~ Aug 2013~ Sew what... We've gotta find a way back! Part I!!

So glad that you finally have a diagnosis. :goodvibes

I know - it's always fun to participate in the launch! Congrats on selling your set so quickly - it was adorable!!! :cloud9:
D~

Thanks... I am always surprised when it sells and then nervous they are going to hate it when they receive it in person.:scared: I'm glad I don't do this for a living. I don't think my heart could take the stress all the time :rotfl2:

How great it is to hear from RuthIE!! Still praying for great recovery there!!

And she's, Right, I suppose, about the Dr. Although in my case it was a chiropractor who helped with a long term problem. I've had on and off issues with my side since I was a teenage. Apparently some trauma in my youth caused my L5 to adjust itself out of place, stressing my nerve. Anyway wouldn't have found out if I hadn't gone to my Dr.

And hurray for V!!

ladies please what is happening here I thought traditionally its a 'guy thing' to
avoid doctors like the plague and not take care of ourselves ! please stop the insanity of self diagnosis If you are blessed to have insurance use it If not get to a clinic
Please do not assume since you have similiar symptoms to a family member a neighbor OR the school lunch lady (sooo couldn't resist) that you know what it is

I care about you all, doctors visits scary, but look around at your beautiful families, take a mental picture including yourself.....now remove yourself from the picture
You're no longer here how are they doing ?

lecture over

Sigh... I know better... It's just very difficult for me to go to the Dr. Everything you said makes perfect sense... I am just happy that I went and hope to get some resolution.

:love the nephews baby romper looks so snuggly

Thanks RuthIE!

happy for V
praying Ali is fine + that crap ends soon

Thanks... I hope so too... I will do a small Alli update below.

:have not heard from anyone yet re-Maxine my horse but
very optimistic

Arm pain excrutiating but its only been 10 days could be worse

I feel your love care & prayers and send it all back to you, especially
those of you dealing with own issues right now

RuthIE

I really hope you start to feel better soon RuthIE... My girls ask about you every single day. :grouphug:

Boy, I miss a day and look what all happens! So glad that there may be help coming for RuthIE!!! What a great network of special people here on the DIS and especially this thread! Hope they contact her soon and get it all worked out.

I agree! I will do a RuthIE update below.

D~ I am so glad you went to the doctor and it may be resolve soon. The pain you described would scare me too! Hopefully it is just the gallbladder and you can have the surgery and be good as new. Better than new even

Better would be awesome! :cool1: But yes, I agree - I hope it is resolved soon.

I agree with RuthIE that we ladies need to go to the doctor on a timely basis. We have a lot of responsibilities to a lot of people and owe it to those we love to take really good care of ourselves. Having said that, I always wait before going. I attribute that to being in the health care profession at one time and seeing people coming into the ER with a hangnail. So I tend on the other side of the spectrum thinking "it's nothing. it will go away". But I'm trying to do better about taking care of myself.

And I agree with you - I am not that way due to being in the health care profession though... but I always think that things will just go away - or they are a result of my imagination (I do have an active imagination... :rolleyes1)... I could go on and on...

Glad V got the braces off and is happy.

Can't wait to see pictures of your latest bag. Sounds as though you're close to finishing it. BTW I went to Target yesterday to get 3 or 4 grocery items...ended up spending $140!! I thought of you while I was there.:flower3:

Have a great day!

I can't wait to show pictures of her... I made Alli promise to take her out this weekend.

LOL on your Target trip... It's like the dump stuff you need into your cart when you aren't looking... :confused3

I hope that your pain is being caused by something that they can easily treat and it won't end up needing to be surgery to remove your gall bladder. But if it is, gall bladder surgery is a breeze. I had my gall bladder taken out several years ago. It wasn't a big deal at all. I felt so much better afterwards.

Thanks Diane - I sure hope so.

IThanks for the updates on RuthIE and on Alli's jacket. I am glad to hear that RuthIE is going to get some help and I hope that the girl doesn't end up connecting the jacket to Alli.

Thanks Diane... I agree... I will do a RuthIE update below and an Alli jacket update too...

IHow great that V finally got her braces off. I know my girls just can't wait to get theirs off. It should be in the next couple of months.

I didn't realize that BOTH of your girls have braces on right now... Yikes... yes - they both will be glad to get them off... V is still adjusting - she says it feels so strange to "feel" her gums.

IOh and I have to say that I am glad that somebody asked about the applique on the blue GAC holder. I didn't understand what the big red S was for either. What is the new game?

It's a card game at the MK... I don't know much about it though - I just know that kids love it and some of the trading cards are hard to get... Maybe someone here can fill you in?

Jennifer - I didn't realize you had done the college program at WDW.

I didn't either - that is AWESOME! What was your "job"????

