~ Aug 2013~ Sew what... We've gotta find a way back! Part I!!

FFA or 4H are good ideas for RuthIE. Also the state extension agency. I'll look it up and post the name and/or contact person. I have lots of horsey friends, just not in FL.:confused3

You can call me Terry. I put the Tess in there because I think I might have used that in one of my posts. I answer to both though, and also to "T", hon, sweetheart, mom, ma, mommy and grandma.:rotfl2:

What does GAC stand for?

Edit: The Polk County Extension office phone number is (863) 519-8677. They run the 4H program and should be able to put RuthIE in touch with someone in her area that will be able to help her out. Most farming communities are very willing help out when needed.

Wow! Can't believe all the that's been going on while I was out celebrating my son's 6th birthday and then my poor Niner's loss to the Raven's. Oh well there's always next year!!! :lmao:

Poor Alli!! I really hope that something good comes out of this both for Allie being in control of the situation and that the girl who took it learns her lesson and hopefully doesn't do it again.

Love the auction items!!! Really love the pink ice cream one!

The blanket and romper turned out adorable!!! One spoiled baby already!!

Just a quick word of love for the GAC holders and the romper! All are wonderful. I just love the MK GAC!!! It's so unique.

Hope to read an update soon on the continuing saga of Ali's missing jacket. Hope they get it all sorted out and the person responsible will be held accountable somehow.

Since we're letting people know what names we respond to, I will answer anyone who calls me Your Royal Highness, Princess, or Your Majesty!:lmao::lmao:

Good for Alli for going forward with contacting the Police!

I wish I lived closer to RuthIE. I have a whole group of animal people here in GA that would spring into action to help her. Unfortunately I don't have any resources in FL. I hope she is able to find the help she needs.

The baby romper is very cute and I love both of the GAC pouches. I hope they do well in the auction tomorrow.

Thanks Ariana!

I know, I wish I lived closer to RuthIE too.

Will do an Alli update below.

Cover alls ( rompers) were my favorite thing to dress my baby boys in!! Boy that has been a long time! The ones you made are adorable! That is a very lucky baby!
I sure hope you get some answers on Ally's coat?? Some kids really need a wake up call! Earlier rather than later.

RuthIE is still in a lot of pain! I too hope she gets some answers and help today. She has a beautiful horse that needs some care she can't give her right now.

Your launch items are wonderful!! Everyone have a great day! Ruth

Thanks Ruth... I will do an Alli update below.

I know, I need to text RuthIE later today to see how she is doing. I was going to do it yesterday, but then I got distracted.

Love the cute romper! You will be the BEST AUNT EVER!!! Okay, I am out of some kind of loop or something. I cannot figure out what the red S is on the MK GAC pouch... :confused3

Awww... THanks Oopsi! I miss ya so much!

The logo on the GAC Pouch is for the "Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom" Game in MK. ;)

The new interactive game at Magic Kingdom...Sorcerers of Magic Kingdom (I think that is the name..)

Nini

Yup! Thanks Nini!

for a DIS Meet at the Disney Store. :goodvibes

Great deal at the store on the tank tops.

Love the GAC gag with the ice cream cone...absolutely adorable.

I think you and Alli are doing the right thing by going to the police. That young lady needs to be taught a lesson.

Thanks Kathy. :) I agree. I will be doing an Alli update below.

Hi...just read through the last 10 pages. I have been clicking on your PTR and it would always show just one page. So I thought that was as far as you had goten...only today did I realize that I had to click on the right side of the screen for the thread.... My daughter would be :lmao: because she laughs when I can't figure out something on the computer.

Anyway, now I can really keep up with your planned trip. LOVE the clothes and blanket for your nephew.

Sheila

Hi Sheila!!! Welcome! I am so glad that you found the end of my PTR. :thumbsup2

If the pants are too big for the baby it just means that the baby can use them longer while it grows :)

I LOVE the MK GAC Pouch set. I just love EVERYTHING about it.

