ATWT watchers-Ben Hendrickson passed away. (Hal Munson)

So sad! I haven't watched much the last few years but used I lived on all the CBS soaps in high school and before the girls. I will have to watch this week and next to see what they to do to honor him.

I've watched Hal from the beginning. This is such sad news!

So very sad. I thought about 6 years ago (when I last watched on a regular basis) it was announced he had cancer.....but came back raring to go. I wonder if the rumors are true or if the cancer returned.

Both could be true. He certainly looked ill lately.

Just a warning for those of you that have not seen ATWT lately and you want to tune in. Today will be very sad. Jennifer- Hal's daughter is dying and I think today is the day. It was so ironic yesterday that Hal said goodbye to Jen. I cried my eyes out- esp. knowing he was already dead.

I know how you feel!! I was watching Wednesday's episode last night and balled! I couldn't watch Thursday's because I was too upset. I have to suck it up and watch tonight though.

He hasn't looked good for a long while and if he was indeed ill again, it must've been really awful for him to end it the way they are saying he did. I always loved him and can't believe he's been on the show for that long and I have been watching it for even longer - well stopped a few years ago and now just turn it on every so often. How sad.

Some crazy, can't be real, soap opera illness. As my DH would say....she actually started with pneumonia (sp?) and then it developed into some rare heart condition and now all the organs in her body are shutting down. It has been a very sad 2 weeks!

I heard that the actress did not renew her contract so I guess instead of re-casting they just did away with the character.

This is SO sad. I grew up watching Hal on ATWT. Today's episode was painfully sad to watch, especially knowing about Benjamin Hendrickson.

Oh my gosh! So sad! I loved Benjamin Hendrickson as Hal! I have watched soaps since I was little and ATWT has always been one of my favorites.