I'm looking forward to seeing Vs pictures after her photoshoot with Alli. I guess that rubberband wearing paid off. I had to go back and re-read your PTR so I could see big pictures of all the bags and baby stuff you posted. All I have to say is WOW. Callie's Meg bag is so cute, love her expression. The camera strap is lovely and the GAC holders are perfect. Stitch is cool! Love the way Mickey's hat is sitting on his head on the Sorcerer Mickey bag and for a DIS Meet.

Thanks Liz... I hope you had an amazing trip! I loved the pictures you posted on FB - I hope you'll post more. :wizard:

I love the overalls you made for the baby. I always made my kids wear those kinds of one-piece outfits. I love how they kept their tummies covered up and their diapers in place. That blanket is amazing. I'm sure that will be a big hit with mom and baby. Too bad you can't see the yellow flannel better. I'm also glad to hear that you don't like binding. Yours looks great but it makes me feel better about my troubles with bias tape

Thanks... I only wish that the legs had snaps in them... I'd love to get a nice snap press - but I don't know how much use it would actually get, and it's kind of an expenive gadget - unless I am going to use it a lot. :confused3

I just wanted to say: to you and Marianne for trying to figure out a way to help RuthIE with her animals.

Awww Thanks... I would do it for any of you - honest. I will do a RuthIE update below.

So glad to hear that V got her braces off.

And I'm delighted to know that you won your fear over the doctor and went to your appointment. Sending pixiedust: that they find the answers when you go for your ultrasound.

Thanks Kathy... I hope so too.

Glad to hear the good news that RuthIE will be getting some help with the animals.

I know - super happy about this!

guess I missed that you weren't feeling well, happy you got to the doctor though, hope the ultrasound will rule out gallstones, but heard the surgery is much easier than it used to be!

You probably missed it because I didn't write about it. LOL It's been an ongoing issue for a very long time and I just needed to get over my fear of going in to get it checked out.

for V getting her braces off...how do her teeth feel?

She says that they feel "strange" - LOL At one point, she wished she could have them back on... I offered to fulfill her dreams, if she had $6k in her back pocket. LOL

great that Marianne found some help for Ruthie! hope she is feeling better!

I agree - so happy and so relieved!

Where have i been that i didn't know about you not feeling well?!?!?!?! I am extremely angry at myself as a Diser and Friend!!!

Don't be angry at yourself... I never mentioned anything about it... Well, I did - way over a year ago, and I don't think I've mentioned much about it since. So, no worries, don't feel bad.

D~ - coming out of hiding again to say I completely get avoiding going to the doctor. I am the same way! For me it's not a fear of the unknown; I've had plenty of experience with the medical field, and it has made me the way I am.

Thanks for coming out of hiding again - you should do it more often. :wizard: It's so hard to take care of ourselves - it always seems to me that there is so much going on - aside from my fear - it's very easy to tell myself that I just don't have the time.

I have been having "issues" a little lower for years, and kept hoping for menopause, and finally had a robot-assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy last October. My surgeon said I had "the worst fibroids he had ever seen in a white woman". I didn't even know I had fibroids! And yes, I have gotten regular ladyparts checkups - for what they were worth. Imagine my delight when I learned that with RALH, apparently they usually remove your cervix too - so no more pap smears for me!!!!!

So glad that you got things taken care of. And how wonderful - no mor paps for you!

My recovery was a breeze, even though I had kind of a complicated surgery (for the doctor) due to the size of my uterus. Getting over the anesthesia was more difficult, but I truly had no pain from the surgery, particularly since I was living with constant pain for a couple of years prior to the surgery.

I can totally understand that. So glad that your recovery was easier than the pain you were dealing with.

Good luck with your diagnosis and treatment - sending positive thoughts!

Thank you so much!

WAIT a dog gone minute here!

I had my cervix removed 10 years ago due to cancer and I STLLLLLLLLLL have to get a pap every year! So not fair!

Nini

(sorry for the hijack!)

Nini... I am sorry, but I just think that you are perhaps the luckiest person in the world. If it's going to happen to anyone, it seems to be you, my friend. On the up side of that though - because you have so much knowledge from your life experiences - you save all of us from a lot of needless stuff. :wizard: And we love you for it. :grouphug:

So glad that you finally have a diagnosis.

Thanks Michelle!

Thanks... I am always surprised when it sells and then nervous they are going to hate it when they receive it in person.:scared: I'm glad I don't do this for a living. I don't think my heart could take the stress all the time

I have the same issue Michelle - it's not just you. I get that feeling every single time I send something out.

How great it is to hear from RuthIE!! Still praying for great recovery there!!

Me too!

I am so glad you were able to get it figured out Ruth!