Thank you! Very true - and I agree... He will always grow into them. :thumbsup2

D can u point me in the direction of the pink Mickey fabric you used? Looks perfect for vs treat dress that I have planned for our trip.

I actually purchased the last little bit that someone had from their project.

Fingers crossed for Alli

Thanks Lillian - I will do an Alli update below.

I hope that the girl & her parents will know that it was Alli's decision. Peer "review" is better than "person of authority" at that age.

And I am in AWE of that MK applique. One day, I will do an applique that awesome. And free-hand embroidery like that.

The great thing about babies is, they are always growing. So he may not be able to fit in them his first couple of months, but there'll be months after that!

Side note for/about RuthIE - does her county have a 4-H association? or an FFA? They might have a program for some of their kids to help her out - especially with the horse. -I know I'm a little late for that party.

Thanks Ruth! I will do an Alli update below.

That's what I was thinking for RuthIE too, but she says she has tried there... However Terry (below) did post the number for another group! I sure hope that works out for RuthIE.

hope that the coat issue will be taken care of!

the romper and GAC holders are cute...love the fabrics!

I hope so too Lisa. THank you. I will be doing an Alli update below.

Thank you so much Terry! I hope that this number you posted will be useful to RuthIE - thank you for taking the time to look it up! :lovestruc

GAC stands for Guest Assistance Card... Is the card that people can get at Disney if they have a disability that prevents them from standing in line (someone correct me if I am wrong...)

Wow! Can't believe all the that's been going on while I was out celebrating my son's 6th birthday and then my poor Niner's loss to the Raven's. Oh well there's always next year!!! :lmao:

Happy birthday to your DS Sandra! :)

Thanks for the compliments and I will be doing an Alli update below.

Thanks "Your Royal Highness"... Can we call you "YRH" for short? ROFL!

**********************************************************

I do not have a RuthIE update... I knew that yesterday was the first day that her Workman's Comp worker was in the office - and I didn't want to bother her while she was dealing with the issues that she needed to - and hopefully able to get a few things resolved. I will text her later today to see how she is doing.

**********************************************************

Alli's coat update... It's going to be long - I apologize in advance.

Right away yesterday morning, I called the police dept. non-emergency line. I spoke with an officer and told him what was going on. After telling the entire story in detail, he asked if the police liason officer was present during any of Alli's meetings with the principal... I relayed that I believed the liason officer was involved. The officer told me, that if the liason officer was involved, then the city police are already involved, because the liason officer is an employee of the police dept and not a school employee (like I had previously thought). So, the officer asked that I continue to work with the liason officer - gave me his #, and informed me that he was out of the office yesterday. I plan to try to give him a call today.

Yesterday, sometime later in the morning, I received a text from Alli... She told me that she had just left the principal's office, where she had to recount her story to all 3 principals. She suspected, at that time, there was something going on.

A short time later, she sent me a text that her bff had just seen the suspected girl being escorted back to class by the liason officer - muttering something to the officer along the lines of "I am so angry that someone had to turn me in..." ??? I am quite sure that her words were much differnent than that - but she had no idea who the girl was who'd seen her escorted back to class - or that Alli's bff knew why.

At lunch - Alli's bff pointed out the girl to Alli... Up until then, Alli had no idea who she was. She had pointed her out on the camera, but she didn't recognize her.

Alli discreetly asked a close friend if she knew who the girl is - and the friend told her the girl's name and that she had a baby in 7th grade! :faint:  If this is true... Then I suspect that her parents could care less that their daughter stole someone's jacket.

The girl also doesn't hang around with the nicest people... Alli's exact words to me last night were "Mom, she's the kind of girl who goes to the mall with her friends and you know the are going to cause trouble." Sigh.

So, now I am worried about Alli's safety. I am concerned that this girl will go after Alli for turning her in. :(

I emailed the principal after Alli came home, and she told me all of this. Alli is not supposed to know who the girl is - so I did not tell the princpal that we know her name and her (rumored) situation.

