Aug 03 2008 Magic (West Coast)

Hi again! Needed to change font size for the goal!

Wow dleyel, sounds like you guys are in San Diego quite often. We're annual passholders at Disneyland and people keep wondering why we're always at DL. But we do love San Diego! That's why we moved here from the midwest given a chance to do so in 2004. The only place we don't have passes for is Legoland so we don't get to go there that often. But my kids do love it there so I might have to rethink things a little.

School starts August 26 for us, just before labor day.

Great tip about the mister! We'll have to bring ours. Got one at DL and my friend left one from Walmart at our house.:)

Just for the record, we still haven't started packing...:rolleyes1 Will get around to that in an hour or two. Might have to do some quick shopping as well. Hey, we got the important thing done - fingers and toes! :rotfl: So, we're really set for the cruise!

HeelMD, How's the weather there? I can still see the marine layer outside my window! I hope it clears up quickly.

IceSk8ersMom Have a fun party! :cheer2:

Wow, 5 people sure need a lot of stuff for a cruise! I'm probably half way done packing, but that might be wishful thinking. Still have some things in the laundry. The boys have haircuts at 1pm, then I'll stop by the dry cleaners. Then I think I'm done with errands. So can't believe we leave tomorrow!

Good luck packing everyone!

I was sitting in my room of the Doubletree trying to get the internet to work staring out the window at the marina... and the fog. Its a beautiful view, nice and peaceful. The view was amazing last night when we checked in at 1 a.m.! The fog lifted around noon and now it is simply beautiful.

Since I am on the internet now, I am hoping to get on later and start a live trip report thread before we board tomorrow so I have someplace to go to post.

My family is chomping at the bit to leave and explore San Pedro.

See everyone aboard!

Well, it is 8:00 P.M. and the Party is OVER! In one word it was fabulous.

My band was awesome, and the last song was Margaritaville. What a perfect ending.

My DH's toast left everybody in tears. It was very special.

The Highlights of the party:

1) DH's toast
2) Dancing with my dad
3) Seeing relatives that I have not seen in a long time
4) My parents dancing to "That's All"
5) Clayton's singing "That's All"
6) THE MARGARITAS!!!!!!

The party ended on time (6:00 P.M.) and it only took us 1.5 hours to clean up.

I am exhausted! I cannot believe after 9 months of planning the party is a wonderful family memory.

I appreciate everybody's efforts to get this thread to 50. 45 is not too bad.
I also appreciate everybody's well wishes for the party.

To all of you who are out of state visitors, WELCOME to CALIFORNIA!

IceSk8ersMom, I'm so glad the party was a success! Now you can relax since you are all done packing.

Unfortunately, I'm still not done. I cannot believe how much stuff the five of us have. It's a good thing my in-laws decided that they would drive their own car instead of coming in our minivan!

We are all so excited. I hope I get some sleep tonight.

Hope everyone has a wonderful cruise! Looking forward to meeting some of you at the meet on Monday!

IceSk8tersmom...glad your party was as wonderful as you planned on it being. Sometimes, with all the planning, they can be a let down once you get there.

We spent a pleasant day at the Taste in San Pedro in a park by the water. They had all these food booths and shops and information about the city set up. You bought tickets to purchase food like a street festival. It was really huge though, and I think there were booths representing all of the restaurants in town.

The Doubletree is a very nice hotel. It's a great perk that their shuttle will take you anywhere within a 5 mile radius for free. Its very nice to not have to deal with a rental car tomorrow. We are on the 9:30 shuttle over in the morning. We are getting so excited.

I'm about 1/3 finished on the packing. Behind on the homework, but I'll just have to work on it tomorrow (and Monday and the rest of the week..but I'd rather do it on the ship than here at home!!)

IceSk8ersMom...glad the party went well.

DL DCA Fans

Right you are, doing anything on a Disney Cruise Ship is better than doing it at home!

I have started a somewhat live trip report tonight. I am not sure how well I will do with it but I am determined to at least post highlights every day or every other day. We don't usually do much the sea days except laze around so I am not sure how exciting reading that will be.

See everyone on board.

Yeah IceSk8ersMom Congrats on the successful party!
I finally finished packing and am almost done with my fish extender. DB said never again.:rotfl2: It's 1:30am over here, we leave for the airport at 5am, at this point whats the point in going to sleep.:rotfl:

Congrats on a successful party, IceSk8ersMom. Keep that momentum going.:)

We're almost done with packing, only toiletries left to go.

I am getting very tired... Good night, folks! Here's to a wonderful day tomorrow! :dance3:

45 Pages !

O days left until our cruise! Please pinch me...I cannot believe it is TIME!

Okay, it is 5:42 A.M. I have about 15 more minutes of quiet before alarms start going off and organized chaos runs through my house.

I appreciate everybody's KODOS about the party. I just got off the phone with my mom, and she was so happy!

We will be the people in matching "40 Years of Magic" shirts. If you see us, please say HI. I cannot wait to meet all of you.

I need to sign off now...See you all real soon.

Pinch you?? I just got the coolest dose of reality...we just watched the Magic sail past our window coming into port for us!!! :cool1: It really was the most amazing sight to see the Magic come into sight slowly and sail across the horizon outside our window, especially knowing we would be on there in a few short hours! :cloud9:

Too bad we didn't meet our 50 page goal. Oh well, we will have a great time anyway.

See everyone onboard.

Ahhh, the joy of doing laundry at a hotel. Getting repacked and ready to go to port.

We are just finishing up packing. We'll be leaving no later than 11 a.m. Kind of foggy down here in Oceanside but I'm sure it will clear up and be an absolutely glorious day.