**********************************************************

A good RuthIE update: I got a text from RuthIE yesterday, and she was contacted by Marianne's BIL... I guess he lives the next town over, and they were able to work something out with RUthIE's animals... I am not sure what all transpired, but I am just very happy that she is getting the help that her and Maxine (her horse) need, and there is someone out there that is willing to do it! I am so relieved for her, and I know that RuthIE is relieved as well. Please continue to keep her in your prayers because she continues to be in a lot of pain.

**********************************************************

Alli's jacket update: Sorry that I don't have much of an update to update... but the officer finally called me back yesterday - but I was at Target all day and couldn't return his call. I will be calling him this morning.

**********************************************************

Target was boring yesterday, as usual. popcorn::

Then I had to rush around after work... Alli wanted to go back to Target to get some Valentine's stuff for her friends at school... Then I had to rush to the town 20 miles away to get MM's food before they closed... Then rush home to make dinner (frozen pizzas)... Then Josh and I worked on some Planning Commission stuff - not sure if I told you, but Josh was appointed to Planning Commission in January, and since I am on City Council - I was appointed to sit on PC, because we have to have one CC person that does both. :hippie:

Josh invited me out on a "date" today.... He invited me to go to the RV show up at the convention center. We've been looking at possibly getting something REALLY TINY to pull behind the Jeep... We love going for Jeep rides when the weather is nice, and we've been talking about how fun it would be to have a little camper to tow behind (because I dont tent camp anymore... Had a bad experience with bears before we were married...)... So, we are looking at (eventually) getting a teardrop camper. Conincidentally, theya re having the RV show this weekend - so Josh wants to go check it out. :wizard: It should be fun!

Which means that I must get up to my sewing room EARLY so that I can get a good portion of my bag done this morning before I leave.

I hope you all have an magnificant day and weekend! :cloud9:

D~

Great news about RuthIE; I will continue to keep her in my prayers.

Have a fun "date" and a great weekend.

Nini

Hi Nini! I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but I live just down the road from you, in Morgan County. :wave2:

Well you may want to ask your doctor about that. Because the one and only thing a pap smear checks for is cervical cancer, so no cervix = why?

My doctor went on to say that we could still do one until my insurance decides not to pay anymore, since I have no cervix . . . and I looked at him and thought, "Ha! You'll never see me again!"

D~, just wanted to say that we went to an RV show years ago, and we don't even camp or anything, and it was a blast! There are some jaw-dropping options out there. It was a great way to spend the afternoon. Hope you have an awesome date! :lovestruc

Well, they told me the pap also checks for other things as well...but they aren't exactly taking it from the cervix... so it is about a thousand times more...uncomfortable!

And...the pap did NOT catch my cancer! A complaint about something else did...

(I promise...no more hijacking....)

Nini

D-you raised pretty awesome young ladies compassionate like their momma (josh sounds wonderful too ) asking about me evrryday is very touching I can't wait to meet them
In moments of 'what would I do if money was no object top of the list would be to get every family within this Dis family together for the most awesome Dismeet ever !

First got a phone call from friend on my horse owners thread although I missed the call, she
left a touching message 'praying that someone comes forward with a one time love offering to help with Maxine until others can be found to stay on top of things'

Co-worker and his daughter coming Sun to do just that, will also involve approx 80 mile R/T for them most surely an act of love :-)

Spoke to Mariannes cousin's husband more love they are coming Tues with their Vet (best meet & greet ever looking forward to ) they are over in next town (not exactly around the corner...think country miles) he is so nice not just what he was saying help is on the way..and he knows this will be a commitment for many months but the very tone of his voice made me feel like I could relax and fall back into a cloud of marshmellows

Very Blessed

have an awesome day my Dis family I thank everyone of you for your thoughts and prayers keep them coming I return them to you

For you in path of what they're saying is expected 'historic snow storms' :wave2:
please be safe

RuthIE oh FYI the dogs..all 7 of them...are being sooo good actually being quiet when I rest but somebody not sure who is acting out dug a hole so deep I think it could be a shortcut to EPCOT :faint:

I survived the Dr. everyone. :woohoo: :rolleyes1

They seem to think it's my gall bladder... :confused3 I go in next week for an ultra sound and follow up.

Thanks for your good thoughts today - I really appreciate it. :grouphug:

D~

I'm behind so I am getting the pre-and post story at once. I'm so glad you made the appointment to see the doctor, and if it is gall bladder, it's not that bad. I had my gall bladder act up while I was pregnant with my first. They gave me a diet to follow (basically no fried foods) and that cleared it up. So maybe watch that a bit and it might help.