The principal gave me an update that as of yesterday, they had searched lockers and cars - with nothing turning up. He told me that next on their list was to look further into the security tapes on the day in question to see if they can find any more information...

I am not sure what is going to happen from here. I plan to call the liason officer in a little while, to hopefully get an update.

At this point - I am worried about Alli's safety. There are a few people at school that know the jacket is her's. Namely the girls who initially helped her look for her boots in the locker room that day... and Alli told me that she thinks they are telling everyone about it.

It's really sad, that the way things are, someone who did NOTHING wrong has to worry so much about retribution. I really hate that kids these days have NO respect for anything... belongings... people in general... It's so sad.

I do plan to talk this over with the liason officer... I also want to know what their plan is to protect Alli.

So, that's the only update I have as of right now. At this point, I am satisfied that they school and the police department are doing everything they can to help us find the jacket. I am not sure how much they are going to continue to do - as it has been a week now (tomorrow) and they are going to move on, I am sure.

The principal told me yesterday to just let things run their course... He said in his experience, once the person of interest thinks that everyone's forgotten, 9 times out of 10, they will wear the item to school, and then the school will "take care of it"... He said this has happened in every instance in the last 2 years that he has had to deal with something like this. He also said, that each time, the original owner was able to get their item back. At this point - I am not sure if I want Alli to have it back, because then the girl will know for sure it was Alli's coat. :faint:

This has just turned into a stupid mess.

**********************************************************

I was busy in my sewing room all day yesterday...

I managed to cut out and completely quilt my next custom bag order. I plan to work on (and hopefully finish) my applique today.

Tomorrow is V's big day... She has her appointment to get her braces off... She has been wearing her rubberbands religiously for the last month - and I have no doubt that she will have adjusted her bite enough to get them off. ::yes:: She is very excited this time - and I am glad that I stuck with my gut to keep them on.

I hope you all have a wonderful day! :wizard:

D~

Thanks for the update about Ali's situation. I'm glad it was long so we get the whole picture. I'm also glad you will be talking to the liaison later today about your concerns for Ali's safety. It's so hard to predict what someone like that girl might do. Hopefully she's more of a sneaky coward than a harmful person. Is she the same one who took her boots? If so, what punishment is she getting for that? I agree: What a mess!!

So glad V is getting her braces off and that she's been good about the rubber bands. Can't wait to see a picture of that great metal-free smile. She has such a beautiful smile anyway.

Sounds like you got a lot done yesterday. I was hoping to get some things sewn, but so far haven't gotten down there. I'm changing the entire way I eat and have been doing research and finding recipes and it's such a huge undertaking!! So that's been taking up a lot of my sewing time. i'm trying to not become overwhelmed and discouraged. I've been cooking since my Mom went to work when I was in the 5th grade and it's hard to break old ingrained habits. But I'll get there. Have a great day!!

good the hear the school is handling the situation! sounds like the girl is a piece of work! hope everything will work out in the end and Alli doesn't have to deal with any issues from the girl too!

excited for V to get her braces off! always a great day! make sure to have some soft foods around, her teeth will feel wonky for a few days!

Hoping and praying that Ally is kept safe! She certainly did nothing wrong and should in no way be punished ! High school is a strange community. Her friends will stand by her! Enjoy your day!

Thanks for the update on Allie's jacket. I had been wondering what had happened. :headache:

I can't believe I forgot to post these here!

I just love how the applique placement turned out!

My son loves this game.... can't wait for tonight's launch :goodvibes

Sorry to hear that the jacket saga continues. I am glad that the police are involved and I hope the other girl figures out that she better quit while she is ahead. At the very least she knows that it is a police matter and not just the school. I hope Alli can feel as sense of security. There should not be this much drama at a school.

Glad to hear V will be getting her braces off. :thumbsup2

I hope Alli can be kept safe and that this jacket incident can be over soon. I can imagine V is very happy to get her braces off. I had braces when I was a teenager and I can remember that it was so great to get them off.

