Any of Y'all go? We go when we can and usually have a go time but don't buy much. Most of the stuff seems to be yard sale rejects anyway. But we do find a few nice things on occasion.

Auctions are very big in this area where we live. So are yard sales. People take them both very seriously. I have never been but DH is now hooked. He'd never been either cause I they aren't that common in Burbank CA where we used to live.

He always checks the paper and if they are in the area he'll go and sometimes take DS with him. They don't usually buy much but they like to go and look at all the stuff and watch all the action.

One thing he noticed is that sometimes people get into such a bidding frenzy trying to outbid the other person that he's seen people pay alot more for a used item than it would cost them new in the store!!! Gotta know when to quit people! :teeth:

had a co-worker who loved to go to auctions at storage units (renter has'nt paid the bill so the storage unit actions the contents). she said it was like buying a box of buried treasure (though she did get tons of junk :goodvibes ). she would bid a few bucks on sealed boxes not knowing what was in them (though she developed a theory on what type of box, packing material to bid on-said "boxes taped shut with good tape usualy mean the owner was more concerned about the contents" :confused3 ).