Oh - and V did get her braces off this morning. :thumbsup2

Pictures later. :woohoo:

Yay!! Connor was complaining about his rubber bands (he's had the longest most complicated orthodontic experience). I mentioned V's situation with not wearing them and having to keep them on longer (I may have exaggerated the time :rotfl:), but it worked ;)

D~

Hi Oopsi!!! Yah - I think I spelled assess wrong though... LOL I think I left an "s" off at the end, and I was too lazy to go back and change it. :rolleyes1

I don't have any jacket updates either. :( Due to all the appointments yesterday, I did not get a chance to call the officer back. I hope to do that this morning - otherwise tomorrow for sure.

**********************************************************

I am feeling lots of relief after seeing the Dr. yesterday. I really liked him a lot and wish I could keep him as my regular Dr. - but unfortunately, he is in the later stages of his career and only in the office one day a week - so he doesn't see any regular patients. Oh well, he gave me a few good names, so I have a follow up appt. with someone next week - after my ultra sound, so hopefully I can get the results at the same time.

D~

:rotfl2: I was wondering why that got ****** out!

Ugh on the coat situation - I can't believe someone would take a coat!

So glad you are feeling better after seeing the doctor, but sorry that he's not going to be able to see you regularly. It's hard when you finally find someone you are comfortable with, to go and have to do it all over again.

:confused3 ladies please what is happening here I thought traditionally its a 'guy thing' to

You're no longer here how are they doing ?

lecture over

You are so right...and it is such a relief when you find out that everything is ok (most of the time).

I have a spot on my big toenail on my left foot. I casually mentioned it one day to DW, who is a physician. She said call the dermatologist now - I literally broke into a cold sweat. She does not overreact, so I panicked, googled, panicked some more. Anyway, I went in and am scheduled for a biopsy on Tuesday. She had been pushing me all week to call the surgeon and have it pushed up, or for her to make a professional courtesy call and I have refused. I will go on Tuesday but the fear is paralyzing and I just haven't been able to make the call to make it sooner.

I am a very positive thinker, and I am going with the assumption that this will be nothing and we will have all panicked for no reason. But things like this are reminders to not put things off and to take better care (eat right, sunscreen, etc.)

Have a great date! So if you get a camper does this mean you get to camp at FW?? I am not a camper, have never really done it and truthfully have no desire, except when I picture in my head being able to live at WDW for like a month :rotfl2:. I don't even know if that's possible, but in my head it is ;).

My only date today is with my couch (and whichever family members choose to join me there) as I prepare to get snowed in!

Oh, and I must thank you again for the planner idea. I am close to done with the surprise one for our cruise (pics are on my PTR). I am going to change a few of them, but I am so excited because I think it will be fun way to surprise them all!

I'm so glad Rutie is getting the help she need. She will still be in my thoughts.
Have fun on your date this weekend.

I will be packing this weekend. I starts the journey to the USA and Walt Disney World on Monday morning :cool1: :cool1: I'm not sure how much I will be able to follow you the next month while I'm away.

D I am glad you found out that it is your gallbladder causing you pain. I remember having one attack and I thought I was dying it was the most horrid pain imaginable.

I had mine out at 26 and was one of the best things I did. I personally did not have the easiest recovery as some but it was not horrid. I was back to being myself in 4 weeks which wasn't too bad.

I am so glad to now have a GAC holder for our next trip.

Good for you, going despite your fear! Sending best wishes that all goes well at the doctor's next week!
By the way, I just credited you with much glory in my pre-trip with a bag my daughter and I made. :goodvibes

so happy everything is working out for Ruthie in getting help with her animals!

I'm sure V teeth do feel weird, I remember when I got mine off, felt like they were floating!

have fun looking at RV's and time with Josh!

Rv show sounds like a lot of fun. DH and I are going to the Home Improvement show with friends tomorrow. It's actually a ploy to get them out of the house for a surprise birthday party for both of then. The hubby knows about the party for the wife, but doesn't realize it has expanded to include him. Should be fun.

Terkina, have fun packing and I hope you have a save and wonderful trip! Have a Mickey Bar for all of us while you're there!:goodvibes

So absolutely happy about the help coming for RuthIE!!! Will continue to pray for quick recovery and less pain! Isn't it funny how much you can care about someone whom you've never met? I think that must make God smile.:)

Have a great weekend!

D.......I am so sorry, I am such a horrible friend! I had no idea all this stuff was going on. I pay close attention to you on FB, but I have been seriously neglecting the DIS because I am just so upset about not being able to take our trip this year. :sad2: Bad DISfriend.....Bad Suzi :sad2:

I had to go way back to page 125 to find where I left off...between my new job (less time during the day on the computer), no trip on the horizon, and a really really slow computer at home...I have just been out of the loop. I promise I will do better!

So....

I absolutely love the cut chenille quilt. As a mom of a little boy I can say that the fabric choice is just perfect! It is so hard to find things that aren't too "babyish" and this is just wonderful. It looks so soft and cozy!