I just wanted to do a quick update...

Alli just texted me, she just finished meeting up with the 2 principals and one other person (not sure who, need to look it up) and she thinks they may have found some info...

Please keep your fingers crossed for her... This really isn't about her jacket any more (although that would be nice) - it's more about her feeling like she has some control.

Thank you everyone. :)

D~

Anyone ask the LUNCH LADY?!?!
Umm Since the school puts a lot of responsibility on the lunch lady you should have asked her!!!
Seriously that is a lot of BS.

First-prayers for Ruthie. I can't imagine the pain she's in. Hope she's found some help.

Work has been so stressful for me the past couple of weeks.

You've been very prolific.

Excellent execution on the Daisy bag but honestly she's not one of my favorite characters. She's not always nice to our man Donald.;)

I loved Tigger! Especially his tail on the wallet. Loved Eeyore-especially his tail! Great job on the Meg bag-loved the Hades zipper pull. Loved the Mickey bag-great fabric. Loved all of the GAC sets. The Sorcerer of the MK one is awesome. Emma & I played a bit last May. I played a lot in November and was able to complete a set of the 60 cards. Emma can't wait to play again. I was thinking of making her some sort of bag for the cards.

Love the baby pants. What cute fabric. Love everything about the quilt. I had never seen that technique til you posted the tutorial. Your SIL & nephew are sure to love it! I love the look of the striped fabric. How many layers did you cut? Was there 2 layers of stripes and one white? I already know I hate binding so I'm not sure it is a project for me but I love the result so much. I am working on a rag quilt now. Almost all sewn but clipping the seams will take hours.

V's lanyards are great! How great that she's earning $$$ for CRT. I'm sure she'll be very happy to get her braces off tomorrow.

Yikes about the mess at school for Alli. I don't get why the principal who got Alli's boots didn't hang around to see who took them then they could have settled it all right away. Crazy. Hope Alli gets her jacket back, stays safe and that the girl learns a lesson.

Oh...I think you're really smart not to get all crazed about fast pass plus without knowing all the facts. Funny how insane some folks are being over the few snippets of info that's been released.

And belated birthday wishes for your handsome mr Max!:bday:

So sorry Ali has to go through all this. Hope she can get her coat back soon and that this all settles down. I would be so stressed over this kinda stuff.

Exciting that V has worn her rubberbands and that hopefully the braces will be off very soon!!!

And once again, I want to say that I love the SOTMK GAC!!! Blue is my favorite color and I keep eye balling that fabric trying to figure out what to make with it, but I have resisted so far.

And I finally posted my dress over in the Disbou board, as I finally caught up over there.

I am also keeping Ruthie in my prayers, I hope she can find some help soon.

Look forward to seeing your next bag!!!!

Thanks Lois... I tried to call the liason officer yesterday - I left him a message, but he never called me back. :confused3 I will try again this morning.

So glad V is getting her braces off and that she's been good about the rubber bands. Can't wait to see a picture of that great metal-free smile. She has such a beautiful smile anyway.

Awww... Thanks! I can't wait to see her smile either... :goodvibes

I know what you mean, eating healthier is sometimes a challenge. We have been trying to eat better as a family for about the last year... We have cut out most of the prepackaged foods, which is hard, because everything is soooo full of crap. Not that eating healthier has made me any skinnier... :rolleyes1 that is a whole different topic all on it's own. popcorn:: However, I will say that I feel so much better - so that's a bonus. Good luck to you - please keep me updated.

good the hear the school is handling the situation! sounds like the girl is a piece of work! hope everything will work out in the end and Alli doesn't have to deal with any issues from the girl too!

excited for V to get her braces off! always a great day! make sure to have some soft foods around, her teeth will feel wonky for a few days!

Thanks Lisa... Yes, she does sound like a piece of work. I hope Alli doesn't have to deal with anything either.

