~ Aug 2013~ Sew what... We've gotta find a way back! Part I!!

Pride and Prejudice is one that is on my bucket list to see - I have not seen it yet...

Well if you still haven't seen it by May, let me know....I have the A&E version as well as Ms Knightly's version. I'm kinda a P&P freak....I've read the book countless times and love watching all versions of the movie. I can bring it with me in case we have a rainy night at the hotel.

I also want to start watching Downtown Abbey, because I think that would be right up my alley too, but I would need to buy the DVDs, because by the time I knew it existed, it's was completely through the second season.

Have this downloaded to my Kindle Fire too. Totally addicted to Downton.

This is going to be a riot!

Yep, I think the outfit will go nicely with the paper bag mask I will be wearing so Mo can't get my picture ::yes::

We had a couple of "vintage" campers before we bought the Roo. The first was a Cox camper which was a pop up with 2 beds and a table & benches. No bathroom, no kitchen, but it was light weight and easy to move around. Then we bought an older Shasta that we tried to restore but it took way more work than we could handle so we decided to buy a new one. I love my Roo but we do spend more time outside than inside when we camp. DH likes to play with the campfire :firefight.

Congrats on the new machine. I need to bring mine in for service. Maybe this week my dad or DH could help me.

D good luck with your sewing today.

Thanks Chiara! :thumbsup2

Did they do a CT scan or sonogram? If food is affecting you, maybe schedule a visit with a gastro if it turns out to not be your gallbladder. And I do hope you figure it out soon so you can have your Chipotle!

Actually - I go in for an ultrasound this morning... Fasting as I type... Sigh - I could really use some coffee!

Thanks. I'm back to panic mode this morning. I go back and forth - yesterday I remembered over the summer I slipped going up the stairs (I fall upstairs, never down :confused3) and smashed my toe badly. So then I was hoping that maybe this was a residual effect of that and felt optimistic. Today not so much. I go tomorrow at 11:40, and then hopefully we will have results by next week.

I'll be thinking of you today - please keep us updated.

Good idea to look for a used one! My aunt and uncle retired this past year, sold their house and bought a townhouse and an RV. They planned to drive from the Cape down to Florida and explore as much of the west coast of FL as they could in a certain amount of time, and then fly home (and store it there - I guess they have places for things like that). Then they would fly back several months later and continue on and go about their traveling that way. About two weeks into their trip I noticed his FB status said something about skiiing in Maine. I commented that I thought that was in the wrong direction - turns out their RV broke down in South Carolina so they left it to be fixed, and flew to ME to go skiing instead

LOL Sounds totally logical to me.

Wow...so many camper decisions! Is there any place you can rent one and try it out to see if it is something you really want to invest in?

We probably could... I didn't think of that.

I hope things went well with your BFF's DD and the girls! And IKWYM about the dinner thing - when we get in late from hockey practice, everyone else is just sitting here. Dinner is made (in the crockpot or just needs to be heated quickly), but you'd think the table would at least be set so we could get to eating right away. :confused3 Although, in her defense, Clara will cook wonderful meals on weekends and days off, but not so much during the week.

My BFF never did make it over... The roads and weather got too bad.

Yah - I have issues during the week too... Or any time for that matter... My family always teases me that I am best at boiling - which is soooo NOT true. LOL :confused3

Ok, that's it, I'm going to the attic and taking a look at that sewing machine today! Wish me luck :lmao:

So, how'd it go????

 Just think you could go camping at Fort Wilderness if you ever buy a camper.

I am not the camping type. The house in Maine is the most "roughing it" that I can get.

LOL I don't know if I could ever get Josh back to Disney - but yes, maybe FW is the answer?

I love perfect lazy days at home with the family. Sometimes those are so much better than any planned event or outing.

My extended family has started doing a family game night the last Sunday of every month. We eat dinner and then play games and its so much fun. Everyone comes in sweats, relaxes and enjoys the company. I can't wait until our next one.

That sounds like so much fun... We do lots of family game nights, but I am sorry to say that almost all of them involve the Wii - since I hate cleaning up game pieces.

Sounds like a plan!

You'll have to provide that... seeing as I will barely have time to redraft a pattern for your outfit. :confused3

That's what I really want is a vintage Shasta... Aaaaah - that's my dream... But I am afraid it will be too much work. I was hoping to maybe find one that's mostly restored... :wizard:

**********************************************************

I had an amazing day in my sewing room yesterday! I managed to totally cut out my bag and finish the appliques too. Since this is a messenger - it isn't quilted. Thankfully it makes me week easier, as I have so much going on this week - I was worried that I wouldn't be able to fit it all in.

I also got my grocery list done and my coupons sorted... I hope to get a few good deals when I go grocery shopping on Friday.

Today is my ultrasound... I am currently in fasting mode, and my lack-of-caffeine headache is killing me. I think I plan to detour into Carabou when I finish at the Dr.