Love the "doggie print pants" too....again, great fabric choice!

Those little girl outfits you posted from a while back.....OMG! As if I didn't think you were talented enough! Holy cow....you make me wish I had a girl so I could commission you to make me some. I second Mo's comment....Does that come in an XL??

RuthIE ---- So glad to hear she is finally getting some help. The world is full of wonderful people and too often we only hear about the bad stuff. I know, her injury is bad...but that so many people on here are willing to help and put her in their prayers....just love the DIS! I wish I had known about it last week when we were in Cape Coral, I would've been up there in a heartbeat to help. **Feel better soon Ruthie!!! **

So sorry about the whole Alli fiasco  It just sucks all around. I'm sure you are sick of talking about it...just know I hope that girl gets what she deserves! :thumbsup2

The sweet treats GAC pouch is beautiful. Love that fabric!

Oh, and I wanted to tell you...I read somewhere on here a recommendation you gave someone on a Kate Morton book. I have started the Forgotten Garden. Gotta say, I like the storyline very much, but it is really confusing how they keep jumping around from person to person and century to century. I am about half-way through and I will definitely read something else by Morton when I am done. Thanks for the recommendation, even if it wasn't to me ;)

RV shows are so much fun! I grew up owning a campground, so you could say that camping is a big part of my life. Bill and I have owned two campers and have just recently down graded to a tent because we can't afford the campers anymore. But we still love going to RV shows. In fact, I just got an email telling me about the annual one around here. Thanks for reminding me about that too! Hope you guys have a great "Date night".

Again...I am so sorry I have missed so much and I hope you can forgive me. I promise to be better. You are such a wonderful person and always so caring about other people on here...I just feel so horrible about missing your recent troubles.   Next time, you need to give me a nudge on FB "Suzi...where the heck are you??" or something ::yes::

Then Josh and I worked on some Planning Commission stuff - not sure if I told you, but Josh was appointed to Planning Commission in January, and since I am on City Council - I was appointed to sit on PC, because we have to have one CC person that does both. :hippie:

D~

This is funny because I work for the County Planning Commission as a land use planner! I also serve on the borough PC - and have for 21 years. sigh. I've been chair since 1996.

DH and I have a camper - a Rockwood Roo hybrid. I love it but we haven't been camping recently. I'm hoping to go over to the state park (which is only about 15 miles from home) this spring. We can take the dogs with us and my brother and his wife usually go too. I love going to the rv shows too. So many new things to see!

This weekend we are going to the Home Improvement Show and then out to dinner with my co-workers. We have a contest in my department to guess how many total plans we will get by the end of the year and I won this time! So my dinner is free! The contest started out as a joke about 15 years ago, with the winner getting a free dinner at a mens sports club that the guys in my department belong to. I won that one (the only time I've won until this year). After that we let the winner choose a restaurant. It was always just the coworkers, but last year we invited the spouses too since my boss was retiring and it was his last dinner. My department is down to 4 people, so we invited the spouses again this year. We're going to Cheddars this time. Luckily it doesn't look like we are going to get much snow - we are just on the edge of the white stuff.:cheer2:

Enjoy your date night!:flower3:

Hey D, I have to catch up later, but can you point me in the right direction of that sparkly fabric I love so much. pretty please! I just got a fabulous idea for it

Thanks!
Erin

Great news about RuthIE; I will continue to keep her in my prayers.

Have a fun "date" and a great weekend.

Thanks Kathy for continuing to keep RuthIE in your prayers. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, as well. :) I need to get over to your TR - it's been a few days since I've checked for it.

Hi Nini! I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but I live just down the road from you, in Morgan County.

I am sorry but this made me ROFL... I'd be right there with ya!

D~, just wanted to say that we went to an RV show years ago, and we don't even camp or anything, and it was a blast! There are some jaw-dropping options out there. It was a great way to spend the afternoon. Hope you have an awesome date!

We had so much fun! I give you all the details down below. :)

D-you raised pretty awesome young ladies compassionate like their momma (josh sounds wonderful too ) asking about me evrryday is very touching I can't wait to meet them

Thanks Ruthie... but I'm not done with them yet... Unfortunately - they are at an age where anything can change them - and even more unfortunate is that I am they type to hold them closer rather than let them go - which could be good or could be bad. Either way - we love them both to death, and they KNOW it. And I pray every day that we have given them the right tools to know right from wrong, and to make the best decisions they possibly can.

In moments of 'what would I do if money was no object top of the list would be to get every family within this Dis family together for the most awesome Dismeet ever !