I am very excited for V too... Alli is in the bathroom as I type, curling V's hair for the event. :3dglasses

Hoping and praying that Ally is kept safe! She certainly did nothing wrong and should in no way be punished ! High school is a strange community. Her friends will stand by her! Enjoy your day!

Thanks Ruth! I agree... I hope her friends stand by her.

How are you doing? I've been thinking a lot about you.

Thanks for the update on Allie's jacket. I had been wondering what had happened.
My son loves this game.... can't wait for tonight's launch

Yah - the jacket saga continues... Sigh.

I know - it's always fun to participate in the launch! Congrats on selling your set so quickly - it was adorable!!! :cloud9:

Sorry to hear that the jacket saga continues. I am glad that the police are involved and I hope the other girl figures out that she better quit while she is ahead. At the very least she knows that it is a police matter and not just the school. I hope Alli can feel as sense of security. There should not be this much drama at a school.

Glad to hear V will be getting her braces off.

Thanks Liz. Yah - I wish the girl would come to her senses and put it in the lost and found or something. Then we'd get the jacket back and she'd be caught on tape. popcorn:: We can all dream, right.

Super excited for V!

I hope Alli can be kept safe and that this jacket incident can be over soon. I can imagine V is very happy to get her braces off. I had braces when I was a teenager and I can remember that it was so great to get them off.

Thanks Lillian... Personally, I am so sick of the jacket saga, I would love for it to be over.

V is really looking forward to getting her braces off... I am very excited for her as well - I am anxious to see her beautiful smile. :woohoo:

Anyone ask the LUNCH LADY?!?!
Umm Since the school puts a lot of responsibility on the lunch lady you should have asked her!!!
Seriously that is a lot of BS.

ROFL!!!! OMG!!! How could I have forgotten??? I should have turned this issue over to the LUNCH LADY right away.... This would have been resolved LONG ago. :teacher:

Hi Mo!!! I miss ya!!!

First-prayers for Ruthie. I can't imagine the pain she's in. Hope she's found some help.

Thanks Bernadette! I do have a good Ruthie update to do below.

Work has been so stressful for me the past couple of weeks.

I am sorry... I hope it gets better for you soon. I was just thinking of you the other day when I was looking at Ruf's silhouette.

You've been very prolific.

Excellent execution on the Daisy bag but honestly she's not one of my favorite characters. She's not always nice to our man Donald.

I know... However, SHE loved my Donald bag more than Donald did - so.... :confused3 I do have a bit of a soft spot for her.

Awww... Thanks! :thumbsup2 We have not had a chance to play it yet - there is just too little time when we go to the MK... Maybe some day.

Well, the top layer was white... Then the second layer was this:

productimage-picture-f2834-blue-4327.jpg

Then under that was this:

productimage-picture-f2833-yellow-4326.jpg

Unfortunately - the yellow was kind of expensive, and you really can't see it at all. :headache: I wish I would have just cut the blue and white and left the yellow intact, then I think it would have made the quilt a bit less flimsy (not that it's flimsy... but I don't know how else to say it) - and you'd probably see it better too. :confused3 If I ever make another quilt like that - I think I will try it that way.

V's lanyards are great! How great that she's earning $$$ for CRT. I'm sure she'll be very happy to get her braces off tomorrow.

Thanks! Hopefully she will continue with them. :confused3 I haven't been able to get her back up there since she made the last ones. :headache:

We are all excited to see her with out her braces.

Yikes about the mess at school for Alli. I don't get why the principal who got Alli's boots didn't hang around to see who took them then they could have settled it all right away. Crazy. Hope Alli gets her jacket back, stays safe and that the girl learns a lesson.

You'd think - right? Alli said that she had to leave that day and she was rushed to get out of school. :confused3

Oh...I think you're really smart not to get all crazed about fast pass plus without knowing all the facts. Funny how insane some folks are being over the few snippets of info that's been released.

I agree!

And belated birthday wishes for your handsome mr Max!

Awww... THanks!