Then this afternoon, I have a hair appointment - I am in desperate need.

I hope you all have an amazing day.

D~

don't know if you will see this before your doctor appts but I will be thinking of
you both & sending prayers your way for calm nerves & wonderful test results
:thumbsup2

Good luck with your sonogram today.

I have my big one on Thursday and I am super excited but mine is for a much more fun reason than yours.

Good luck with your ultrasound. I so emphisize with you with the fasting. I remember fasting for my ultrasound (which eventually found the gallstones in my gall bladder). I made the mistake of making my appointment for the Monday after Easter. Which meant me fasting all Easter Sunday.

Went over to my parents that Easter as normal. While they had ham with all the trimmings, candy and cake (because it was my nephew's birthday), I was stuck with clear water, broth and Jello. To make matters worst, the birthday boy looked at my meal and asked: "How come Aunt Kathy gets Jello?"

Happy 6th birthday, Tony. Do you want to see 7? :mic:

Of course that was 20 years ago. Technology changed a lot since then.

Regarding your new camper. I'd spend some time over on the Camping Board. They'll give you a lot of advice. DH and I were looking at campers about 20 years ago. However, we had no place to store it, and our community had very strict regulations on where we can store large items. Had to sell a boat because of that. As a result, we ended up buying a timeshare.

Love the timeshare, but still wonder what if. As it is, we still tent camp at least once a year. Never seen any bears...yet.

I just wanted to let you all know that I am back from my ultra sound... I survived. I had a male US tech - so that was a bit weird - but he was a nice guy. He took over 100 photos of my abdominal area... I pray that his photos are able to resolve this mystery. He said I should have my results by Friday at the latest... I was kind of hoping to have them at my Dr's appt tomorrow... but oh well.

Christine... I am sending positive prayers and thoughts your way today.

Thank you all for your good wishes this morning - I really appreciate it. :)

A male ultrasound tech? That would be AWKWARD! Glad it went well, and I hope the results bring an easy treatment plan and a healthier, happier D~! :goodvibes

Hopefully they find something on the ultrasound and can figure this thing out. Did you get your coffee??

Glad to hear it went well. I hope they can get to the bottom of what is causing the pain! Is your appt. tomorrow with your GP or a specialist?

I also survived, and the doctor was very optimistic, so I am feeling good right now. Well, my toe is bandaged and I am in pain, but emotionally I am feeling good. He said he totally understood why my dermatologist wanted the biopsy because it does look suspicious, but once he started cutting into the nail bed, he felt fairly certain he was not seeing melatin (sp? - i may have that wrong - whatever it is that they see in melanoma). I have to wait for the pathology report, which should come in hopefully by the weekend, but by next Tuesday at the latest. So for now I feel relieved, with a 10% worry that it is still something to worry about. And a little bummed that a pedicure is no where in my near future (I'm one of those who ALWAYS has her toe nails painted).

The upside? I have a good excuse to lay on the couch and not do any household chores today :)

Thank you, for all your good thoughts and prayers!

Hey D~ glad your ultrasound went off without a hitch. Hope touch get the results soon.

Chiara - you must be getting so excited for Thursday :-)

Hopefully they find something on the ultrasound and can figure this thing out. Did you get your coffee??

Ditto, with the added fervent prayer that you did get get some caribou (which we don't have in my neck of the woods and I'm extremely jealous)

I had a similar sonogram for my side years ago. Nothing showed up, but my ribs ached for a while. She really dug the thing in.

Hurray for lazy days and Sewing.

glad everyone survived their tests & lets all be optimistic for good
results this is turning out to be a medical week I go to Ortho Thurs for x-rays we'll see
what happens Speaking of US male I had one for xrays day this happened it was abt 3:30 am so maybe no one else on duty ? I say that because I'm sure at some
point bare ta-tas were showing but at that time of pain who cares ? !
:lmao:

Met Mariannes husbands cousin & her husband (whew finally got the relationships straight)
and their Vet lovely lovely people plan is 2 or 3 teens once a week hopefully by the weekend if not the cousin & husband said they would come untill teens do

Liked the Vet very much found out she lives abt 1 mile from me ! She also runs a horse rescue I promised her someday when this behind me I will pay it forward & volunteer for her group looking forward to it

thanks for everything now I can relax,

RuthIE

Thanks Sandra... We have a truck too - it's just not fun like the Jeep is - ya know? So, theoretically we could tow a heavy trailer - we just don't want to. LOL

My parent's got their jeep after I graduated high school and I did like it better than the truck anytime I'd go home to visit!!

Glad your ultrasound went well!! Having a male isn't that weird. Out of all the ultrasounds I had to have while I was pregnant almost everyone of my big (bladder full of water) ultrasounds was done by a male. I didn't even think twice. Hope they are able to find out what's going on for you!!