Me too... I am actually "committed" (over on the Disbou thread) to paying for a Disney cruise for everyone when I win the lottery... I should really start playing some day. :rotfl2:

First got a phone call from friend on my horse owners thread although I missed the call, she
left a touching message 'praying that someone comes forward with a one time love offering to help with Maxine until others can be found to stay on top of things'

Co-worker and his daughter coming Sun to do just that, will also involve approx 80 mile R/T for them most surely an act of love

I am just so very happy that things are falling into place for you... It's been such a rough couple of weeks with so many unknown factors, and I know it is such a relief to have Miss Maxine taken care of. I hope that these people are able to give you the time to heal that you need, and it sounds like they will - such wonderful people. Marianne has been such a wonderful friend to me - and I have no doubt that her family is every bit as generous and loyal as she is. :lovestruc

have an awesome day my Dis family I thank everyone of you for your thoughts and prayers keep them coming I return them to you

I continue to pray for you, Maxine and the dogs Ruthie... I hope you were able to rest and relax yesterday.

For you in path of what they're saying is expected 'historic snow storms'
please be safe

Yes, I totally agree... I know many of you are in the path of Nemo... Please stay safe!

RuthIE oh FYI the dogs..all 7 of them...are being sooo good actually being quiet when I rest but somebody not sure who is acting out dug a hole so deep I think it could be a shortcut to EPCOT

So glad the dogs are being good... You can send them to my house, I could really use a shortcut to AK... :scratchin

Thanks Christine... You know, this does make total sense. I do find that my diet does change how often I have the pain... When I am eating better - I definately have less occurances than when I am eating like crap. And I can almost guarantee that if I've had a bad eating day, I will have the pain. Also - Chipotle totally throws me into the pain, almost immediately... and it's always the worst... I've never been able to figure out why their food does that to me - the sad part is that it's my FAVORITE place to eat, but I've just had to swear it off completely. About a year + ago, I changed my diet drastically... I don't eat very many processed foods or fast foods - I try to eat as natural as I can, and to be honest, it hasn't helped much. :confused3 I told Josh yesterday that I hope they take my gallbladder out so I can eat at Chipotle again. :rotfl2:

I was wondering why that got ****** out!

Ugh on the coat situation - I can't believe someone would take a coat!

I know... It's just insane. Who would ever think to lock up their coat? We do now... And I hope everyone else does too. Sad.

So glad you are feeling better after seeing the doctor, but sorry that he's not going to be able to see you regularly. It's hard when you finally find someone you are comfortable with, to go and have to do it all over again.

I k now - I am a bit nervous about it... but I hope it will be OK.

ACK!!! Please keep us updated about this... I sure hope it turns out to be nothing! Sending prayers and good thoughts your way!

Have a great date! So if you get a camper does this mean you get to camp at FW?? I am not a camper, have never really done it and truthfully have no desire, except when I picture in my head being able to live at WDW for like a month I don't even know if that's possible, but in my head it is.

Well, at this point in time... If we get a camper, I dont' know that I would ever get to go back to WDW again... :( And I am not sure that the camper we want to get would work so well at WDW, because it doesn't have a bathroom or shower... To be honest - I don't think we will be getting a camper for several years... I am too picky, and Josh won't spend the type of $$ that the camper I want costs (can't blame him - I won't spend it either)... So we are keeping our eyes open for a used one. ::yes::

My only date today is with my couch (and whichever family members choose to join me there) as I prepare to get snowed in!

Oh no... I hope you are safe and staying warm.

Oh, and I must thank you again for the planner idea. I am close to done with the surprise one for our cruise (pics are on my PTR). I am going to change a few of them, but I am so excited because I think it will be fun way to surprise them all!

I went and checked it out - it turned out awesome! What a great idea!

I'm so glad Rutie is getting the help she need. She will still be in my thoughts.
Have fun on your date this weekend.

Thanks!

I will be packing this weekend. I starts the journey to the USA and Walt Disney World on Monday morningI'm not sure how much I will be able to follow you the next month while I'm away.

Yay!!! You are down to 2 days now! Whoot!!! So excited for you!

D I am glad you found out that it is your gallbladder causing you pain. I remember having one attack and I thought I was dying it was the most horrid pain imaginable.

Yah - there are times where I think the pain is beyond what I can handle... I'd put it right up there with giving birth with out meds.... Which I had to do with V.

I had mine out at 26 and was one of the best things I did. I personally did not have the easiest recovery as some but it was not horrid. I was back to being myself in 4 weeks which wasn't too bad.

Wow! That seems pretty young to have to have it out. The Dr. I saw the other day was telling me how it's most common in women who have given birth and close to 40. But to be honest, I know I had my first attacks well over 10 years ago... I was actually seen for both of them in the ER before we moved, and I don't remember having a diagnosis given to me at that time - for that matter, I remember being in so much pain and it took them HOURS to even see me. But - yah - I would have been right around 25-26 y/o at that time....

I am so glad to now have a GAC holder for our next trip.

