Hi.

I need to download an app for audio books in my ds phone. This will be used from now through June.

Can anyone please let me know what may be the best app for what I need. He will need access to Shakesphere and the classics.

Thank you very much.

See if your local library offers Overdrive. It's a free service.

I think you're actually asking two questions here

1. You need access to the books he'll require (for School?)

and then

2. You need a way to play the downloaded books on his device

LibriVox has a fairly large selection of Public Domain Books (such as Shakespeare) available for Download for no cost that can be played on a computer or put on a device such as a phone.

https://librivox.org

You library Overdrive catalog is another source as already mentioned.

To play the books both of these services have their own Apps I believe, you should find them in the typical places you download apps from. (iTunes, Google Play etc).

I personally use the App Named "Bookmark" as I find it does a better job of keeping my place in the book, keeping the tracks in order and letting me .. well bookmark .. within the soundtrack.

Thank you all.

My ds has an iPhone 6.

I do not want to do in connection with the library since he is usually in school
by 7 am - 7:30 am and doesn't come home some days until 12 hours later.
Weekends are busy. I will, however, see if I can do the books online from the library without going there directly using our card but not so sure about that option since I don't want us to have to worry about renewing, etc.

I do not need to download school text books. I buy them in the beginning of the year. This app would be strictly for audio books.

I have a groupon that I downloaded this month for a free month of Audible.com, which was mentioned here too, thank you. I think I will take a look at that and have my ds download on his phone tonight.

Thank you all very much.

Many libraries use Overdrive, which is an app that allows you to check out digital books and audiobooks right from your phone. So you don't need to go there, and they automatically expire after three weeks (or whatever the item's lending period is).

Oh, wow. Thanks.
Going to look at that right now.

Audible.com itself is free. You are paying for(after free trial) a monthly membership that gets you one credit per month and discounts on other books. Definitely cancel the membership as it is not worth it for what you son needs.

Between the library (overdrive) and audible and the other suggestions I think your son is pretty well set for audio books for school
