will have on a green shirt. I will probably be holding a handful of pictures of you guys who have posted pics to try and spot you.

Mary, I will be looking for you guys because we will be there by 10:15. I will have your picture handy to make it easier for me to spot you. There will be 6 of us in our group. Look at campcoach's picture and ours and maybe you will be able to spot us too.!!!! I always spend my waiting time checking out people tryin g to connect with others before the meet. Thanks Kathy now that's 1 more thing to cross off my list. Also just returned from getting dog food, so I guess I'n now down to packing and getting my paper work in order, now if those docs would only come! I don't have any pictures, but my DH and I are in our late 50ths I have short curly brown hair, will usually have 4 GK's hanging around and my DS and DIL. Three GK's, 2 girls (5 and 11) and a boy (12) are my daughters, dark skinned with black hair. GS has his hair braided and the 2 girls are suppose to have their crown braided. Other GS (9) is pale (DIL worries about the sun) with dark blond hair. We have early seating and are on deck 2. DH can usually be seen in a Pittsburg Steelers cap. I have looked at all the pictures and will try to see some of you, don't know if I will make the meet.

hello again! my computor is finially fixed. I needed a new monitor. we are in the middle of packing, running out for last minute stuff, and packing some more! I wanted to let you know i got the haytt thru hote wire for $78 aug. 3 i will keep my eyes on it for when we return as well.

I now I probally missed some of this conversation but I am going to ask the question anyways. What can we do on our own in St. Martins besides shopping near the pier? my kids are 10,15,20. This is our 4th trip to this port and we have never been past the shops!

What about St. Thomas? I love St. john so we have never been to St Thomas either. Any suggestions? I am thinking about stepping out of my box.

Unfortunately, I can't give any port advice. This is our first trip! Although I'm curious too.

I thought of two questions this morning...

First, have any of you ever bought the cruise line's stateroom decorations? My husband's birthday is the 5th and I thought it would be cool to have it decorated for when we check-in. However, I don't want to spend the money if it's just a few cheapy decorations. Thoughts?

I was also thinking of doing a basket for him too. Any ideas? I have the link and numbers for The Perfect Gift. I thought I would try there.

Also, how often does the Disney transportation leave from the airport? I ask because several of us are getting into Orlando between 11:30 and 12:30 on Saturday (and are using the Disney transfers). Chances are that we'll all end up on the same bus, right?

Okay...gotta get back to work!

ok, first I have the Hyatt booked for the 2nd, flight gets in at 11:30 pm for $199, I see there is one on Hot Wire for $78 is it the same amendities that you booked? I am tempted, but with my luck with not get the Hyatt. I really don't want to shuttle to a motel or pick up the rental car a day early, we are staying 2 nights at the Royal Crowne at DDT.

We have been to St. Thomas/St. Marten 2 times so if you let me know what you are interested in maybe I can help.

Marcie, I think it was you that mentioned about the time you were leaving the resorts. Where do you find out this info. By the way, I called today to order my Visa Rewards Card. So I'm thinking that even if it doesn't make it on time, I can go to guest relations and at least I'll have a number that they can retrieve. I spoke to a guy yest. that said I could just go to Guest Relations, but I figured I'd better not risk it. We have $91 pts. that'll come in VERY handy.

I just went to Wal-Mart today and told my DH that I'm sure I'll be spending $100. Sure enough it came to $100.78!!! Unbelievable. I have my 2 cousins b-days this weekend and someone else I know just adopted a baby. So I had lots of gifts, cards, wrapping paper etc. to buy. THEN I must've parked on a screw because my tire was almost completely flat and there was a nice big screw in the tire. I made it to a gas station that actually worked on tires (what are the chances!!???) They repaired it for $23. Not bad, but I need this money for vacation!!! I swear every one of my bills has been $100 recently and I just paid most of them since we will be gone for so long. Grrrr!! I do still have my secret stash of rewards cards, Christmas money, Dividend checks, Work rewards travellers checks. So it all sort of seems like free money. I definitely miss that onboard credit that we usually have. I also bought Tide to Go pen, Downy Wrinkle release, Continuous Tanning spray, (they have Pirates of Carib. spray too, but I wasn't going to go that far w/ the Pirate stuff!! lol!) So, now I'm really getting excited. Taking the dog to mom and Dad's in PA on Fri. Gotta get going.

Tara, I ended up calling my resort who then connected me to DCL. So, you can probably call straight to DCL and I asked them what time the bus leaves from Caribbean beach resort. She said be there no later then 12 and the bus leaves at 12:30.

Okay, gotta get back to work, I am running around here crazy trying to get everything finished up before I leave.

I have never used the perfect gift, but I have heard wonderful reports on it. Everyone says Shirley is awesome with gift baskets. I had a friend that used her and was very happy with the results.
We did the anniversary decorations once, it was very nice, but it was just like what you would buy in a party store, paper and cardboard stuff, but it was festive and really brightened the room. I still have them.

I dont know what the bus schedule is at the airport. But usually there are several buses there and a ssoon as one is filled it leaves and then they fill the next one and go. No trouble in filling them up, lots of people use them. I'm sure a soon as you cheeck in you wont have a long wait. If you want to travel together, just check in together when you report to the buses and tell them you are together, shouldnt be a problem.

we are looking to do something other than St. Martin shopping. my kids do range from 10 to 20 so i definatly want something they would like to see. i am just wondering what is beyond the shops.

one of the two stops we will have a beach day that is why I love St. Johns,but maybe I am missing something always going back to the same place. just a thought. I have never seen St thomas.

i am really open to ideas. i really do not want to pay dcl $, just do it on our own

Are there any carriage rides on the eastern or western cruises? I am thinking of the carriage rides in central park NYcity. My youngest missed out on that in charlston a few years back. I would love to do it this vacation.

I got my docs, now its official!
In St. Marten we have gone to the butterfly farm, it was nice.
The first time we went to Orient Beach, and that is what we are planning to do this year first thing in the am using a taxi coming back around 1 and then shopping.
We have gone to Megans Bay in St. Thomas, it is a really nice beach. This year we are going to go to Coral World and then to the beach next door to snorkle.
I guess I'm too much of a chicken to try Hot Wire, I know it's a savings but arriving that late I want to get off the plane and step into the hotel. If I would get anyplace else and need the rental car for an extra day it would off set the cost, don't want to shuttle back and forth to the airport the next day. At least the Hyatt includes a full breakfast for all of us.
Well I really need to start packing guess I put it off long enough.

We are planning to head to Orient Beach again in St. Maarten. We loved it and we did it on our own, no DCL excursion. I think round trip it cost us $15.00 for 3 of us. We are going to Bikini beach which has lots of watersports (water trampoline, jetskis, parasailing, windsailing ect..). We usually do this in the am and leave to shop in the afternoon (better bargins). The Magic is the only ship in port that day.

We did the Doubloon in St. Thomas and LOVED it!! It was so much fun. This excursion fills up fast due to the pirate theme. This time around we are doing the St. Johns Barefoot snorkeling thing.

I am trying to tie up loose ends around here. I need to call the pharmacy to get refills on medications. Other than that I will fininsh laying things out and then do the final pack on Wednesday.

Looking so forward to meeting all of you. Kathy,I will keep an eye out for you and your daughter at the terminal.