Yay!!! It went out yesterday. :)

Good for you, going despite your fear! Sending best wishes that all goes well at the doctor's next week!
By the way, I just credited you with much glory in my pre-trip with a bag my daughter and I made.

Thanks! I will have to come check out your PTR... I need to pay better attention to everyone's siggy lines - I am really bad about that.

so happy everything is working out for Ruthie in getting help with her animals!

I'm sure V teeth do feel weird, I remember when I got mine off, felt like they were floating!

have fun looking at RV's and time with Josh!

Thanks Lisa! Yah - I think V is getting used to it... The othodontist sent her home with a big bag of bubble gum and candy that she couldn't have while she had her braces on... Little did he know that it was all stuff we never really allow our girls to have anyways - still. Sugar really affects them and makes them crazy - I would have thought that they'd grow out of it by now, nope. LOL Oh well... I came home from work the other day - and V had 10 pieces of bubble gum in her mouth at once.

That does sound like fun!!! You'll have to tell us all about it!

Terkina, have fun packing and I hope you have a save and wonderful trip! Have a Mickey Bar for all of us while you're there!

I agree... but I would appreciate a: Dole whip (vanilla soft serve and pineapple juice variety), Cream Cheese pretzel, Jalepeno pretzel & and Napoleon... Please. popcorn::

So absolutely happy about the help coming for RuthIE!!! Will continue to pray for quick recovery and less pain! Isn't it funny how much you can care about someone whom you've never met? I think that must make God smile.

Have a great weekend!

So happy too - the Dis is such a wonderful place. :wizard:

I hope you have a great weekend as well!

D.......I am so sorry, I am such a horrible friend! I had no idea all this stuff was going on. I pay close attention to you on FB, but I have been seriously neglecting the DIS because I am just so upset about not being able to take our trip this year. Bad DISfriend.....Bad Suzi

Puleeze... I knew you and Bradey were on vacation & you had just started your new job - it really wasn't that big of a deal...

Besides - I totally understand how hard it is to be here with out an official trip in the works... No worries...

I had to go way back to page 125 to find where I left off...between my new job (less time during the day on the computer), no trip on the horizon, and a really really slow computer at home...I have just been out of the loop. I promise I will do better!

It's really OK - I promise. Don't feel bad for a moment. :lovestruc

So....

I absolutely love the cut chenille quilt. As a mom of a little boy I can say that the fabric choice is just perfect! It is so hard to find things that aren't too "babyish" and this is just wonderful. It looks so soft and cozy!

Yay!!! I love that fabric and I am so happy that you love it - I hope Myrthe & Brian do too! I literally bought up all of it that I could. I have so many plans to make the little guy some really cute things! I really need to stop though.

Love the "doggie print pants" too....again, great fabric choice!

Thanks! I hope she loves them too... I just found out that she prefers primary colors vs/ pastels... I did order one bunch of fabric that is sort of pastely - so hopefully she will like what I make from that???? I was only planning on one little outfit from it... :faint:

Those little girl outfits you posted from a while back.....OMG! As if I didn't think you were talented enough! Holy cow....you make me wish I had a girl so I could commission you to make me some. I second Mo's comment....Does that come in an XL??

Won't you all be exctied when I make you your VERY OWN SET of ruffle butt bloomers to wear with an open back shirt to wear at the MOA when you come. :stir:

RuthIE ---- So glad to hear she is finally getting some help. The world is full of wonderful people and too often we only hear about the bad stuff. I know, her injury is bad...but that so many people on here are willing to help and put her in their prayers....just love the DIS! I wish I had known about it last week when we were in Cape Coral, I would've been up there in a heartbeat to help. **Feel better soon Ruthie!!! **

I know - I am so relieved for her too!

So sorry about the whole Alli fiasco It just sucks all around. I'm sure you are sick of talking about it...just know I hope that girl gets what she deserves!

I agree - that is kind of where I am at with it too... Karma will bite that girl in the back side eventually...

The sweet treats GAC pouch is beautiful. Love that fabric!

Thanks! I love it too - and I was very excited to be able to get a little bit of it.

Thanks for the recommendation, even if it wasn't to me

Glad you are liking it... It's not the most wonderful book out there - but I thought it was quite good. It does jump around a lot, but it does all come together in the end. I just LOVE historical fiction!

The RV show was interesting, that's for sure. I will tell you all about it below... I did not know that you grew up owning a camp ground - that is sooo cool. I have many memories of growing up camping with my extended family... I miss that a lot!

Again...I am so sorry I have missed so much and I hope you can forgive me. I promise to be better. You are such a wonderful person and always so caring about other people on here...I just feel so horrible about missing your recent troubles. Next time, you need to give me a nudge on FB "Suzi...where the heck are you??" or something

No forgiveness necessary - I promise. I totally understand that everyone has a life.

