I LOVE my audible subscription. Have had one for several years now. I spend about an hour a day in my car and I listen to my audio books then.

note--it's audio books, not ebooks like Kindle.

They do have sales, and the price if you have a subscription is much discounted off the price listed on the site, but they rarely have free content beyond a preview chapter of an upcoming new release.

If you are looking for free audiobooks, our public library has quite a few titles that are available to download and they also have CDs you can check out.

I've been an Audible member for two years and i love it. I get one audiobook a month (at a much lower monthly cost than buying an audio book every month without being a member) and they often have sales where I will grab a few because they are very low-cost.

I've cut back a lot of things in my budget but my $14 a month to Audible is still there because I get 12-18 hours of entertainment out of that $14.

Thanks Yes, I know it's an audible book..I guess I'd just hoped they had some things free, but really, I guess I don't know why they would
I think my library does rent audio MP3 books, but I'm not sure if I could get it listebed to before it expired and then locked me out or whatever it does.., but I may try that. I think I'll try audible..I only listen to audio books when I travel, so don't know that getting a book every month would be needed for me. Once you join, if you decide to quit can you re-up again when needed?
