I'm sure this topic has probably been done before...

I REALLY want to go to Auberge when we go on our September trip simply for the Princess's. However, is it really worth paying all that money given the menu?? It's very posh considering most people eating there will have young children. I've ready so many times that people have enjoyed the atmosphere but not the food. I'm not a fussy eater at all but I struggle to find things on that menu that I would eat! The girls im going with are both VERY fussy eaters and can't see them liking any of the food. It would be a shame to miss out on the princesses though.

I could just take them to inventions instead... lot's of great choices of food and time with the classic characters. What do you think?

I think it depends - how much would your girls like to meet the princesses and would you be willing to queue for the princess pavillion instead of doing the auberge? We have enjoyed the food in the auberge in the past but the children haven't generally eaten much other than the dessert! If you do go you are likely to meet 3 princesses, 1 prince and the mice suzy and perla. I think we have decided not to do Auberge this time because the older two really want to go back to BBWWS. I can't really comment on inventions because we haven't been there although the food looks lovely and the children would have plenty of things to choose from so would probably eat more.

I can't speak for the new menu (yet), but food wise I think Auberge isn't all that bad. Auberge and Inventions are the only two places my boyfriend accepts. ;) He thought Inventions was more posh by the way, I am guessing DLH intimidated him.

The good part of the Inventions buffet is the large dessert selection and a pretty huge children food area. For fuzzy eaters it is not a bad choice.

If you have issues eating something I have had way better experiences with Auberge. I have seafood allergies and they have been very accomodating with switching things around. The maximum I got at Inventions when problems in that regard showed up (wrongly labeled dishes and someone had mixed fish and chicken nuggets) was a shrug.

I think they would both really love to meet the princesses here and not have to Que. I think we will go but later in the day and maybe go somewhere snacky at lunch time. Just a quick bite somewhere maybe.

I can't wait. These months had better hurry up!!!

We are currently debating again what to do as DD2 has decided she is desperate to meet Suzy and Perla who won't be at the pavillion:confused3. If the meal was cheaper we wouldn't have a second thought but for the price of Auberge we could have two other decent meals!!

I would definatly do the princess meal. We queued for over an hour in February to see 1 princess (belle) at Princess Pavilion. We went to Auberges and saw 3 princess 1 prince and cinderella mice. The meal was ok not what i would of chosen (it was lamb last Oct) but nice ot inc wine and water with lots of courses.
We are going back this Oct and Auberges will be the first choice with Cafe Mickey purely for the character interaction I will never queue in Princess Pavilion again unless it was to warm up!!!!:rotfl2:

we saw snow white, cinderella, belle and her prince and cinderella's mice. They spent ages with DD Sleeping Beauty soon became her favourite after all those hugs she gave her and Suzy one of the mice hid from her in the end, briliant interaction, This time we did Chef Mickey both are brilliant

Thanks, we have enjoyed it in the past. It is just the price which is a bit off putting :confused3. We loved cafe mickey last year too but have decided to give it a miss this time and try inventions instead. :goodvibes

We saw Suzy and Perla at the Magical Moments event in DLH Saturday. I was very surprised, I've never seen them there.

If someone was around and wondered where that happy squeal came from, that was me. ;)

Cafe Mickey has gone seriously down in quality and price, and our opinions were already not very high. We saw six characters only, and it was the complete standard - Eeyore, Mickey, Pluto, Goofy, Tigger and I am blanking on the sixth one right now. May have been Donald actually. Every time we have walked past it were the same characters, no matter if lunch, breakfast or dinner.

They tried to serve us garlic bread that was completely burned. We refused and sent it back. Got back the same plate with the worst burns scrapped off. We refused again and declined a third try and they still tried to charge us for it!

Vala I'd love to be at DLP when you are - I love watching adults get as excited as the kids :hyper:.

You know, that's just what a CM in one of the restaurants told my boyfriend when he was wondering why she had recognized me. She said most adults act cool and some even pretend that they're just there for the kids, but I was so not like that.