Duplicate post ... I really need a new computer!

::yes::

This is funny because I work for the County Planning Commission as a land use planner! I also serve on the borough PC - and have for 21 years. sigh. I've been chair since 1996.

This is good to know. I have actually been sitting on our PC for 6 years now, I was on it for a year before I was elected to CC. Mostly I have the seat because of default - no one on CC wants the extra job of PC... Which is fine - I don't mind doing it, but we just finished updating our comprehensive plan last year, do now we are digging into our bi-laws and eventually our continuity book... With such a small town, we've never had these things previously, nor did we know we needed them - so we are having to construct these items from scratch. It's been such a frustrating year for us, but we all finally feel like we are making some good head way, and that we are leaving the town better prepared to handle difficult situations in the future.

Awesome!!! We have lots of camp grounds near us too... I miss camping from when I was young - lots of good memories there.

Luckily it doesn't look like we are going to get much snow - we are just on the edge of the white stuff.

Congratulations on the free dinner - sounds like lots of good fun!

Enjoy your date night!

It was lots of fun - interesting... I will update below.

Hey D, I have to catch up later, but can you point me in the right direction of that sparkly fabric I love so much. pretty please! I just got a fabulous idea for it

Thanks!
Erin

I think you are talking about Fairy Frost??? I am not sure? You can buy it at Fabric.com.

Just want to say that I am still so happy that Ruthie has help for her animals.

**********************************************************

Then I also want to say... For those of you in the NE U.S. - Please stay safe and warm.

**********************************************************

Yesterday was such a fun day for me!

First of all - I was able to get up to my sewing room early, so I was able to get all the last of my prep work done. I plan to get back up there this morning to finish final assembly.

Then, yesterday afternoon, I drove up to Josh's work and we rode the lightrail together into Minneapolis for the RV show. Once we got off the lightrail - we had to walk about 11 blocks to the convention center - we could have rode the bus, but Josh is lucky to get me on the Lightrail, I don't think he would ever get me on a city bus. I prefer to walk...

There was only one teardrop camper at the RV show... But I was glad to see it, so I could really see the size of them. They are small, yes, and (WOW) expensive for what you get... They run between $10k-$20k depending on options.

Josh put that into perspective for me when we walked up to a 16' hard side camper that was $10k... WOW... So, we could get a teeny tiny bed with an outdoor kitchen - no bathroom for (average) $14k, or we could get an actual camper with an indoor bathroom, bed, kitchen and table/booth... Hmmm...

You would think that this would be a no brainer right? Um - no.

After walking through hundreds of little campers... The only one that really appealed to me and had exactly what I wanted was the little Airstream Sport - if you know anything about campers - the Airstreams are still condsidered "the best" and they are not cheap... Only $38k for the baby one. Cough, cough. Nope, not doin' that.

If you wanna see: http://www.airstream.com/travel-trailers/sport/photos-decor/

All of the other campers we looked at... I just can't wrap my mind around how "cheaply" they are built. I realize they do this for weight... but man - they are CHEAP!

Then we run into the "we would have to tow it with the truck, because the Jeep couldn't tow it"... Which totally eliminates the real reason we wanted to do this in the first place...

Our original vision is to take the Jeep out - top down - and enjoy the drive... Maybe pull a little camper behind it. If we got a big camper - this would totally make the original vision worthless.

So, then we are back to the tear drop... It's everything we want in one little package... It allows us to cook outside and be part of the action... but it allows us to sleep indoors and allows us to pull it behind the Jeep - which was our original intent.

Here is the one we got to see in person yesterday... It is made right here in MN: http://vistabule.com/?page_id=129

Then there is this one too... Which is more of what we want - but also the more expensive of the two: http://tinycamper.com/teardrop550ultra.htm We were a bit disappointed that this company wasn't there to see in person. These are built in Wisconsin... Josh and I have decided to take a day this summer and go for a drive to see if this is something we want to get someday.

Or we could just build one ourselves... but knowing us - by the time we put all of our hard work and effort into it (if we even managed to finish it in the first place) - we'd spend far more than having someone else build it for us in the first place.

This is just our dream... Like our vacations... this is something I would insist on paying cash for - so we'd be saving for a VERY LONG TIME.

But this is what really makes this sort of camping appeal to me...

OK - I am done talking about campers now.

This afternoon, I am headed over to one of my neighbor's - we are doing an Anne of Green Gables movie marathon - super excited... Next to The Parent Trap and Pollyanna... AoGG is at the top of my list for favorite movies.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! And for those of you in the path of Nemo - please stay safe and warm.

D~

I can relate to V...when I got my braces off I ate a whole bunch of caramels :rotfl2: and made myself sick