So sorry Ali has to go through all this. Hope she can get her coat back soon and that this all settles down. I would be so stressed over this kinda stuff.

I know - it is really stressful!

Exciting that V has worn her rubberbands and that hopefully the braces will be off very soon!!!

We are hoping that today is the day!

And once again, I want to say that I love the SOTMK GAC!!! Blue is my favorite color and I keep eye balling that fabric trying to figure out what to make with it, but I have resisted so far.

Thanks! I really think it turned out cute - but so far, no bids on it. :confused3

And I finally posted my dress over in the Disbou board, as I finally caught up over there.

Cool! I'm headed there next!

I am also keeping Ruthie in my prayers, I hope she can find some help soon.

Look forward to seeing your next bag!!!!

Thank you - I know RuthIE appreciates it.

**********************************************************

Allison's jacket update: Not much to update... I called the school liason officer yesterday and left him a message to call me back - which he did not do. :confused3 I will try again this morning.

**********************************************************

RuthIE update: It appears that we may have found someone to help her out. Most of you know Marianne... She put out an SOS to her cousin who lives near Ruthie... They contacted their vet, who is willing to go out to Ruthie's house to ***** the situation... They know of a high school group who can earn community service hours by helping her care for her animals. I've given them RuthIE's contact info, and hopefully she will hear something in the next day. :cloud9: So, please continue to keep her in your prayers... She continues to be in a lot of pain.

**********************************************************

Nothing else new or exciting here...

V is scheduled to get her braces off today. :woohoo:

I worked on my applique all day yesterday... I hope to finish it this afternoon.

I hope you all have a fantastic day today. :flower3:

D~

"She put out an SOS to her cousin who lives near Ruthie... They contacted their vet, who is willing to go out to Ruthie's house to ***** the situation... "

Love how the Dis decided that assess looked like a swear word or something! :rotfl2: So glad to hear that help is on the way for RuthIE! And what a great opportunity for the students that get to help!

V is going to have a GREAT DAY TODAY! Be sure to post pictures of her beautiful smile! ::yes::

Now that I understand the Sorcereres logo...love that pouch! I adore the deep rich blue fabric with the pop of the red! You are simply genius! :artist:

I finally did it...

Remember - over a year ago - I was sent to the ER because they *thought* I was having a heart attack??? When I left the ER, they decided that it was probably inflamation of my rib cage.

I have yet to make the follow-up appointment...

Dr.s scare me, they scare me a lot.

I am still suffering from this pain... It never happens at the same time, or for the same reason, but I have discovered a few things over the last year +...

First off - I think it is my stomach that is causing the pain, not my rib cage. Any time this comes on, my stomach makes this awful gargling sound, and if I don't take ibuprofen/aleve immediately, the longer I suffer. This pain goes from non-existant to a 10 on the pain scale in under 5 minutes.

My last episode was a week ago Saturday...

If you could keep me in your thoughts and prayers today - I would really apprecaite it. I just finally got the courage to make the call this morning, and thankfully they were able to get me in today, before I chickened out.

I am really nervous about this.

D~

I am happy to hear you were able to make an appointment and even better they were able to get you in today. I hope they can get some answers for you and some relief for the pain. I will be thinking of you and looking for an update later on.

Glad you are going to the doctor today. I hope they have an easy fix for your issues.

Glad that there is a resource for Ruthie, hope it works out.

Sorry to hear about your pain, good luck with the appt. My mom has been having rib pain lately as well. No stomach issues that I know of. She did get her gall bladder removed, but still has this pain that no one has figured out yet. Hope they can figure it out for you and you can make a quick recovery.

And I checked on your auction and did see a few bids, good thing you reposted it, because otherwise it might have gotten lost. Things over there are a mess. I avoid it lately. They are always changing privacy stuff and its starting to drive me crazy because I never understand the changes and I'm never sure what I should do. Anyway, hope the auctions go well. They are both awesome so they should do well once people see them!

Good luck and pixie dust all around for you today!!!!
