Audible Must Listens?

That would be a great first audiobook to try.

It took me a while to warm up to the idea of listening to a book. I ran into an acquaintance a few years ago who had lost a lot of weight. She told me that listening to audiobooks and taking long walks is how she did it. She’d get so into a book, she’d keep walking so she could keep listening. That really intrigued me. Ever since I listened to my first one, I was hooked. I read regular books too, but I listen to books while I do my chores, and it’s much more enjoyable! I actually look forward to chores now!
I listen to my podcasts while walking and doing chores too, it definitely helps! I just went to Hoopla, an app on my phone connected with our branch libraries somehow. They had The Dutch House as a featured audio book, so I downloaded it and just started listening to it. Thank you :flower3:

I Love my Audible and I love that I can check audio books out of my library. Also check out Chirp for daily discounts on Audiobooks (Think $0.99 to $4.99 for a book instead of $19.95-$35.95 from Audible)

Thanks for all of these great suggestions! I love the idea of taking walks and listening.

That’s awesome! I hope you love it.

I am just getting on the Audible bandwagon. I still love the feel of an actual book in my hand, but am trying out some audiobooks. I just bought Matthew McConaughey's new memoir since he is the narrator 😍🥰🤩

Any books you recommend that you felt the experience was enhanced by listening versus reading?

I'm a reader. My father got me into books at an early age and i would read anything. As i got older
and with husband and kids i got away from it. The interruptions whenever i would sit down to read
along with the internet invention my patience was low.

My dad was disappointed to hear i wasn't reading much anymore so gifted me audible subscription
2 years ago. That was the best thing ever! Well actually the echo speakers throughout the house was
the best thing ever so i can listen to a book in each room. I actually have 3 kindles and never got into
them and in process of selling them. Audible makes the drudgery of housework...commuting
or working out go by faster.

Oops clicked enter by mistake. Anyway i now have about 200 books in my audible library. Lot were given
or i bought credits from ebay like 10 for 25 dollars. (before Ebay put a stop to that)
With all those books i listen to the same ones over and over.

1. Game Change. ( I don't like politics but love this book that is opposite of the movie.)
2. Harry Potter first two books .
3. Katherine of Aragon.
4. The Girl on the Train
5. The Help
6. Game of Throne books ( I never watched the series past season 1)
7. Unbroken ( stories about WW2)

These are books i would have never picked out in a million years in Physical version but i got Audible
version based on reviews and narrator sample and loved them.

*** one more important thing. A narrator can ruin a book for you. Making you never
want to hear it again. Please always listen to the sample.

Good Luck.

This is the truest statement you will ever see/hear/read about Audio books. ALWAYS listen to the sample - the whole 5 minutes if you can - if you're buying the book. I have a book series I LOVE reading but I CANNOT listen to it because the narrator annoys me so much. If you find them slightly annoying during a 5 minute sample you'll never get through a 8-30 hour book with them.
